just erased my post

man what was I saying?

Thank you Wen for that link. Em and I were talking last night about it.she has read it of course being obsessed with Twilight these days. We thought it was crazy for her to post it when she could have made a fortune from it..we think she will finish and publish it because of that....her publishers will be begging and pleading with her!

I liked the movie....it was fun to see. My fav was the friend Jessica she was a hoot. I think the 2 leads were cast well but I didn't get some of the choices within his vampire fam what did you guys think? I didn't like it anywhere near s much as Roswell but I am only on my first book....I have lots of books/movies/time for an obsession to grow it is so much fun to enjoy a light read after many years

The best part is to share another thing like this with Emily reminds me of the good ol days with Roswell...when she was a wee one living at home

Thanks ML I appreciate that........my posts can be like a cryptogram...a fun challenge

Jason play a father Scottie ......... I think that makes us grandoogieladies say it aint' so ahhh that cracked me up

I made hotcakes for the kids for breakfast ...and Liz kept 3 down(I make really skinny small ones) gonna go clean up and freeze the rest....bb in a bit and see if anyone is around

You are such a great Mom Poddy coddling the poor wee pregger daughter. That baby will turn out great in large part from your good cooking and loving care!

Squee, Rob on the cover of GQ - I was just scanning the magazine racks the other day, wondering when that would be out. Doesn't he have the most giant head, though? Well, it's mostly hair.

In solidarity (and because nothing was on TV as usual), I sat down last night to re-read 'Midnight Sun' (because, like Twilight, I blasted through it the first time through). Like her books, it's hard to 'put down' - just read about 150 pages of it last night, breathlessly! I could listen to Edward's thoughts (and him listening to everybody else's thoughts) all day long! I even sneaked a few more pages this morning.

I agree Stephenie M. is missing a boatload of money not finishing it and publishing it - but when the mood isn't there to write, you can't bring it back, and she was so upset by it being leaked, it took all the joy out of it for her. Or at least that's the story. And it's not like she's not already rich rich rich!

I did see the typos in there and some words an editor would have changed later(like 'drug' as the past tense of 'drag') but it was nothing for her to be embarrassed about. There is at least one wrong word in the books too ('peeled' instead of 'pealed' for sound of doorbell ringing). Sorry, I'm an editor, I just can't help myself! I actually corrected it with a pen in my copy.

I'm very excited that the DVD of 'Blood Ties' is finally FINALLY coming out for the US/Canada June 2 and available for pre-order. It's been a long long wait (it came out in the UK January 2008!) But they put in more extra stuff. I highly recommend it (at least renting it from Netflix) - just loved and adored that series, and it ended so cruelly and before it's time. sigh. Young Kyle is especially tasty in it, but Dylan Neal is not hard to look at either. It's a bit like Buffy, with the supernatural stuff, but also has the cop stuff, and a good vampire. And I saw a lot of the series online or rented from iTunes and I really want to see it, in order, on a nice TV (and all the extra stuff).

Hm, yes, I didn't picture a lot of the people from the books to look like the people in the movie. Hard for Rob to be the most perfect guy in the world, but Rosalie is supposed to be the most gorgeous woman in the world, most gorgeous vampire, and blond. Nikki Reed gets the b**chiness down, but she's not even blond, really. Bella especially, it took a long time for me to see Kristen Stewart in that part. And Billy Black and the Sheriff were both younger (and the Sheriff skinnier) than I pictured him - he was so good in that movie though, he had all the funny parts. I didn't like Mike Welch as Mike Newton, even though I loved him in Joan of Arcadia, and they made Eric's role much bigger than in the book - I don't know. It was different. Jessica was so funny - so much like a real high school girl!

They start filming the 2nd movie soon, and I can't wait! Although it's going to be a much more difficult story to tell (and to portray well).

Nah, it's not Roswell, but it's very enjoyable anyway! :>

Well, U2 came and went yesterday - lots of hoopla (which I avoided). I was amazed everything was gone this morning - took them 2 days to set it all up, and vanished after the show was done. Then again, they must have a huge huge crew (for a band of 4 guys). As I said, lots of bands play there, and I've never seen one that had THAT many trucks, such BIG trucks, that much equipment. I have no idea where they fit it all in that little theater!

Didn't leave a mess or anything either. Just a bunch of metal barricades this morning, waiting for the truck to come and take them away. Have my nice peaceful park back again and Elmo can take his usual morning walk. They bussed the people who won tickets to the concert to the theater - they must have all assembled someplace else. It was all very well organized. But wow, U2 - they are 'after my time' - I missed the 80s raising my kids - but I know they are the Beatles of their generation and rock gods and also do wonderful charitable stuff too. Good music, good people. It's all good. They put their band together the year I got out of college! And they were like 14 or 15 years old (I was curious and read up on them a bit this morning). Also wondered what Bono and the Edge's real names were.

Sorry Poddy that you lost your post. I hate when that happens to me!

You're most welcome. But it wasn't a link, it was the actual partial draft of Edward's POV. It's absolutely wonderful!!! I LOVED it!!! I just wished she would have given us just one more day of it... I mean she ended it one day earlier than I wanted! I wanted to know what and how he felt about the next day! It was a VERY important day!!! Just one more day!!!

I wish she'd finish the story and publish it too.

I just keep re-reading it over and over, along with the Twilight Books... like MyrnaLynne said, you just can't stop!!! LOL!

I'm so glad you liked the movie too! Yes, I think Rob and Kristen did a good job as the leads, especially Rob! I thought he was fantastic as Edward!

As far as his family, they really didn't character build much, but hopefully they will do a better job of that in the up coming movies.

It's funny about Edward's family... they changed all the actor's real hair color and/or made them wear wigs. Strange, but that's show biz I guess, LOL!

I'm so glad you can share Twilight with Emily! It really is nice to be able to talk about it with someone, especially with someone close to you.

I have my niece Shannon that I can talk Twilight with, which is sooo wonderful!!! She's such a big fan too, and she's madly, deeply, intensely in love with Robert Pattinson... she's also 19 years old!

Did you get to see the picture I posted on the Previous Page of Rob on the April Issue of GQ? He looks mighty fine.

And don't sweat the small stuff about your typo's... we all make them, so no biggie!

I'm glad Liz is able to keep some food down, poor thing. Morning sickness is sooo tough. UGH! I remember it well.

I hope she's over it soon.

I go to Pain Management today. Kind of nervous about it too. LOL! It's the unknown that makes me nervous. I'm sure it's just a consult today, but still, I get a bit nervous in new places, with new Dr's.

Geesh, you'd think I'd be used to it by now, with the amount of Dr's I have!

Speaking of Dr's and all that,,, I just got a letter in the mail yesterday from the x-ray group that does my mamograms... seems it's that time of year already for a mamo. Geesh, it's been a year already?!!! (sigh) Time sure flies doesn't it!

And I have to find a New GYN because my GYN moved away and closed her practice, which means all the other Dr's that worked in her office are now Gone too!

I really liked her too! Now I have to find a new one, and I don't even have a clue where to begin. I'll have to ask my reg. Dr. if he could recommend one for me.

MyrnaLynne!

Going to scoot for now...

Biggest Hugs to All,
Wen

I got the mammo letter yesterday too! Only mine isn't until July! They like to plan ahead!

Good luck with the Pain Clinic! I hope they have good ideas.

I saw TWO robins outside on the hospital lawn - SPRING is definitely coming!

You can read Rob's GQ interview on a link on the OT thread - oh poor Rob - he is just such a strange, strange boy. He really should be home with his family looking after him, not wandering around alone in LA. Beautiful but very odd and takes self-deprecating into the realm of self-loathing. I truly worry about that boy!
I hope he comes to terms with it all and settles down and gets happy, like Johnny Depp, with his French singer lady and his little girls.

The family really didn't get much to do in the movie. You didn't learn much abou Jasper or his ability. And that 'Cullen family crest' they all wore in the movie (product tie in!) really irked me for some reason, because it was so obviously them trying to come up with a marketing item, and it's not in the books at all.

It's too bad Rob and Kristen can't just have blue eyes in the movie but of course the whole eye color thing is a big part of the vampire mythology of the books.

Ugh, so much work and it just keeps coming and coming and I think my head might explode!

Poddy don't fret mezzi didn't even see your typos Glad you enjoyed the movie.

hehe now I've started typing I realise I have nothing to say. I've been so tired the last couple of days. Wed and Thurs are my full on days. I'm a little more awake today but not much but all my teaching is done for the week. I've been so good this week. Three walks I went on.

I'm trying to lose weight as I'm getting tighter and tighter in my clothes and the jeans I'm wearing are already the 3 lot of buys in the 'whoops I need bigger clothes' journey. I mustn't let myself get much bigger. So I'm proud of myself but man, exercising exhausts me

Good for you mezzi! I'm at the same point - the skinny jeans are put away and the bigger jeans are getting tight. Although I went too far the other way and bought two new pants are are too big! Congratulations on working on it. So far I've bough a diet book (that I've only read a little of and then went and baked brownies) and I've saved about 100 offers to join gyms, but that's it - haven't done that either.

Which brings me to the wise 'rules of life' from Thomas Jefferson I saw today:

1. Never put off till tomorrow what you can do today.
2. Never trouble others for what you can do yourself.
3. Never spend your money before you have it.
4. Never buy what you do not want because it is cheap.
5. Pride costs us more than hunger, thirst, and cold.
6. We never repent of having eaten too little.
7. Nothing is troublesome that we do willingly.
8. How much pain have those evils cost us which never happened.
9. Take things always by their smooth handle.
10. When angry, count ten before you speak — if very angry, a hundred

Not sure what he means about the 'smooth handle' - I guess not doing things the hard way? Or getting more flies with honey than vinegar? I especially need to work on rule #1! And #3 is 'the credit card rule' And #4 should be 'the WalMart rule' - I once bought pads for my kitchen chairs, which I didn't even want/need, because they were so incredibly cheap! And then, they were so cheap, the ties ripped off and the stuffing came out almost immediately and I threw them away. #8, the 'don't worry, be happy' rule, is a good one too - but also hard!

WOO, boss just left half an hour ago for a long weekend! Not that the mouse can play because the cat's away - mouse has way too much work on her desk. Poor mouse!

Finished reading 'Midnight Sun' last night - it is very ARGH-worthy that the story stops right where it does (just before their trip to the meadow). SIGH! I hope she reconsiders and does the rest of the book someday, because I'd like to have a printed copy of it (reading online is very tedious) and because I want to read the rest of it! Just fascinating!

Everyone!

Yes Mezzi! Congrats on your determination on loosing weight and getting healthier! I wish you a lot of luck with that. It's so hard sometimes, especially with the older we get, and trying to manage our time to get the exercising in with busy lives.

I hope your fatigue eases up and gets better for you. It's difficult to function feeling tired all the time... believe me I know, as I feel like that all the time.

But they say that exercising helps fend off the fatigue... I hope it does in your case.

And yes MyrnaLynne, that's Exactly what I was talking about... how MIDNIGHT SUN cuts off Right Before one of the BEST SCENES!!! I wanted to know and see it thru' Edward's eyes!!! I wanted to know how he felt!!!

Oh how I wish Stephenie Meyer would finish MIDNIGHT SUN and Publish it already!!! I Just LOVE Edward's POV. I just keep re-reading over and over again too! I'm just so in love with Edward!

Where's MY Edward?!

Well, I went to Pain Management yesterday. What a LOOOONG appt!
I was Really nervous, and darn those machines that check your Vitals gave me away! LOL! My blood pressure was up, along with my pulse and respiration! Geesh, can't keep anything from these peeps! LOL! Oh well, I'd been found out! LOL! And of course the HAD to Comment about it.

Anyway, after a long interview with the Pain Specialist, and then the exam, I was accepted into the program. (Well, I have to pass the drug screening, but that's not a problem), and the Dr. gave me some options that we discussed at length.

1st, he's sending me for an MRI to see what's what in my back... he wants to see my discs and soft tissue. Then after that, maybe some physical therapy because my range of motion is virtually nil because of the pain. He wants me to try some stretching exercises thru' PT. (sigh) Not looking forward to that!

Then he wanted to put me on some Very Strong Meds, which I flipped and said NO!!! He wanted to put me on METHODONE!!! Aaaahhhhhh!!! NO FREAKING WAY!!!!!!!

Then he said, "Ok, We'll discuss pain med options later when you calm down." LOL! I guess I freaked HIM out with my reaction. LOL!

Then he proceeded to tell me that there IS HOPE for me!!! That they could try and see if this one procedure would work on me, and if it did, then they could proceed with the follow up procedure.

I'll explain... they insert a needle with anesthetic in the area that holds the nerves and bundle of pain recepters, and it usually lasts a day. If it works and I feel relief, then they set up another appt for the procedure to burn away those nerves and bundle of pain recepters, and Wen becomes Pain Free!

It sounds too good to be true!!! I, I can hardly believe that I could be painfree! Well mostly painfree, because they're only concentrating on the major painpoints in my back, but I have serveral.

And they can't do anything for the pain about my Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome, except for heavy duty pain meds, and I say NO THANK YOU to that!

I don't want to be a walking Zombie, drugged out of my mind!!!

But to have relief from the pain in my back would be an absolute G-d Send!!! Because that's where I have the worst pain.

So, I'm hopeful that there is HOPE!

TGIF Everyone!

Hugs,
Wen

Wen I'm glad they told you they had a procedure!!! Good for you for "just saying no" to the drugs You want a long term solution and how could methodone be that I have heard of killing off the nerves like that..I SO hope it works!!! Good you are getting the MRI you need to know what you are dealing with. I need to actually buy the 2nd book....Em gave me the 3rd(I forgot the 4th at Lizs ) Em gave me the one about aliens too.have you guys read that? Sorry she quit at the good part. Speaking of the meadow.....I was dissapointed with how they did that in the movie. Wasn't he supposed to be in a sleeveless shirt? lol But really I wanted a better view of the sparkly skin. Emily wants her Edward too ......her bf annoyed her the other day...and I jokingly said he's no Edward...and she was like."I know..that is the trouble..nobody is Edward"

ML It was Rosalie that bothered me the most. She looked like an average girl not a goddess If you are fixing actual books with your pen you must go crazy with my posts I've seen lots of Robins.....my daphs are struggling through the leaves in my woods too.gotta get out there and uncover them.I like that list...common sense always makes sense I was wondering about smooth handle too. I don't like reading online either

Mezz Arrg.me too......starting a diet today...I seem to not be able to when Viv is here......I've gained back 2/3rds or more of my 18 lbs I lost last year frustrating to keep losing the same 20 hopefully this time I can make the "lifestyle" change last.. I wish you a restful weekend.....keep excersizing though...you'll build stamena soon Teaching is exausting!

vB,LTL and Scottie

It's funny, in that last photo, Rob almost has 'fangs' even though the vampires in that universe are fangless. Boy, I think that was the hardest thing to accept, as fangs pretty much define vampires everywhere else!

Although how they come down and go back up always mystified me, just from a medical/dental standpoint. Then again, you can't think too hard about 'living stone' or how THAT physiology would work either. I'm all for 'a hard man is good to find' but one of STONE?... yeowch. I'm just saying.... Poor Bella. Or lucky Bella, I'm not sure which!

Yes, that's the problem - nobody is Edward! Nobody is that perfect a man. Although he does have some controlling/ stalker/ abusive boyfriend tendencies, if he were a normal guy and not an obsessed vampire guy. But since he's Edward, we forgive him/can overlook that.

It bothered me, too, that Bella didn't freak out in the movie over finding out that Edward had been watching her sleep and listening to her talking in her sleep etc. She was majorly upset in the book but in the movie it was just like "huh.. okay.. cool.. let's make out."

I hope you get all the books together, Podmom - you don't want to read them out of order, as the story goes along. At least not the first time through!

Great news that the Pain Clinic was good Wen and they have some ideas that might help. Funny, 'House' just put himself on methadone for his chronic pain. But then they dropped it after one show. I am liking him and that show less and less. Which is too bad, because my best friend is suddenly madly in love with House/Hugh Laurie, and getting caught up on all the past episodes/the whole series. Kind of like what Mr ML is doing with Battlestar Galactica right now.

Your flowers/seasons are way ahead of us, Poddy, we just had the beginning of some green shoots sticking up - but that was before the last 2 snowstorms covered them up again. It was only 10 degrees this morning - brrr. But Spring is coming... some day!

Yeh, Rosalie wasn't nearly drop dead gorgeous enough. (Couldn't they have gotten Heidi Klum to play her or somebody! LOL!) But the director, Catherine Hardwicke, likes Nikki Reed, because she was in 'Thirteen' that she directed, and directors like to work with actors they know/like/use them again. Catherine Hardwick is extremely cool. It would have been interesting if she'd been allowed to direct the next movie as well. Although I thought the wire work/stunts were pretty bad looking in some parts - you don't want people on wires to, well, look like people on wires! Or jumping on a trampoline or whatever. I though they totally wasted their money with the 'magic carpet' vampires walking 30 mph thing -it really didn't register in the movie at all. They could just have done regular walking. Oh well - loved it anyway!

It would be nice to take a ride on Edward's back - unfortunately if he carried most of us, he'd get a hernia/bad back!

Yes, the meadow scene was different too - better in the book I think. They had a lot of trouble with the sparkly special effect too. Well, Rob isn't built nearly as nicely as Edward Cullen, so I think they avoid shirtlessness with him. He's a bit of a twig boy, I think.

Good luck with the dieting. I hate having it 'come back' after all the work of getting rid of it. I don't know how those actors do it - gain weight, lose weight, snap of the fingers! I'd like to try those Nutrisystem meals, but of course Mr ML would be offended that I didn't want to eat his meals anymore. Or maybe he'd be relieved, who knows?

ML I know.....Edward would be going to Wen's pain clinic oh but wait...he's super strong...it might take him I know.....I didn't want to say anyting more that was negative(don't want to be a buzz kill) but those scenes climbing the trees oiy...although the view from up there was one of my fav parts
my daphs aren't blooming but they are more than half way up 10 below!

WHat is Robs personality problem? Weird?negative? insecure? All of the above? Too bad he can't enjoy it all how old is he? Maybe he'll mature into it...hopefully.

I won't read them out of order.....can one get it in paper back yet do you know? Hope so......I like cheaper and less heavy!

I'm thinking they will have more $ for CG effects! We can hope.

wishing you and everyone a nice weekend

Not sure exactly what it is with RobP - he's extremely nervous and insecure, blurts out whatever comes to mind, hates being looked at (great trait in an actor!), can't look at himself on screen (ran out of the Twilight premiere and sat having a panic attack in his car), hmm, afraid of flying, self-deprecating to the point of neurosis, offbeat wacky sense of humor... I don't know what it is exactly but the boy is odd and I worry about him. I think he is one of those lonely dreamy kids who stayed in their room a lot playing by themselves (or in his case, playing music too) and is suddenly FAMOUS! I don't know how anybody could stand the 24/7 scrutiny of papparazzi and fans everywhere, never mind somebody as sensitive to all that stuff as he seems to be! Everything seems to bother him a whole lot. And is seems like his coping method is drinking. sigh. But that may just be because he's a boy - he's only 22. Hopefully he'll grow out of it (or get a really good therapist!)

LOL, yes, Edward can stop a van, so he probably could lug several menopausal Mom's around on his back at once. Not that he would want to! I bet Kristen Stewart probably doesn't weigh 100 lbs. Most of those Hollywood gals are little twig-women. I remember putting my hand on Majandra's arm at the end of the Roswell party, and my thumb and forefinger fit right around her upper arm! Twig-girl! (Okay twig girl and pretty big hands. If Rob has girly hands, I have guy hands! :p)

Oh yeh, now that the film has made $350 million (and still counting), they are going to spring for better FX and a director who is more used to them as well. I hope this new guy is good. The werewolves to me are a real stumbling block. They stunk in Jason's werewolf movie, Stan Winston notwithstanding (may he rest in peace) - if you do guys in suits it looks fake - if you do CGI - it looks fake! You just can't win, in the werewolf game. Maybe if they film real wolves? I don't know.... Sorry getting ahead in the story!

Hurry up and read the next book!

Thanks for the video goodness! I really need to watch Roswell again, it's been way too long. And my memory isn't what it used to be. Ah, the back of his neck though... so beautiful. Even that man's neck is gorgeous.

Lucky Ms KaDee to gets to neck with that neck!

Well, I think a lot of actors are nutty, but yeh, he's very young. sigh. We should send him Emily, but he's too strange, she doesn't need any strange boys (she might be good for him, but not vice versa). oh well - he'll go back to work on 'New Moon' very soon, and then be well taken care of and looked after for awhile (craft services!) LOL! Pampered like show dogs, actors on a movie set.

Just heard his Salvador Dali movie 'Little Ashes' is going to be playing in NYC in May! And Kristen Stewart's movie 'The Cake Eaters' just opened up at the theater near me (where U2 was so recently). Back to obscure movie theater-dom now. Of course I never manage to get to any movies there!

I hope PodDad cuts the poor bulbs some slack and doesn't drop stuff on them. Guys! You have to keep an eye on them every minute!

Oh, I heard Alex O'Loughlin (vampire star of Moonlight) made a pilot for a new show, Three Rivers, about a Pittsburgh transplant surgeon (right in my field! LOL!) I can't see Alex as a surgeon - he is way too blue collar looking to me. Maybe it's the tattoos and the cigar. Oh, and he's going to be a guest baddie on 'Criminal Minds' April 29. Glad he's working! An actor has to act. I don't know if that pilot will get picked up - unless it's a version of Grey's Anatomy and a sex show masquerading as a doctor show , ahem. Pittsburgh! I used to live near there. Very cool. He'll be there filming it, sometime. Cool!

speaking of Moonlight, it's on tonight - have to go see it!
