| Podmommy Happy to see you're back! And caught up! ![]() Don't you just love those people who can just sleep? No matter where? I wish I could do that too. ![]() The porch looks amazing! It's so beautiful! I wish I could sit there right now and just relax. I love the colors and that table (near the plant) is adorable! I actually like the orange in it. It brightens it up.You are very welcome! I'm glad podad was there and was able to help you out. It's probably really hard to not have your girls around you, especially when you have such a tight relationship. But don't worry! They'll be visiting and so will you and everything will be just fine! ![]() I just noticed something! Em looks just like you! I usually don't notice things like that but I just couldn't not notice it in that pic. I enjoyed all of the pictures! all__________________ Don’t worry about the future; or worry, but know that worrying is as effective as trying to solve an algebra equation by chewing bubblegum.----- Baz Luhrmann You don't have to be crazy to be my friend.... | Hi Everyone! ![]() I'm exhausted! Had a big weekend planned... go shopping with MOTHER all day Saturday, then car shopping with No.2 son and Lainie Sat. nite, and more shopping with [/b] MOTHER [/b] Sunday, and more car shopping with No.2 son and Lainie Sun nite.Well, best made plans... (sigh) MOTHER decided to spend the night Friday night so that I wouldn't have to go pick her up Saturday morning and that we could get an early start, except... she ended up having a freak accident at my house! ![]() I have a sunken living room and she mis-judged the step and fell! She ended up twisting her ankle so badly that she can't put any weight on it at all! ![]() It's been a nightmare, especially her trying to go potty! We've been using my computer office chair as a wheelchair to take her to the potty, which is no easy task, let me tell you! It looks like she's here for the duration, until she's well enough to put weight on her foot, which may be a very long time! So in the mean time, she's bunked out on my couch and being waited on hand and foot, (which she's used to anyway when she's here). ![]() So needless to say, we haven't done ANY shopping at all! ![]() So that's been my weekend so far. (sigh) Poddy, I hope you enjoyed getting together with your friends today. And it's true... if they are true friends, they came to see you and not judge you by your belongings, no matter how quaint and simple they are. ![]() And I hope you and Poddad had a nice time alone yesterday to enjoy each other's company. ![]() I hope you still are not frazzled. ![]() And sorry to hear that the ocean is freezing. ![]() LOVED the pics!!! Everything is quaint and beautiful! I don't know why you were so worried?!!! ![]() Your girls are beautiful!... Love the 4th of July Drinks! LOL! Very festive! LOL! And Love the table you found and painted! So pretty! Plus you covered the seats yourself?! You did an excellent job! It's a beautiful set now!!! I have one similiar except it's in black. ![]() Your place is not too small by the looks of it either, as you stated. It looks lovely! ![]() MyrnaLynne, Good for you on getting new sneakers! They sound really cool & cute too! LOL! Enjoy wearing them. ![]() Oh, and we have those cheap stores too... really cheaply made clothing...not worth buying as it wouldn't even make it thru' one washing! I always pass those stores up too! I'm glad you had a good time shopping with MLette. ![]() As for David Tennant, after a while, he kind of just grows on you. I wasn't too sure about him at 1st either, (as I just loved Chris E.), but now I do love him as the Doctor as well. He's done a really great job as the Doctor. (But I don't like that 'bed head' look. Never did, never will.) Vero, I understand why you are taking the secretarial jobs... just to get work, but hopefully you'll be able to work in the field of your studies some day soon. ![]() And that's great that you had a nice shopping day with your sister. That's always fun! ![]() Well, I've been writing this all day long, (on and off), and I'm finally going to post this... Hugs to All, ![]() Wen __________________ JB's Obsessed Fan#64 ( I LOVE JASON BEHR!!!) ![]() "God never gives you more than you can handle. | Wen, so sorry about your mother twisting her ankle! I feel bad for all of you. Ankle sprains do take awhile to get better. Rice, Ice, compression, elevation (RICE), that's what they recommend. Mr ML used to hurt his ankles a lot, playing basketball. Very smart t use the office chair - LOL, I was thinking about rolling Mr Boss around in one of those the last time he showed up at my office, but thankfully he was getting around pretty good that day. ![]() for Mother!LOL, VB I am one of those people who can sleep just about anywhere too. As long as I lay off the caffeine, that is! Otherwise I'm wide awake. Although I had some iced tea this weekend (how can you avoid it in the summer time) and it didn't bother me too much.Wow, Poddy that porch/house is beautiful! That's the color we painted our house - blue and white. Love the awning! And the shell table. I wouldn't worry about the tan/orange, it is sort of sand/beachy looking (and matches the awning), and all the other colors pick up the colors in the fabric of the chair! Awesome decorating! I'm with everybody else - we all want to come down and sit on your porch! ![]() Rustoleum is the way to go with repainting metal - I think they have a spray. Just put it on some newspapers on the grass (when it's not too windy) and spray it all over. They also make the brush-on stuff. I sanded and repainted the hand rails to our front steps (just ugly pipes) with black shiny stuff and they came out really really good. Although I repainted the white metal shelf in our bathroom that got rusty - and it just got rusty again. Fun with the reupholstering! Mr ML and I did that with our previous kitchen chair set - came out great and made us feel wildly competent at doing stuff (so not! LOL!) That's great you found special fabric for outside/the beach. Great 4th of July pix of the girls and fireworks are not that easy to photograph, so that picture is pretty awesome. Love the patriotic drink-and-shirt combo. I used to have a patriotic shirt years ago (red and white striped sleeves, blue shirt with stars across the front). Now I have some red/white/and blue mardi gras type beads - wore them this year out to the cottage. I think I found them in the park last year, the day after 4th of July! Discarded by some reveler or other. ![]() for Poddy with the life changing sadness. Your girls love you a lot, you get along well and are friends, so even if they go off and do their own thing, they won't be strangers. They'll be back!I was thinking about grandkids today - prospects for them don't look good, and if they ever come, they'll be pretty far in the future and I'll probably be too old and feeble to enjoy them or be much help with them. Just a random thought... Will have to take a picture of MLette and the new car (while it's still all shiny looking). ![]() This is Mr ML Jr's last week of work before he's officially laid off (he worked an extra month). sigh. His dad and I are really worried he's never going to find another job (sort of along with our worry that he's never going to leave home either). LOL, Mr ML said when he hits 30, we'll have to fix up the basement and send him down there to live... What a big joker. ![]() Yeh, I can see David Tenant growing on people - hey, I thought Jason was the funniest looking guy I'd ever seen - for about 2-3 episodes of Roswell - until I fell head over heels in love with the boy! ![]() The 'Twilight' books are about a high school girl, Bella, in the (dark rainy) Pacific northwest (moved there to live with her dad - folks are divorced - so her ditzy Mom could remarry/travel) and there are some, um, unusual 'kids' in her school, a family of them, who always sort of keep to themselves and are way too gorgeous to belong there - and she and one of them (Edward) fall hopelessly in love with each other, even though it's Not a Very Good Idea! LOL! (Because he really wants to drink her blood and kill her - only he won't, because he loves her so much.) She is also torn between him and another guy Jacob (long story - 4 volume of story, in fact). and she wants to become a vampire like him, so they can be together forever/not get older, and he is horrified by the idea, etc etc. It sounds totally sappy but it's just wonderful! ![]() LOL, I was going to wear the jazzy new sneakers today but they are so pretty, and have so much whtie on them (the tongue/middle is white) - I was afraid I'd get them dirty (we'd have another torrential rain storm out of the blue)! We had another thunder/rainstorm yesterday and I think one the day before too - crazy crazy weather (but at least it's not too dry!) Oh, just saw at IMDB that the 'Twilight' folks were all at ComicCon- maybe that's what Wen was mentioning. The actors, the book writer, the film director. Robert Pattinson had very messy spiked up haystack of hair. He really is a pretty good vampire boy, he's so odd looking. Gosh, every year when I hear about ComiCon, I'm sorry I didn't go - but the huge mass of humanity there just freaks me out (not to mention the cost of going cross country to San Diego for a scifi convention weekend). Oh well, not as sorry as last year when Jason was there with TWO different movies! __________________ Jason B is #1 with me "I'm with the vampires" Last edited by MyrnaLynne : 07-28-2008 at 11:12 AM. | |||

| Hi Everyone! ![]() Thanks Everyone for the well wishes for MOTHER. ![]() MOTHER is up and hobbling now. Yay! Took a lot of convincing tho' to make her put weight on that foot, but finally she came around and tried little by little. She's using her walker sometimes and sometimes her cane, but the main thing is, that she's using them! Much easier on us, that's for sure. Still waiting on her hand and foot, but that's pretty normal anyway around here. ![]() She's getting better little by little, TG! And hopefully will be heading home within a week or so, TG!!!!! Yes, she tends to drive me crazy when we are together too long. (sigh) Poddy, MOTHER says that your daughters are beautiful!!! (which they are!!!) And she loved all the pics that you posted. She said that when she was a kid, her parents had a beach house right on the water, and they kept their boat underneath like in car port, but it was built just for the boat, as they were that close to the water. She said that your beach house is just lovely!!! And seeing yours brought back all the fond memories she had of hers when she was a kid. ![]() Too bad they didn't keep that beach house in the family... instead they sold it many years ago before I even came along. ![]() MyrnaLynne Ooo, yes, I'd love to see a pic of MLette with her new car! And here's hoping Mr. ML Jr. finds work soon. But at least he can collect... that should help a little. ![]() And yes, I guess that's where the Twilight actors were, at ComicCon for the pre-view of the movie. I had just skimmed the article, but mostly was looking at the main character's picture. ![]() Vero! ![]() Hugs to All, ![]() Wen __________________ JB's Obsessed Fan#64 ( I LOVE JASON BEHR!!!) ![]() "God never gives you more than you can handle. | Glad Mother is doing better! It's a rare family that holds onto those beach houses. Mr ML's family had a cottage on a river and my grandparents had a cottage by the ocean and they sold them - usually for such tiny amounts of money, too! Compared to what things cost nowadays! Like for a couple of thousand dollars. I only knew one friend, who had a family summer place on some island in Michigan, and they'd managed to keep it in the family and everybody went out there in the summer. sigh! The days of regular folks being able to afford a summer place is long gone! Nowadays, people are lucky enough if they can keep their roof over their head! The economy is so scary - even Suze Orman was saying the economy is scary right now. I read today that some state student loan-granting outfits don't have enough money to make student loans this year! ![]() Podmom's daughters are definitely both beauties (apples don't fall far from the tree). LOL, too bad I couldn't fix up Mr ML Jr with one of them. ![]() I just hate to think he's going to end up as a lonely bachelor. Oh well, maybe when the braces some off, somebody will discover he's her Prince Charming. ![]() He's been awfully stoic about these braces - what a nuisance they are, with every sort of food catching in them and having to keep after them. I forgot and brought him some chiclets gum from our trip to the mall and he said "I can't chew gum" - oops, I forgot! (We had to chew it for him - hee hee!) I haven't bought sweet corn all summer because he can't eat corn with braces. Oh well, it's hard to digest anyway... ![]() __________________ Jason B is #1 with me "I'm with the vampires" | |||

| Hi guys ![]() Well the girls left a littlw while ago.....we did have a nice time....they enjoyed the town, the beach and were sweet about the house...they could tell I was a bit worried they wouldn't be comforatable and made me at ease.....the weather was hot and sunny...the ocean was clean and with small surf...very clear...cold but doable...we had two nice days on the beach and we did the rides on the board walk and had my fav pizza and the kids really had a great time......it was really nice to share this with good friends thanks sis for having Viv!!!!! You guys are so sweet to praise the apples...let alone the poor old tree....I saw some pix of my on the beach building a casle with the kids...oiy, in the bathing suit all bent over from the side...oh the humanity but the girls(younger than me by alot) and their kids took some great pix....here are two![]() ![]() any way...tired (alot of cooking/and beach facilitating but happy and relievedWen Tell your mom thanks....very kind of her....and that is great that she is moving...every day will be better hang in there and tell her I hope she is healing. Cool that they parked the boat under the beach house! I wish they still had it for you!FLoating in the water would be good for your legs. ML Thanks love. It is ashame when beach houses, farms etc leave families The inheritance tax often makes it impossible to keep them these days. Poor MrML jr and his braces....he gets it at they are worth it which is to his credit. He'll find someone....more girls looking for relationships it seems to me....one of these days one will snag him...and then you'll have a daughter in law teasing.....YOU were a great daughter inlaw so it happens I just cut left over corn off the cob ..have you tried cutting his off the cob? It's easy.we get that alot vB I think the hair helps, falling asleep....later :hug a;; ok I'm passing out __________________ ![]() | |||

| Hey all!!! Wednesday. Tonight we're going to celebrate my brother's birthday. He'll be 24. We didn't go on his birthday because he was too busy (with a new show going up and work and coffee shop, what can I say, he's a busy guy). My mom had her heart set on this Italian restaurant (and honestly so did I) but my brother decided he wanted to go somewhere else. I like that restaurant too so I'm cool with it. Wen, I'm so sorry your mom had that fall! That must have been scary… we're always get scared whenever my grandma falls down… and she does it quite a bit lately (she fall again since breaking her wrist but this time nothing happened thanks G-D).Happy to hear she's on her feet now… hobbling but still standing and trying to walk so that's good. Thanks I hope so too… I really wouldn't like to stay stuck with a job I don't like. ![]() podmommy, well that makes sense. When my mom was after her surgery that was what the dr. told her too. He said that she should take her time getting back on her feet but that she shouldn't just lie down and not do anything. Taking small and tiny steps but she should take steps. Yea that would be something. It would be a pleasure being there. Maybe some day when I'll get over myself and take that trip to the US that I've always wanted to take. ![]() Happy to hear you had a good time with your friends and their kids. They seem nice. ![]() I was shocked that I noticed it. ML, well tea never woke me either… maybe it's just coffee that does the trick for us. ![]() I hope Mr. ML Jr. will find another job soon. It will probably take a whole (I should know ). As for leaving the house as long as he is pulling his weight around the house it's not that bad… I think… anyway as long as he helps around the house then he'll probably leave when he's ready to.So am I the only one that finds 'Twilight' similar to Roswell. The girl and the boy who can't be together because of some sort of a weird reason? Anyway it actually sounds good. To me anyweay.![]() I know what you mean. I'm always thinking whether I should (or shouldn't) wear new shoes because I'm afraid of getting them dirty (weird considering the fact those are shoes)… but I always get over it because I really want to wear them only to regret it what the shoes do get dirty. but I get over it soon enough. Well I have to agree braces are definitely no fun. Well that's it for today… My mom is home today. She took my grandma to a check-up about the wrist. Everything seems to be ok… she'll have it for about a month so everything's fine with that so far. ![]() all__________________ Don’t worry about the future; or worry, but know that worrying is as effective as trying to solve an algebra equation by chewing bubblegum.----- Baz Luhrmann You don't have to be crazy to be my friend.... | LOL, so considerate Poddy of your friends to dress in colors to match your beach house! They are youngsters (with youngsters)! I'm so glad everything went so well. ![]() OMgosh, I so hear you about the photos - just got back some of me MLette took, bending over my birthday cake (from the side, from the back) and I am soooo fat , I just wanted to shout at myself in the picture: "Don't eat that birthday cake!" Definitely need to work on this (again). My friend's (very big) hubby in FL is on a diet and lost 35 lbs already (he probably has 60 more to go) - he had the type 2 diabetes and now that he lost weight, it went away! And MLette's BF (who is a big big eater and not a big guy - except sideways) is watching his weight and lost 10 lbs in 2 weeks already - I hate men! LOL!, well, you know that's not true!! But it's discouraging how they can lose weight once they decide to (and it's such a struggle for us). Also 'hating' Angelina Jolie because I read, after just giving birth to twins, some director she's going to work for told her she needs to GAIN 28 lbs, because she's to skinny. SIGH! Who ends up too skinny after having twins?! (MLette is turning 25 in August and I still haven't lost that 'baby weight' yet )VB it is silly to worry about shoes, but these have a lot of white on them - I wore them to work yesterday to show my friend and then I put them back in the box! LOL! I was thinking I can bring them to work in the winter (wear boots to work for the snow and mess, then put the groovy sneakers on indoors). Crazy, I know! Oh, scary that grandma fell again. Some old people get very bad about falling a lot, when their balance gets bad. Or they are like Mr ML's old cousin, who climbed up on a chair to fix her curtains and fell off and broke her wrist! She should know better! Whenever I climb up on the ladder to change a bulb or do something like that - I think about her now (and try extra hard not to fall off!) ![]() Happy birthday to your brother VB! He is a year younger than MLette. Too bad he didn't pick the restaurant you liked better. That's good that he's busy. I think Mr ML Jr will want to take some time off from work before he finds another job - I just think he doesn't realize how long it will take to find another job (so he could look for work, and still have a long vacation). Oh well, he will be home with the dog and have to take him for walks etc, and that will make him want to get out of the house and go back to work! ![]() True about just cutting the corn off the cob - Mr ML's one brother had a cleft lip thing, and had to do that with corn because of that. But what's the fun of that? Might as well be eating canned corn. Yes, I was just going to say that over on another thread where we were talking about 'Twilight' - it does remind me a lot of Roswell, even though it's totally different. Guy who is 'different' with a big 'secret' and 'powers' - smart girl who falls in love with him and vice versa. Guy is afraid of getting too close (for her own good), tries to take a step back (with disastrous results). Soul mates in a big big way - and there is even a scene where they are lab partners and the teacher shuts off the lights to show a video, and they have such incredible electric chemistry going between them, they have to try so hard to keep their hands to themselves!!!! ![]() I'm back to re-reading the first book again (2nd or 3rd time, I forget). Should finish it just in time for the final book to show up - I hope everybody is happy with how the story ends!! LOL, and then I can read all 4 of them over again until the movie comes out in December (I so need to get a life...) Woo, 'Eureka' is back! My two friends are just crazy about it - we like it, but don't love it (kind of hammy and silly, but the Sheriff guy, Colin Ferguson, is such a cutie/good actor and such a nice-guy character). Very expressive, too, like Jason. ![]() __________________ Jason B is #1 with me "I'm with the vampires" Last edited by MyrnaLynne : 07-30-2008 at 11:15 AM. | |||
