| I don't really believe in 'the Devil' myself, that's my friend's theory. We just believe in the 'yetzer harah' - the evil inclination. People have choice and free will and for whatever reason, sometimes they chose the evil path instead of the good one - make bad choices, do the wrong thing. Or the really horrendous thing! But it is sort of a comforting explanation if there is some evil force at work in the universe egging them on to do that stuff. But I think if you believe in an equally and oppositely poweful Devil to G-d, well, that kind of diminishes the all-powerful and one-ness of G-d. I'm just sayin'... OK, down off the theological soap box! LOL! For whatever reason, good happens, bad happens, and bad is, well, pretty bad. sigh. ![]() Bad earthquake in China! Oy! Wonder if that will affect their Olympic plans - gosh they are so gung-ho about getting the Olympics (hmm, I wonder if 'gung-ho' is a Chinese word?) I should email that Chinese doctor I worked with and see if she's okay - she was so funny. Her view of things was so different and interesting and Western life was totally mystifying to her as well. Tornados this spring are scarier than usual this year too. Always something (scary). VB I didn't realize you needed a certain amount of bread before you could do that prayer - I used to do it when I made 2 loaves of Challah - but I was just figuring this stuff out as I go along! ![]() My Dancing guy from Chile, Cristian, rocked the house last night! His samba was the best dance (and the samba was how he injured his arm, so he sort of went into it with samba-phobia). I wonder if it will come down to him vs. Kristi Yamaguchi in the end. That would be interesting. I just don't like anybody else who is left at all. I never liked any of them that much (and disliked a few intensely), which is why I didn't want to watch it this time around (and didn't start watching til the people I couldn't stand were gone!) LOL! Only saw half of 'House' - have to go back and watch the first part of it tonight. It's a two-part season finale big episode. I think that show has run its course and probably should get over pretty soon. Let the poor man go back to England to his wife and kids! In a way, it's sort of like the 'freak of the week' problem Smallville had - it always has to come down to a sick person and House figuring out what is wrong with them, week in and week out. shrug. (I've finally given up on Smallville and so has the rest of the family. Took us a long time, but it's so bad now. And Lex Luthor guy is leaving the show too! Plus the creative team is leaving. I give it one more year.) Podmom oy with the bum ankle and graduation and having to get around college campuses - and having to get home too! Safe journey. Wouldn't be that bad if Poddad came out to your rescue. That's what we keep those Knights in Shining Armor around for! Anyway, hope you get back safely and figure out how to get to graduation. HUGS because illness and injuries are just so darn inconvenient!Well, I used a slide rule a little (and very badly) in school - the electronic calculator didn't come out, I think, until our senior year in college - I remember my professor got one and he was SO excited about it - and paid a fortune for it (?$250) and all it did was add, subtract, divide and multiply - the kind you get for free nowadays! LOL! Always said if it was invented a few years earlier, I might be a doctor/scientist today - was good at science, just couldn't do the math. sigh. 'Transformers' was a fun movie. That boy's Shia LaBouf - he's going to be Indiana Jones' new sidekick (and maybe grooming him to take over the Indie franchise?) Harrison Ford is wicked old now, although he looks pretty good in the previews - the wonders Hollywood makeup and movie magic can do to a person! LOL! I wish they would do that stuff for me! LOL! Still very chilly and windy here - some storm out at sea blowing cold air on us. Woo, Mr ML has a job interview Thursday with that other company. Crossing many fingers! Mr ML Jr is applying places too. Keeping a good thought for my guys! __________________ Jason B is #1 with me Blood Ties: Where the women are strong, the men are good looking, and the children possessed by demons Twilight: Because not all vampires need fangs | |||

| Wow......an interview so soon? That is great!!!!!! Best wishes to him and you! i AM SO EXCITED....lIZ HAS DANCING wts ON HER TIVO SO i'VE CAUGHT UP....ACTUALLY FINISHING LAST NIGHTS AS i TYPE ...ackk just saw the caps sorry...too lazy to redo anyway......I was really bummed to have missed the returning stars one...so very nice surprize for me I know about the shining knight thing I really thought about it but he's taking off thurs and Fri for grad plus we are going to cat sit the next wk here for Lizs cat while they go on vacation.......kinda a vacation for us to have the cool appt for free and do DC stuff....might even do the funny but fun looking segway tour since I can't walk well ![]() just saw Kristi Ys dance...fast one....she does great but like the judges say missing a bit on performance pazazz.......I like the ones that are left......I liked most of them....Penn ,no....although his magic entertains me. she has the bachelor too....I think I'll have to peak at that a bit before I go too weird weird concept but this British guy is so much better than the others.creeping up on the theo soup box for a sec..................we believe G-d is in total control and has already defeated evil through the death of Christ.....but He is allowing things to go on for now for our chance to believe and for His plan... but He created all..including the fallen angel so we see no diminishing of His power....Sheol is discussed in the Old Testement (so shared theology there) but granted, rarely.....mentioned throughout but without great explanation. So I see why it isn't discussed much in the Jewish belief. big big departure here....the british dude and his last 2 girls are charming...jeesh the angst of this choosing thing ![]() __________________ ![]() | |||

| Hi Everyone! ![]() Wow, you ladies really tore up the Thread! I feel so far behind, and it's only been one day! LOL!1st of all, Poor Podmom! Hope your ankle is feeling a little better day by day! Yes, continue what you are doing and it should be better in no time. ![]() And I saw Black Stallion and Blue Lagoon, and I liked BS so much more, as BL was just Ok, IMHO. I'm so glad you had a nice time with your Liz, and had a nice Mother's Day, well up until you got injured. And the "Royal Elevator Ride" was really something! And awww, how cute that Poddad was trying to impress you with his sliderule! LOL! Aren't Engineers a funny lot?! LOL! They sure are different. Btw, Satan Jr. is an Engineer too. And you and MyrnaLynne were definitely twins seperated at birth as you both will be celebrating your 29th this year as well! You both have sooo many things that are alike that it's so amazing!!! ![]() And that kitty is so adorable, and sooo small! Too cute! And I've never been in an IKEA either, but they just built one in the next town over, so I'll be trekking over soon to experience it. LOL! Hope your ankle is feeling better soon. ![]() MyrnaLynne, I'm so glad you had such a nice Mother's Day! Actually you kind of had 2 days of Mother's Day, with the dinner and then the movie, and the beautiful Orchid! ![]() I think it's so nice to have a day to be honored! LOL! Glad someone thought of it! LOL! I'm glad to hear that Mrs. Boss's Mom is still around. That would have been awful to loose her Mom the weekend of Mother's Day. And that's impressive that your Dad went to MIT! He must be a very brilliant man! Was he an Engineer too? Don't mean to be nosy, just curious. ![]() I'm sorry to hear about Blood Ties being cancelled. But hopefully, like you said, that someone will pick them up!And that's really ashame that they cancelled New Amsterdam before it even aired! How stupid is that?! Oh, and I loved the picture you posted of Our Jason with YOU standing behind him! Were you there to see Jason? Oh, and I don't try to one up my Bro' in the gift department with his kids, it just happens. And that box with the 25 presents in it... they were really small little presents, but all pertaining to the theme of what they liked. They really got a big kick out of it... it was more fun than expense. But when it comes to Birthday Parties, my Bro' and SIL have Great imaginations with the themes... it's just the presents they bomb at. Too bad too because you'd think they'd be great at the gifts as well! And you mentioned about wheelchairs... My Aunt, ( MOTHER's sister, the one who married the millionare), is giving my mother her late husband's wheelchair when she comes up for Lainie's Graduation Party. Now here's the thing... MOTHER has COPD, Emphazema, the works, and refuses to use her walker because she says it makes her look old! And my Bro' told her: "You ARE old!" LOL! Anyway, but when she's out shopping with me, she does fine because she uses the shopping cart to help her, and she goes at a normal pace then. Well, now that she found out that she's getting the wheelchair, she's convinced that she can't walk in the stores any more and wants Lainie and I to do ALL her shopping FOR HER! Grrrrr! She's just waiting on that wheelchair! Grrrrr! And I KNOW her,,, she'll want to be carted all over the place in that stupid wheelchair! Grrrr! She's going to give up on walking all together and that's very bad! She hardly has any stamina now because she's a couch potato! She won't even go get her own mail down the hall! She makes Lainie get it for her. The only time she moves is when I take her out shopping, but looks like those days are gone now and she'll just atrophy, and she won't listen to reason. Grrrrrrr! That's the worst thing my Aunt could have said to her. But she complains a lot to my Aunt, so I'm sure she has my Aunt convinced that she has one foot in the grave and that she needs that wheelchair. That Jordan Furniture Store sound amazing! I've never heard of that chain, so I guess it's just on the East Coast. With a store like that, who needs an Amuzement Park?! LOL! Vero, I'm sorry to hear about your computer trouble, but thank goodness you have such a kind neighbor to help you out like that and get it up and running again! ![]() Wow, I didn't realize making bread was so complicated for you! No wonder you buy store bought bread... I do too! And I wouldn't even have to go thru' half of what you'd have to do to make bread. There was a craze here in the States with these bread machines coming out to make bread making so easy... just put the ingredients in and turn the machine on and wait a little while and POOF, fresh baked bread! I never got one of those machines, but my No.2 son wanted to get me one, but I told him that I really didn't want one. I think he was impressed by them, but I knew the newness would wear off and I'd have yet another appliance sitting around with no room for it. And good luck to your sister on her SAT's. Hope she does well. ![]() And I don't know if I already wished you a Happy Independence Day, but Happy Independence Day! ![]() And yes, I'm VERY HAPPY that I'm NOT WITH Satan Jr. any longer. My sentence is OVER! Too bad he still causes my grief every now and then tho'! GRRRR!And at the rate the East Coast has been having rain... I think THEY could send you some water! The poor things have been saturated with rain, rain, and more rain! I think they should start building an Ark! ![]() Scottie, I'm so glad you had such a nice Mother's Day! That restaurant sounds lovely! And plus the gift certificate for the Spa is just wonderful! You made out really well! ![]() Too bad about all the rain tho'. You had a nice, but soggy Mother's Day. Well, with all my complaining about my Mother's Day plans, I actually had a really nice Mother's Day after all. AND, the best part was, that my No.2 son came after all! He made me VERY HAPPY that her did! And I know he ONLY did it for me. Well, at the restaurant, the service was slower than a snail, I'm talking REALLY SLOW! But the food wasn't bad... I enjoyed what I got, and so did MOTHER but half of the family said it was bland, and the other half said it was good, so there you go. ![]() Then it was back to MOTHER's for cake and visiting. We all had a nice time as we don't get together as a family that often. All in all, it was a really nice Mother's Day. ![]() Hope Everyone has a Great Day! Hugs to All, ![]() Wen __________________ JB's Obsessed Fan#64 ( I LOVE JASON BEHR!!!) ![]() "God never gives you more than you can handle. Thanks for my get well hug Resting as I type....made the chicken salad and just had a bit out on their patio....so nice today(finally) looking at another old Dancing..wts....the little kids are on...not quite sure what I think of them.....kinda weird with the grown up clothes and moves...creeps me out on some level....not the prude level just something Funny ...I want and am making my mom get a wheel chair so we can do longer outings....she doesn't of course want to give in to that level of handicap.. I get that...sad your mom is so nuts to age before her time ...unreal......she's in her 70s right? A drag for you of course she needs to take a field trip to a nursing home for some perspective building..if she looses her thigh muscles and can't get from the bed/chair to the john she might be surprized with the outcome ditto about the bread machines...too big....now trying not to eat bread...but I do enjoy the magic of making bread....have to do it again sometime.lets see if ML,Scottie,vB or anyone else has stopped by off...... ![]() __________________ ![]() | |||

| I'm here! LOL! You girls have been BUSY! I had to wait until lunchtime to log on and now it's taken me half of my lunch hour to get through all the interesting posts by everyone! No one can ever say that we don't have anything to talk about, eh? You gotta love to talk to post here it seems! ![]() Podmom - I'm so glad you're here and healing a bit! Glad you can take time to rest and have fun watching the shows you missed. I saw Black Stallion years ago and loved it, so thanks for the pic from the movie. Thanks also for the cute kitty pic from a day or so ago and the cute puppy gif! Seeing puppies always makes me want to get one, but they're a hassle! That's why my last two dogs (Hazel and Molly) were rescue dogs, already housebroken and not the chewing up every shoe in the closet variety! We raised Ralph the basset hound from an 8 week-old puppy and he was pretty good at not chewing, but leave something on the counter and he'd snag it! He was short legged, but when he stood up he could counter-surf with the best of them. VB - It must be difficult sometimes to understand the expressions that a lot of we Americans take for granted! If ever you don't understand some of our zany expressions, ask us, we'll be happy to give a translation! Sorry about your computer troubles! Good that your neighbor can help you when you need it. We had seven inches of rain in some parts of the DC metro area over the last couple of days. My sister said that her news station in North Carolina even reported our rainfall! I'm halfway between Baltimore and Washington, and we *only* had five inches! I don't think I've ever seen such hard rain for such a long time, it just never stopped. But it's sunny out now, thank G-D! ML - Wow, I thought House was amazing last night, it left me with a dropped jaw! All except for a certain bus "pole issue" between Cuddy and House which I thought was kind of icky and think Lisa Edelstein (I think that's her name, the actor who plays Cuddy) must have been out of her mind to agree to! But that's my opinion, my hubby loved it! He's got a huge crush on Cuddy anyway. I met her bowling at the bowlathon a couple of years ago, she's so nice and so tiny! Let me know when you see the second part. I agree that it's gotten to be "germ of the week" on House. But last night's was good... Did anyone see Bones last night?Wen - Mother should definitely walk every day, or you're right, her muscles will atrophy and then she'll become an invalid. That scares me! I'm glad your #2 son agreed to go to dinner with you even though he doesn't like the restaurant, that was nice of him. Glad your day turned out well. To chime in on the Ikea conversation, I've bought lots of stuff from Ikea, I furnished my son's room in college with the Malm line of furniture. It's inexpensive, but well made and very contemporary and kids love it. It's a pain in the rear to put together sometimes though, it can be quite challenging! I love to walk through the rooms, they're so cool. Probably had a lot more to say, but lunch time's over, so I gotta scoot! you all!__________________ "Life is hard; it's even harder if you're stupid"--John Wayne | |||

| JOFs So much going on and I know I can’t respond to it all so I’m just jumping in with a few thoughts.Belated Happy Mother’s Day to all JOF-moms! I didn’t do much because my mom died about 24 years ago and her grave is in Florida (I’m in Maryland), and my cat-kids didn’t do anything for me AGAIN this year. So I went to the Animal Rescue website and bought myself a t-shirt that says “World’s Best Cat Mom.” Here’s a photo of my youngest, Bob. I loved the blue eye/green eye combo, and he’s got a nice little personality, unlike his big sister Abigail who has to have a tranquilizer before going to the Vet because she’s a biter (of Vets, not of me). http://s291.photobucket.com/albums/l...=1210698920556 (Oops. Doesn't look like that worked. Will try to fix it later.) Podmom—I know your pain! Last year (Friday, April 13, no less) I stepped off a curb and into a pothole (how can you watch traffic and watch for potholes at the same time???). I hobbled back to the office and about 4 hours later I realized I needed to see a doctor (it was Friday and there was no way I wanted to end up in the ER on Friday night). The Dr. took one look at my ankle and said “It’s broken.” It was swelling out at the ankle bone. So I was in a knee-high cast for 6 weeks. I was disappointed because I didn’t get one of those fancy new casts and I was worried because I was going to the Outer Banks the last week of May! Fortunately, it all worked out and I was out of the cast by the time we went to the beach. Hope you feel better soon! ![]() There are so many topics that I’d like to respond to but my lunch hour is over! Will try to get back tonight. In the meantime, here's an email I received today. The guy stomping his daughter to death made me think of the jailers treatment of the suffragists. Almost anybody at any time can give in to evil. WHY WOMEN SHOULD VOTE This is the story of our Grandmothers, and Great-grandmothers, as they lived only 90 years ago. It was not until 1920 that women were granted the right to go to the polls and vote. The women were innocent and defenseless. And by the end of the night, they were barely alive. Forty prison guards wielding clubs and with their warden's blessing went on a rampage against the 33 women wrongly convicted of "obstructing sidewalk traffic." They beat Lucy Burn, chained her hands to the cell bars above her head and left her hanging for the night, bleeding and gasping for air. They hurled Dora Lewis into a dark cell, smashed her head against an iron bed and knocked her out cold. Her cellmate, Alice Cosu, thought Lewis was dead and suffered a heart attack. Additional affidavits describe the guards grabbing, dragging, beating, choking, slamming, pinching, twisting and kicking the women. Thus unfolded the "Night of Terror" on Nov. 15, 1917, when the warden at the Occoquan Workhouse in Virginia ordered his guards to teach a lesson to the suffragists imprisoned there because they dared to picket Woodrow Wilson's White House for the right to vote. For weeks, the women's only water came from an open pail. Their food--all of it colorless slop--was infested with worms. When one of the leaders, Alice Paul, embarked on a hunger strike, they tied her to a chair, forced a tube down her throat and poured liquid into her until she vomited. She was tortured like this for weeks until word was smuggled out to the press. So, refresh my memory. Some women won't vote this year because--why, exactly? We have carpool duties? We have to get to work? Our vote doesn't matter? It's raining? Last week, I went to a sparsely attended screening of HBO's new movie "Iron Jawed Angels." It is a graphic depiction of the battle these women waged so that I could pull the curtain at the polling booth and have my say. I am ashamed to say I needed the reminder. All these years later, voter registration is still my passion. But the actual act of voting had become less personal for me, more rote. Frankly, voting often felt more like an obligation than a privilege. Sometimes it was inconvenient. My friend Wendy, who is my age and studied women's history, saw the HBO movie, too. When she stopped by my desk to talk about it, she looked angry. She was--with herself. "One thought kept coming back to me as I watched that movie," she said. "What would those women think of the way I use--or don't use--my right to vote? All of us take it for granted now, not just younger women, but those of us who did seek to learn." The right to vote, she said, had become valuable to her "all over again." HBO released the movie on video and DVD. I wish all history, social studies and government teachers would include the movie in their curriculum. I want it shown on Bunco night, too, and anywhere else women gather. I realize this isn't our usual idea of socializing, but we are not voting in the numbers that we should be, and I think a little shock therapy is in order. It is jarring to watch Woodrow Wilson and his cronies try to persuade a psychiatrist to declare Alice Paul insane so that she could be permanently institutionalized. And it is inspiring to watch the doctor refuse. Alice Paul was strong, he said, and brave. That didn't make her crazy. The doctor admonished the men: "Courage in women is often mistaken for insanity." Please, if you are so inclined, pass this on to all the women you know. We need to get out and vote and use this right that was fought so hard for by these very courageous women. Whether you vote democratic, republican or independent party - remember to vote. History is being made. (Sorry that email is so long.) to All!BBW Last edited by BehrBewitched : 05-13-2008 at 10:50 AM. Reason: Photo didn't show up. | |||

| I'm back! Sorry, had to do some of that pesky WORK! Ahem! And also post here and there about various things of course! TV Guide is making dark predictions about the fate of Moonlight and giving everybody palpitations (they announce tomorrow) but Eli Stone is supposedly coming back. That's nice, but it's not 'Moonlight'! sigh.BBW If you click on that link, you can see the photo of the cat - what unusual eyes! I think that's terrific you got yourself a 'cat mother' Mother's Day shirt. My friend is a dog mother - she has 4 and calls them 'the kids.' Didn't mean to make anybody feel bad over Mother's Day - I know it's difficult for people who lost their mothers, don't have kids, didn't get along with their mothers, etc. sigh. And youch about the broken ankle! Glad it's all better. My friend did something similar, she went to a 'doc in a box' and they told her it wasn't broken. Then later they rechecked the xrays and called back and said it WAS broken and by then she'd done a lot of damage to it - still gives her trouble. Sometimes I think it's a wonder we can walk at all, such tall creatures on such spindly ankles and two little feet! LOL! Good to remind 'the younger generation' about voting and how women fought (and died) for sufferage and the right to vote. I always try to vote and feel very proud that I can do that. It's not a right to be taken for granted! Even if you aren't always thrilled with the candidates. ![]() Wen wow, that's good news/bad news about the wheelchair. Your mother is such a drama queen! I hope she doesn't get weak before her time. I keep walking on my bum knee etc because I want to be able to. (My friend Susan goes up and down her stairs every day - so she can keep going up and down the stairs!) Didn't mean to be critical. Yeh, some people are just good gifters. My friend Heart of Ice has such a talent for presents and for wrapping them - they might just be little things but Wow! Your family is great with parties. LOL Scottie bassetts are surprisingly tall when they stand on their back feet. My dog has stolen some of his (edible) Hanukah gifts off the dining room table in past years - I guess he could smell they were for him! Luckily he never got into anybody else's gifts. He's good otherwise about that stuff. I didn't realize you'd met Lisa Edelstein! How cool. She's tiny? Do you mean skinny skinny or not tall either. She looks so tall. That's the tricks of television! I missed all the 'fun' parts of House - will definitely watch it tonight. That is the most interesting show and their weird dream sequence episodes are some of the best - I think they won an award for that one where House was telling the strange story to the medical class (with Pamela Anderson and the farmer and all that) - brilliant one. I caught the last few minutes of 'Bones' when they shot David Boreanaz! LOL my friend saw it and said "Dang, now I have to tune in next week and see how it ends" even though she's never watched the show. And even though you KNOW one of two stars of the series isn't going to die! I liked some of the books that show is based on, but I never warmed up to the show. Tried it, didn't like it. I didn't realize Satan Jr was an engineer. Yes, my dad studied mechanical engineering (and his brother is an electrical engineer, but didn't go to MIT). I think I might have liked being an engineer too, if that pesky calculator was invented sooner. But women weren't doing that sort of thing in those days. Maybe civil engineering - would be really fun to build buildings and bridges (but being bad at math - they might fall down!) ![]() Oh that photo in NYC - there was a Roswell party in May to view the final episode of the season (forget now if it was the end of first season? Guess so). Then found out the upfronts were the next day and at what hotel and I stood in the lobby and watched all the WB stars walk by the paparazzi lined up to snap their photos before they went into the ballroom or whatever to meet with the advertisers etc. Jason, Katie, Brendan were there, David Boreanaz, Ivan Sergei, James Van der Beek. LOL, I remember Mr ML was extremely jealous when he found out I had seen Jason in NY, because I assured him it was only a fan thing and he wouldn't be there - I think he thought Jason and I had cooked up this plan to meet in NYC! DON'T I WISH! LOL! So flattering that my husband over-estimates my attractiveness to other males. ![]() Yep, resisted the bread machine (good at making bread without it) and had an absolute dread of food processors! LOL! Didn't want any more whirling blades in my kitchen, although I know they are wildly useful (can make potato pancakes in a snap!) Heck, even making milkshakes in the blender makes me nervous. Nope, not a big fan of whirling blades. Doesn't help Mr ML leaves the disposal on, so when I turn on the water sometimes, it starts grinding! Bachelor looked embarrasingly icky to me. I watched the one with Joe Millionaire but that was the only one. How wonderful that 'Dancing' was all on the Tivo Poddy! You are definitely making lemons out of lemonade, making the best of a sprained ankle at your daughter's place. (Your vacation in DC catsitting sounds very nice too - swank city apartment - very romantic!) Those Segways are the dorkiest things but they would get you around with less ankle pain/more speed. Walking in DC is so exhausting, the scale of the city is so grand. It looks like an easy walk from here to there, and then you realize it's MILES! Happened to us when we were there with the kids one summer (hot hot summer too). Yes, I felt exactly the same about the little kid dancers - it's kind of creepy in some weird way. I guess like the little beauty pagent gals who are like miniature sexy adults - creepy. I think it's awful they are doing eliminations of them and having voting for a 'winner'. They are little kids, why can't they just come and do an exhibition. I thought some of them were more professional than some of the people performing on the show for real -ahem -and better sports. It is a pretty bizarre show if you think about it too much. Tonight's show should be extremely strange (going to be able to vote for the kid dancers, among other stuff). glad it's almost over with. Phew, think I answered everybody about everything! Back to work! ![]() Back to say the word on the street is that 'Moonlight' is being cancelled by the biggest idiot network on earth, CBS! It's not official til tomorrow though. ![]() __________________ Jason B is #1 with me Blood Ties: Where the women are strong, the men are good looking, and the children possessed by demons Twilight: Because not all vampires need fangs Last edited by MyrnaLynne : 05-13-2008 at 11:57 AM. | |||

| So glad you made it home Ok Poddy. Thanks for letting us know! (You know a RosMom worries.) ![]() BB, Meant to say that was a powerful poem about Women's Right to Vote! Gosh, I won't take voting for granted anymore, that's for sure! And your kitty with the two colored eyes is so pretty! So unique! I knew a couple of peeps with two colored eyes too. Always facinating to look at. ![]() ********************************************************* Well, I had to go to yet a New Dr today for my leg swelling. (sigh) This time this Dr. is a Vascular Specialist as the problem just might be my veins collaspsing in my legs causing the blood and fluid to back up, hence the swelling. My appointment was at 3:30 but they wanted me there 20mins early to fill out paperwork and I was prompt. And the place was PACKED! I was lucky to get the last seat! Well, I wasn't put into a room until 4:30!!! Then the Dr. didn't come in until 4:45! ![]() He asked a lot of questions, and the bottom line is... he wants me to have a scan of the veins in my legs, but there is no place around here that does it, so I have to go to Napa (where they make the wine) to get it done. It's only about 25mins away, but I wished they could have done it here in town. Oh well. Anyway, his nurse is going to set up the appt and call me with the date and time. Then I'll go back to his office in town and get the results. He said there can be two out-comes... one) that they can help me if it's in this certain area of veins, and two) that they can't help if it's in the deep veins and then it's just doing what I do now and that is with water pills and stockings. So, we'll see. He seemed really nice... just incredibly busy! I guess he's the only vascular specialist in town, but he also has an office in Napa so he commutes back and forth on certain days. You know, it will be one year come this July that I've had this weird Swelling in my legs! Sometimes it feels that long, and other times it feels longer!Curious what the Up Front have to say. I wonder if HEROES are coming back too? I hope so! And I hope Moonlight stays on aswell! | Poddy glad you got home safely! The 'tiny dancers' were back last night. They dance way better than anybody else on the show, which is kind of scarily impressive since they are 9-12 years old. I don't think it's right to vote and pick one, they were all good, but I suppose if they are going to become competitive ballroom dancers, they might as well get used to the judging and the losing (and winning) side of it. I liked how kind the judges were to the kids, anyway. They are not so generous with the adult contestants! And my Chile guy with the wounded wing, Cristian, made the cut to dance one more week! He is very cute, I like his Ricky Ricardo accent (and his arms - ahem). Cute. Fat gal got the boot. Amazing she stayed on the show so long, I think it was her goofy bubbly personality that won people over, because watching her dance was just not aesthetically pleasing! Ahem! ![]() Wen I'm glad you saw the specialist, although what a pain to have to wait so long, and go to another town where they have the special test. Still, if there's hope they can figure it out and maybe fix it! Oy, it's been a year with the swollen legs! That's awful. Medical stuff is just such an incredibly drag. ![]() ![]() I haven't heard about 'Heroes' yet. I was so crying yesterday afternoon over 'Moonlight' I was a total wreck! Surprised me how hard this news hit me - I knew I liked that show, but I guess I didn't realize just how much until I heard there wouldn't be any more, that the beautiful story ends here! Gosh I hate CBS so much for doing this - the show is a hit, as far as I can see. Heck, Alex O'L was just among the sexiest stars in TV Guide. People love him, people love the show - the network just doesn't want to be bothered. They are going to at least have reruns for awhile - really good episode is going to rerun next week (Black Crystal). sigh. Makes me want to stop watching TV and not risk my heart getting broken anymore by getting attached to these stories. ![]() Figure I have enough DVDs I haven't watched that I could give up TV for several years at least! ![]() Woah, just noticed I've passed 10,000 posts! More stars than a general! LOL! I think that deserves a little party! ![]() __________________ Jason B is #1 with me Blood Ties: Where the women are strong, the men are good looking, and the children possessed by demons Twilight: Because not all vampires need fangs | |||

| Hey JOF's!! to all PODMOM- I hope your ankle's on the mend! OUCHML - I'm also a huge fan of MOONLIGHT, but the news this morning's NOT good CBS in their infinite stupidity has cancelled it. | To everyone - I share your pain! Stupid CBS, they're insane not to renew Moonlight. WTH is the matter with them? Is Les Moonves attached to CBS in any capacity? Wasn't he the idiot who was at the helm of the WB when they cancelled Roswell? (Or do I have that all wrong, it's been so long!). I can't say enough about how stupid they are. ML over Moonlight and your tears! I emailed one of my friends to tell them and they were shocked about the cancellation. People who don't frequent boards like our's are usually shocked if they're not hooked in like we are and expecting news like the Upfronts. I know I'd have been clueless if I didn't haunt these boards.BBW - cute cat with the mismatched eyes! I love the name Bobcat, that's cute too. Thank you so much for the story about the suffragettes, I had not idea that that happened! I should have known the story, but sadly my education in that area is sorely lacking. I'll never take my privilege to vote for granted ever again. And I'm glad your ankle's healed. Podmom - glad you're feeling better now, but take it easy on the ankle for a while. Wen - I hope you get the best scenario for your veins and that you soon get relief for the swelling. I can't believe it's been a year already, wow, doesn't time fly? did you all see this? There's a link to the story below. Crazy! ![]() Pit Bull Trapped in Man's Car Engine Tiger!__________________ "Life is hard; it's even harder if you're stupid"--John Wayne | |||
