| Les Moonves, the author of our pain! To quote Jackie Gleason: 'To the moon, Moonves!' ![]() Wow about the pit bull wedged in the motor! Glad she got out okay. Dogs get themselves into the strangest predicaments, although it's usually cats who climb into car engines, to get warm (to their peril). There was one on AnimalCops who had his head stuck in a tire (that had the metal rim in it). Here's another remarkable story (care of the KB's thread) - the 3 headed frog (or 3-frog siamese twins) YouTube - Three-Headed Frog The poor thing (I love frogs). Makes you wonder what's in the water!! ![]() ![]() Thanks Tiger I've seen plenty of articles about Moonlight being cancelled from yesterday (Variety, TV Guide, Hollywood Reporter, etc etc). ![]() CBS is really in for it - The fans are NOT going to take this lying down! ![]() And Moonlight has a LOT of fans, and they are very organized. It's so true, for every active fan, there's probably dozens or hundreds of people out there who LOVE the show, watch it all the time, haven't a clue what's going on with it, never cross their minds to complain to CBS. I told one of my neighbors who loves the show (and is besotted with Alex O'L) and she was just shocked. MLette and her boyfriend watch the show and like it. The show was getting between 7 and 8 million viewers a week - that they counted. Who knows how many really were watching? sigh. I am so bummed out about this, I'm thinking about giving up television (but then what would we talk about?) ![]() __________________ Jason B is #1 with me Blood Ties: Where the women are strong, the men are good looking, and the children possessed by demons Twilight: Because not all vampires need fangs | |||

ML- I feel your pain, believe me. Moonlight was one of the best shows CBS currently had on and I wish they'd wake up! This whole situation SUCKS big (no pun intended). I was going to mention, that if you wanted to write or call the network,I can post the links for you...Otherwise, check the current CAPS thread on the main Roswell board ![]() __________________ "In the immortal words of Socrates...'I drank what?!' | Hey all! ![]() Wow things fly around here! You guys talk a lot while I sleep and deal with RL. ![]() Well I finally have an interview set.... Today actually.... I don't want to talk to much because I really don't know that much and I honestly don't want to jinx it. You can never know. ![]() I actually have 2 interviews but the 2nd one (on Sunday) really isn't my cup of tea (see Scottie I know some sayings... British I think but still ) so I don't know about it....My computer is still alive and kicking (hardly) but I'm openning both of my eyes on everyone so no one will over work the poor thing... we still haven't really checked any other computers... which is not good if you ask me but I guess we're waiting for a little while.... or untill this one will leave us... which ever comes 1st. Because of the 1st interview I don't have a lot of time to play.... I'll read up some other chance. Hope you guys don't mind.... ![]() __________________ Don’t worry about the future; or worry, but know that worrying is as effective as trying to solve an algebra equation by chewing bubblegum.----- Baz Luhrmann You don't have to be crazy to be my friend.... | Best of luck on your interview VB (without jinxing you in any way). The British have a lot of good expressions! Idon't think the US has anything as good as 'not my cup of tea.' 'Not my thing' is pretty blah. Mr ML has a job interview today at that place that is supposedly a 'sure thing' - at his age, transferring over to a sure thing job would be the best thing for him! Or as he put it: I can work there 12 years and then retire! We were studying the map of how to drive there last night. It's not that far 'as the crow flies' but driving there, you have to cross a river and a turnpike and, well, you can't get straight from where we live to there. (Y' can't get there from here!) Mr ML Jr has applications out - we'll see what happens. His dad doesn't want him coming to work at the new place with him too - wants him to go out on his own. Which I understand but hey he was driving him to work before, that would be nice to continue. Ooo coolest thing at work - they are hold 'American Idol' style singing auditions in June, to sing at the summer picnic. I just signed up. Always been mad there's an age cutoff for American Idol. When I was young and sang great, I was too tall (to play singing kid roles, and singing kid roles like Annie weren't written yet anyway), and now I'm nto that tall anymore, just too old. sigh. Anyway, it'll be really fun or a total scene of humiliation, one or the other.Caught a wonderful 'Quantum Leap' rerun last night on this new channel Ion. Sam leaped into a road company of Man of La Mancha, and John Cullum was the lead - he's a Broadway singer and has a marvelous voice (he was also in Northern Exposure and played Sheriff Valente's father on Roswell). Scott Bakula can play the piano and sing, although he has more of a higher voice, like Mandy Patinkin, not a Man of La Mancha voice, but he did a good job. It was a very cute episode. Gosh I used to love that show a lot. Best thing Scott B ever did, that and be Murphy Brown's boyfriend. ;p Didn't warm up to his turn at Star Trek at all, which surprised me, being a Scott Bakula fan and a Trekker but the two never meshed. ![]() I wish CBS had waited to break the bad news until after Friday's episode of 'Moonlight' so we could have enjoyed it with the same joy and anticipation and excitement as usual. Now it's going to be more like a wake, bittersweet because it's the last one we'll ever see, end of the story before its time, and I think they made it a cliffhanger, because they didn't know this was it. ![]() Like with 'Alien Nation' that series ended with a huge cliff hanger and then the network cancelled them unexpectedly. The guy was so frustrated he went on and did 5 TV movies to complete the story. Don't think Moonlight can do that. People are hoping the CW or some other network picks it up. I don't see that happening, for some reason, but I hope I'm wrong! __________________ Jason B is #1 with me Blood Ties: Where the women are strong, the men are good looking, and the children possessed by demons Twilight: Because not all vampires need fangs Last edited by MyrnaLynne : 05-15-2008 at 05:55 AM.

| Graduation day! Can't be rooty. My sister in law sent her granddaughter's prom pix and I realized I need another graduation card/gift! Totally forgot my niece's daughter is the same age as my brother's daughter, both high school graduates soon. Being ambitious and going to do 'Me and Bobby McGee' as I did it in Montreal when we went to karaoke and it worked out pretty well there (also sang 'White Flag'). We have to do it acapella, like American Idol, which is harder, but I don't mind. If I could bring my guitar, I'd have more options. Funny, I printed out the lyrics from a few sites to brush up on them - and they are all slightly different. I mean, I read through the first one and said "No, I don't think that's right..." LOL! It's like those misheard lyric things ("there's a bathroom on the right" instead of "bad moon on the rise"). In fact, there's even a website to post misheard lyrics. (For years I thought Seal's 'kissed by a rose on your grave" was "kissed by the nose on your face") I always crack MLette up with my versions of some songs.Boone, NC! Was that founded/named after Daniel Boone? I bet it was. Weddings are so fun! We haven't had one in the family for quite awhile. This younger generation - they are taking their time before settling down with anybody!OH big surpise on MLette's Top Model last night - the 'fat gal' won! Well, she's fat like maybe a size 10-12 tops (she's fat like Katherine Heigl is fat - ahem), but in modeling that makes her plus size/full figure whatever (i.e., not an anorexic twig woman). Kind of makes up for the fat gal getting booted from Dancing this week. Stupid show but for some reason MLette finds it fascinating. Hey, I can't talk about stupid shows - I like alien boys and vampires! ![]() __________________ Jason B is #1 with me Blood Ties: Where the women are strong, the men are good looking, and the children possessed by demons Twilight: Because not all vampires need fangs Last edited by MyrnaLynne : 05-15-2008 at 07:33 AM. | |||

| ML - there was a video that I watched yesterday on MSN about a runway model that was criticised for her fat legs and she's a size 0-2!!! How insane is that? The poor girl just turned 17 years old and hasn't had a period in over a year and her hair began to fall out so she started going to a nutritionist to see what she could do to improve her diet (or not diet as the case might have been!) and the upshot of the whole thing was that some designers stopped using her altogether b/c she had FAT LEGS. There's something wrong with us when we begin to think that way. The average American woman is 5'4 and like 160 lbs, not 6 feet tall and 110. That's crazy. I forgot to tell you all that Momma Robin's babies are doing well! I saw them for the first time yesterday and I was so excited! There's at least two of them and they don't make a sound (I expected to hear them). You can see the tops of their heads and their beaks (beeks?) now in the nest. I don't know why I'm so excited about them, but I am! Wow, that three headed frog is so cool! But I agree, ML, I feel sorry for it too. And what IS in the water if we're creating such oddities? Good luck to Mr. ML in his job pursuit, I hope he gets whatever makes him happiest. My hubby has a long commute too, around the beltway every morning which is usually insane. So like Poddad, he leaves at the butt-crack of dawn to get through the traffic! Quote:
I agree that it'll be so sad to watch the last Moonlight, knowing it could well be the last one we'll ever see. I'm afraid that with the failure of Jericho, networks could potentially be less willing to stick their necks out for failed shows from other networks. But IMO Moonlight was NOT a failed show, they just are idiots at CBS. ![]() Cool that you're going to follow your dream and sing! Go ML! ![]() Podmom - I've been to Boone! It's gorgeous there, you'll love it! It reminds me of my college, Frostburg (now University, but used to be State College when I went there) in western Maryland. We looked at Appalachian State when my son was looking into different colleges, very cool college town. The average snowfall for Boone is 54 inches annually. So it gets pretty snowy there (duh!). Boone is becoming quite chi-chi, lots of people seeking cool mountain climates spend the summers there. I'm actually flying into Raleigh-Durham airport today!!! I'm flying Southwest out of Baltimore-Washington tonight at 5:50 and going to see my sister for her birthday. The flight's only an hour long. And you're right, the drive from RDU airport to Boone's got to be a good three hour drive, but once you get into the mountains you'll like the drive. When are you going? I forgot to get my boarding pass until about an hour and a half AFTER the 24 hour timeframe for Southwest and I got seating number B12. Means I'll be sitting in a middle seat I'm afraid! ![]() Happy graduation day! Quote:
Good luck on the interview, I hope you ace it! (That means that you do very well!) BA - yep, if you don't spend quality time with the hubby, they tend to get testy. Mine does anyway...so have fun! Wen! Hope you're doing well today!Poor Syesha got booted from American Idol last night. She was my favorite, but I thought she'd probably be let go... Since I'm going to NC I'll see you all around Monday. I expect we'll almost be on a new thread by then the way things are going... ![]() __________________ "Life is hard; it's even harder if you're stupid"--John Wayne

| Hey Everyone! ![]() Wishing only good thoughts to all who have job interviews, but am not naming names. ![]() MyrnaLynne, That's so cool that you signed up to sing! I've heard over and over about your lovely voice! I know you'll knock their socks off! Hope you win!!! ![]() And I'm so sorry to hear about Moonlight. Stupid PTB! I think they are just EVIL and enjoy breaking our hearts! It's SATAN in a suit, I tell you! ![]() I too used to like 'Quantum Leap'. Really good show! Loved the one when he was pregnant! LOL! And yes, song lyrics that were hard to make out... there are a lot of them, that's for sure! Scottie, I had read about that pit bull trapped it the engine. Strange how he did that! Glad he was rescued out of there! Safe travels! Have fun with your sister! ![]() Jody! It's so good to see you! Glad to see you fly by more often! ![]() BehrlyAnt, It's also so good to see you! Yes, quality time with McHubby is a Very Good Thing! ![]() Poddy, Have fun at Emily's Graduation! I know I'm going to cry like a baby at Lainie's. ![]() How's your ankle feeling? Much better I hope! If not, rent a wheelchair and have Poddad wheel you around. I'm sure Penn State is a BIG Campus! Way too big for you to walk with an injured ankle. ![]() Wow, Boone, NC sounds pretty remote! Do you know the population there? Sounds small, and probably quaint. ![]() I hope you have fun at the wedding! ![]() And thanks for the prayers for the treatable veins! I appreciate that! I need all the help I can get! And yes, it really was a LONG day at the Dr's. (sigh) But I've noticed that, that's the norm for these Specialist. Over booked, long waits, and you just have to grin and bear it. (sigh) One lady in there fell asleep and she was snoring! Poor thing was bored to sleep! I went in before she did, but when I came out, she was awake, but still waiting to be seen. ![]() Hope Everyone has a Great Day! ![]() Hugs to All, ![]() Wen __________________ JB's Obsessed Fan#64 ( I LOVE JASON BEHR!!!) ![]() "God never gives you more than you can handle. | Thanks for the good luck all! ![]() It actually went along pretty well.... but as always there are issues.... The place is just hard to get to and I have to take 2 busses to get there and it's about 1:30 hour ride (without truffic' which means it will be more). Any way at best I'll be home at 19:30' which also means no more gym (which is a huge problem for me) I'm still not too sure what to do. The interviewer was such a nice lady and she interviewed me at her place (because they're at the middle of a move). She was really nice and made me feel so cofortable.... if it weren't for the place problem I'd totally take it. There's a lot of responsibility in that job which I like..... I'll have to sleep on it... she's suppoused to give me an answer on Sunday.... Wooof! This is just to much Drama for me!!!!ML, that's great that Mr ML Jr. already has a few offers waiting for him! I wish him good luck in each and every one of them! That's cool about your work's place American Idol! Sound like a lot of fun! So sorry to hear that Moonlight won't be coming back! That sucks....![]() That makes sense... everyone hears something else and untill someone actually takes the lyrics from the CD you don't know which one is it... ![]() That is pretty shocking that a size 12-10 won super model..... that's wired. But if any show could do it that would be it. With Tayra not being what you might call skiny that makes sense! podmommy, that was for me. I had a job interview this afternoon. Thanks!Have a nice wedding... even with all the driving. ![]() Scottie, poor kid! That is just crul... but I guess that's the bussiness. As sad as it might be. I have no idea who decided that woman have to be skiny but whoever that was should be punished! Thanks for the good luck. I did well but all of that thinking after it's finished is beginning to give me an headace! I think that once is pretty known....Wen, about the long day at the Dr.'s. It's not any different over here... well not with the normal Dr.s but the more complicated things are the more you have to wait....![]() Happy Graduation Days to everyone who has someone graduating there! ![]() That's it for now.... and probebly for the day too.... ![]() all__________________ Don’t worry about the future; or worry, but know that worrying is as effective as trying to solve an algebra equation by chewing bubblegum.----- Baz Luhrmann You don't have to be crazy to be my friend.... | VB a long commute is tough, but maybe you could do the gym at a different time. If the job really looks like you might like it, it could be worth the hassle to get there and home again. But it's hard to know what to do! The robin babies are hatched! Congratulations on the blessed event, Momma Robin! And Scottie the Momma Robin's landlady! Everybody is going to N Carolina! Too funny! That mountainous cool area sounds very beautiful. If I moved to the south, it would have to be someplace like that - I just die in heat and humidity. But Mr ML would never stand for the snow! He wants to get away from that. Oh my son doesn't have job offers - he just sent in his resume and applied to some places - probably nothing will come of it. ![]() Some people are just really really skinny, like Kiera Knightly and Mischa Barton and that one Top Model girl from Somalia (who probably grew up starving, but they are generally a tall slender people over there in Somalia and Ethiopia, tall and elegant looking). But the majority of people have to starve themselves half to death to get that 'model look' and that is just wrong and unhealthy. They are trying to make the modeling industry not have such starving models, after a few of them died trying to stay so thin. The big gal had a beautiful face and was quite bright and poised (and not actually fat) and probably the best choice - but it was still a surprise! Yes, Tyra has been criticized for the size of her thighs etc recently. Oh well, she can go to the bank and count her money and laugh at those catty folks. Alex O'Louglin posted a message and he's as flummoxed and heartbroken as the rest of us - he didn't see it coming and he can't believe it. As heartbroken as we are plus - he's out of a job now! The people who make a show love it as much as the fans - they have to love and 'believe' the story to become those characters. sigh. I feel so bad for him. And he spent a lot of the strike travelling around the world, promoting the show, and just spent a ton of time promoting it at conventions and interviews (with idiotic interviewers) and all that and then - boom - they cancel it. There's a tiny sliver of hope that Warner could try to sell it to CW or get some other network to make it but - slim hope. Slimmer than those starving models. Oh I can't think about it - just making me sad again... sigh. Evil evil CBS! | Hey all! Well I turned the job down. There was really no way for it to work for me... which def sucks but I hope to find something different and that would be closer. ML, thing is with the times they wanted me to work the job would basicly take all day long (I'd get home around 7 if not later) and as nice as that job looked like I'm not willing to put my all (I'm talking about no more French classes and if I want to go to the gym it'll mean coming home around 10 pm!) in a job that at the buttom line is being a plain secretary that doesn't really gets paid that much. It was interesting on the jeneral level but it wasn't worth it when you look at the big picture. But I'm not giving up! I've sent a few more resumes out and I'll kip doing that untill I'll find something that works! I actually have a very positive push right now.I'm sure Mr ML Jr. will find something soon! You've (and he has) to stay positive. That's the only way things will work out! You know there was this thing that happened here a while ago. This swimsuit desiner took a this Cochav Nolad (the Israeli American Idol) finelist to walk in his fashion show. She's pretty full but she doesn't have any problems with that. So she was suppoused to go on with a swimsuit (just like the rest of the models) but at the last sec they had her wearing a robe (and not a very flattering one if you ask me)... It was so wired. Everyone wore a 2 piece skimpy swimsuit but her. If you take a full-figure model got for the whole run. In the end they made her look really wired among all of the skiny models. It made me kinda angry... so if you're not skinny you don't get to wear a swimsuit? That's sad. Especially the fact they didn't let him know first. I mean he has to find a job now and I def think he should have know earlier. It's called common curtsey. ![]() ![]() __________________ Don’t worry about the future; or worry, but know that worrying is as effective as trying to solve an algebra equation by chewing bubblegum.----- Baz Luhrmann You don't have to be crazy to be my friend.... | Sigh - last episode of 'Moonlight' day. I was already sad it was the season finale and we'd only gotten 4 new shows since the strike, but now for it to be the last show, ever - I am really really sad and disappointed. And the creators didnt' even know the show was going to send (unlike with Roswell), so it will be some cliffhanger, and probably won't end on a good note. It's like the Blood Ties finale - everybody was angry at each other, miserable, crying, and leaving in different directions!! And they left the show there?! What kind of ending is that? sigh. Both shows need to continue! There was so much more story to tell with Moonlight, it had barely gotten started. At least they are going to rerun the shows a little before they stop (forever). ![]() Yes, I feel so terrible for Alex and the rest of the cast, but especially Alex, as when you are the lead in a show, you are sort of like the captain of the ship, it all rests on you and you feel a great responsibility for it. And he really loved this role, this show, this genre. Must be a very bitter thing for him. :< Actors have to be tough to survive in this line of work, but they also have to be very sensitie people to be able to be actors! sad. I didn't watch any TV yesterday (alert the media! Hahaha) - have given up on Lost and CSI and Smallville! No surprise Warwick was coming to a bad end on CSI, since they already announced he was fired and had been arrested with a ton of drugs in his car. What a pity, him being so stupid with that stuff. That job wasn't right for you VB and I'm glad you decided and didn't agonize over it too long. You are a very smart girl and you will find the right thing. Whoever hires you will be the lucky one! ![]() This new job for Mr ML pays half what he is making now, but half is better than nothing, I suppose. He will have to start over at the bottom again with this different company. IF they offer him the job, he didn't get an offer yet. But I know him, he is too lazy to look around for something else (unless I do it for him) so I suppose he should take this one. ![]() I told my son you were also job hunting VB and that you two were the same age (and that I would fix you two up, except you are in Israel and he is not orthodox). LOL! He looked embarrassed, of course! He is hoping to get a job with computers this time around, as that is what he studied and that is his field of interest. Well, playing video games and watching cartoons is his field of interest but they don't pay you for that! ![]() That boy in the new Narnia movie, Prince Caspian, Ben Barnes, is cute. He sort of reminds me of young Kyle in looks, only a little more British and heroic. I guess it's the chin and the hair. :p __________________ Jason B is #1 with me Blood Ties: Where the women are strong, the men are good looking, and the children possessed by demons Twilight: Because not all vampires need fangs | |||
