Thanks for the Great Start to the New Thread MyrnaLynne! I just LOVE the Jason Decorations!!!

Hi Everyone!

Ugh! My Server has been down for nearly 2 hours now, and it’s driving me insane without the Internet, and especially No FF! And of course I can’t sleep so there goes that idea… (sigh)

Well, MOTHER went home last night. I do love her, but she drives me off the Deep End after being here too long! She’s Always doing Something that makes me I n S a N e!!!

Like take yesterday morning… She was taking her Meds, and she dropped a pill on the floor, (which she does quite often, but that’s another story), but anyway, she DOESN’T pick it up!!!!!!!! She just leaves it there! Thank Goodness I saw her drop it, and I immediately went and picked it up and lost my mind and yelled at her for NOT picking it up, because if Teddi would have gotten a hold of it, it Could Have KILLED HIM!!!!!! And She KNEW she dropped it, but didn’t feel like picking it up right away!!!!! See what I’m Dealing With????!!!!!!!! Aarrggghhh!!!!!

I can just imagine what it’s going to be like when she can no longer care for herself, and will probably have to come live with me!

I think of you Poddy, having Big Viv 24/7 straight for 6 weeks at a time! You Must Be A Saint!!! (But I always knew that you are Our Angel here on Earth!)

To Totally Change the Subject…
Does Liz have one of those Planner/Journal Books for Expectant Mothers? They are Really Nice to have at the Beginning of the pregnancy. There’s a Nice one Called “Great Expectations” which is a Planner and a Journal which is really nice!

It’s just a thought that she might like to have one.

MyrnaLynne, I’m so glad that your neck is all better now! I hate to have even a hair on your head hurt!

Hopefully you won’t have any more Snow! And it will just continually get warmer… (I’m doing Wishful Thinking for you!!!)

I was thinking, (Oooh, scary!!! LOL!), anyway, are you going to ask for the New Catherine Hardwicke’s Book for your Birthday? Sorry if I asked you that already, but I can’t remember your answer. (My mind isn’t what it used to be!)

You haven’t mentioned it in a while, but have you decided yet what you have planned for your Anniversary? Last you mentioned you were possibly thinking about a trip to someplace tropical? Were you thinking about taking another Cruise? That would be nice. Anyway, I was just wondering.

I just checked the Server’s connection again and it’s Still Down! Grrrrrr!!!! I wish they’d hurry up and fix it!!! I could be missing Great Stuff on FF!!! LOL!

Well, my Bro’ Still hasn’t gotten back to me about taking MOTHER out to dinner for her Birthday Saturday. I just don’t know what his problem is?!!! He makes me CrAzY when he does this, which he does more often than not. Grrrrr!!!!

As soon as the Server comes back up, I’ll have to Email him Again! UGH! He really makes me InSaNe!!! Aarrgghhh!!!!!

Yay! Finally, my computer is back up and running with Internet!

Going to Post this now...

Biggest Hugs to All,
Wen

I was waiting for somebody to come along and admire our new thread!

Today has definitely been one of those days , with the boss wanting me to redo everything from yesterday, the computer being wonky, the document I needed becoming unavailable, my password to a site for work suddenly not working and I had to call somebody to fix it, etc etc!

Must be some weird star alignment affecting computers. My server at home was wonky last night too, I tried to post something and it wouldn't work (after the new thread-making). Glad you got through!

Oh I hate dropping pills on the floor, because I know how expensive they are and sometimes they roll under the fridge or dishwasher and are hard to find. Then again, old people hate to bend over! LOL! I saw a very tall old man with a cane in the grocery store drop something - and he stood there, and he looked down at it - and I picked it up for him. You could tell his back wasn't up to bending down that far, and he was debating whether it was worth bothering or not. Didn't even think about the dog maybe eating them and being poisoned.

Speaking of the dog, he was very strange last night - he chewed up a fabric umbrella cover that must have been on the floor (that little tube you can store your umbrella in, but of course they never fit inside there again once you remove it! LOL!) He has never chewed up anything, ever, since we got him! He also licked up a whole bunch of hair and threw that back up (along with pieces of fabric from the umbrella thing), so he must have done it because his stomach felt bad, and he couldn't eat a lot of grass like he usually does when he feels sick, because he was stuck in the house. It was very strange (and pretty gross). sigh. I hope there's nothing wrong with him. Maybe he's having a second puppy-hood or Spring fever?

Yes, I might ask for that Catherine Hardwick book for my birthday, and our plan to go to NYC to see Jason's movie for our anniversary isn't going to work out, because I realized the doctors are coming to Boston for a big meeting that weekend and I'm going to have a meeting with the editors (from all over the world) and the publisher etc, so I shouldn't leave town! It's a rare chance to see each other face to face. I told Mr ML expecting he'd be disappointed, but he already forgot I even mentioned it! LOL! Some good things about having a bad memory.

I had a dream about Rob P last night! Well, he was in it. Maybe wrapping myself up in the Edward blanket, and then reading Eclipse before bed had an effect. Think I was at a film festival and saw him there. Think I was patting him a lot! LOL!

Yes, Podmom is an angel for being so good to her elderly mother, with how difficult it is.

She needs that grandbaby to cheer her up!

Oh well, should go back to work, and get some lunch too.

Yes, you did a Wonderful Job with the New Thread! Thanks so much for Starting the New One!

Geesh, you were having Computer Problems too! That's too strange!

And Yes, I also don't like dropping pills on the floor because sometimes they are just too hard to find! And I worry about Teddi finding them before I do!

But MOTHER drops her pills All The Time and it drives me crazy because half the time she doesn't even realize that she's dropped them, and I'll just happen to see a pill on the floor, and then I freak out because it could have been Teddi that found it instead of me!

She worries the daylights out of me with her pill dropping! And yes, she hates to bend over so she won't, or does it hardly ever. (sigh)

I remember she had dropped one of her very strong high blood pressure pills and she couldn't find it, and her dog Misty must have gotten a hold of it, because that poor dog couldn't even walk without leaning again the wall to help her stay upright! And then she vomited buckets afterwards and was so very, very sick for days that all she could do was drink water, and that was only when WE BROUGHT IT TO HER.

I DON'T want that happening, or even worse, to my Teddi! But when I tell her over and over to please be careful with her meds, she just brushes me off, and doesn't want to hear it! She refuses to see how dangerous it is for Teddi, which makes me sooo angry! It's like she just refuses to listen to me! Grrrrr!!!

Gosh, I think you are right... that Elmo had a sick tummy and needed to throw up and had no grass to help him so he improvised. (Unfortunately for you tho' as you had to clean up the mess!)

I hope he's feeling better now and doesn't feel the need to chew up anything else.

Well, my Teddi has decided that he doesn't need to go any further than my patio to go potty while it's raining because he found a new spot to go potty there. He's decided that the plant that I have on my little patio table is a good spot to tinkle on! (My poor plant will never be the same again!) LOL!

Oh, that's good that you might get that Catherine Hardwicke's New Book for your Birthday. It really looks like a nice book to have.

Also, Rob's New Book, "Robert Pattinson Album" is out now and I was reading some little bits of it on-line and it tells about his life and also has 75 photo's of him in it. I'm not sure if I'll get that one for my niece or not, as she just might beat me to the punch with getting that one for herself. LOL!

Aww, that's too bad that the Doctor's/Editor's Conference is the Weekend of Your Anniversary. Talk about bad timing... but you can still plan for another weekend to celebrate your Anniversary, right?

And I'm glad that Mr. ML wasn't disappointed, but he didn't remember it at all???

Wow, I think you have the Magic Rob Blanket... sleep under it and dream about Rob!!! LOL! Now that's pretty Cool!

And yes, Podmom really is a Saint! Not only for taking care of her Mother, but also for all the good she does for her Community too!

She's going to be a Wonderful Grandmother.

I'm getting a bit hungry so off to make some lunch...

Biggest Hugs,
Wen

Hi guys, haven't been here for ages and ages. Thought, as it's a new thread I'd drop on by and say hello. You never know, you might remember who I am

I read your news Poddy and it's very exciting. I go have dinner with my friends parents each Thursday evening. The youngest son Scott and his wife Emma have a 15 month old. The other week Scott took her for a bath and then brought her out in a towel for rubdown. She spewed all over the towel and herself so he put her down on the floor to get a clean towel and she promptly peed all over the kitchen floor. Emma and I were laughing and laughing and poor Scott is saying, 'stop laughing and get me a wipe.... stop laughing....' of course once finished peeing she immediately took off running with everyone chasing her to try and clean her up before we walked everything into the carpet

So have fun with your grandchildren Poddy

Sorry you've been sick ML and sorry about your Mother Wen.

What is this movie that you wanted to see ML?

mezzi has new jobs this year. I gave up my school job and am now tutoring flute at all different schools around the place. It is wonderful to be out of the school stress. I spend most of my free time falling asleep though as I have to get up so much earlier now and I always get tired when I start a new routine. Hopefully I'll balance out soon though.

MyrnaLynne, You have EMAIL!!!

Mezzi!!! It's sooo good to see you posting here!!! You have been sorely missed!

Congratulations on the New Job! Sounds like you like it much better than the old one. I'm so happy for you!

Hope you get your sleep schedule worked out soon tho'! I really know how it is to be tired all the time, so I can relate.

And thanks for the hugs about MOTHER. You are such a Sweetie!

I have to run for now... but I'll be back later.

TGIF!!!

Biggest Hugs to All,
Wen

mezzi of course we haven't forgotten you! Glad you are out of the school stress and fluting around to different schools. But getting up early is tough.

Oh, it was Jason's movie "Frost/Last International Playboy" that is going to play in New York City May 29 - was going to get Mr ML to go down there with me and see the movie and have a romantic get-away. But now the trip is not going to happen. Well, it still could happen, as Mr ML said, May is a long time away (to him - to me, it's around the corner! LOL! That's the difference between us - he's the grasshopper and I'm the ant).

LOL, you are going to scare Podmom with those spewing and peeing and running nekkid baby stories! Funny! My college friend had a story about when her parents left her with a babysitter, she poo'd on the ceiling! Must have been 'jet propelled'... ahem. MLette used to spit up a lot as a baby - she spit up on just about every single article of clothing I owned.

We went to visit Aunt Millie last night and were out from after work pretty much until bedtime! We didn't leave his Aunt's house until 10 pm! MLette and I were falling over, we were so tired. Got home, walked the dog, and fell right into bed. Love visiting her, but it shoots the whole evening. But she is just such a lovely person and what a conversationalist/hostess! She was telling about some TV show she'd seen and acting it out/making these faces and we were laughing our heads off.

Oh Wen your mother's poor dog, eating her pill and nearly getting killed! What a terrible thing. I just told the drugstore I didn't need those childproof caps anymore - but now I keep pinching my hand with the snap on kind.

Yep, boy dogs will lift their legs on anything, and especially anything new.

Thanks for the tip that there's another Rob Pattinson book out there. I'll go check it out. Maybe I'll ask for that for my birthday too. :> Will check that email tonight.

Warmer today, I hope the snow will go away again, we still had quite a bit of it, and some big piles that were left over. Everybody is so ready for SPRING, we can't stand it!

Friday today - woohoo! And Moonlight tonight - I'm enjoying watching it again on SciFi - it wasn't a perfect series but it definitely had its moments and they cancelled it way too soon. oh well, don't get me started on THAT again..

Hi Everyone!

MyrnaLynne, I can't imagine how in the heck did that baby manage to poo on the CEILING?!!! I think the babysitter probably threw the diaper up in the air and it hit the ceiling... that's the Only way I can see it happening! LOL! Now why on Earth would she do that is beyond me, but maybe she was just Strange?! LOL!

My No.1 son used to spit up A Lot too! He had one of those tummy's that couldn't tolerate much. As a matter of fact, he couldn't have regular baby formula... he had to have that awful soy based stuff, (YUK!), and he spit up on everyone, everything, and everywhere! EWW!

Aww, that's nice that you went and visited Aunt Millie. She seems like a really nice lady. And who knows how long you'll have her here on Earth, so it's really nice that you and your family go visit her regularly.

I had an Aunt Millie once, but she passed away... she was MOTHER'S sister. Really lovely lady, and I miss her alot.

Yes, Poor "Misty", ( MOTHER'S Dog, who has since passed on), ate that pill that MOTHER had lost the day before, and Misty found it, must have been on a Friday night... (Of Course on a Friday Night when the Vet was Closed and wasn't open all weekend!) [sigh] We really thought we were going to loose her!

One would think that MOTHER would have learned from that, but nope! Not her! Grrrrr!!!!!

And Yes, my Teddi is getting lazy in his old age and not wanting to go too far in the rain to go potty, so he (to my Surprize!!!), just stopped on the patio, lifted his leg and Tinkled on my plant that I have on my little table in that patio! My poor plant!

I have since moved the plant, that's for sure! LOL! So he's going in the yard again. LOL! But I hope he doesn't do that everytime I put a plant out on the patio now! At this point, I wouldn't put it passed him!

Oh, did you have the chance to check out Rob's new book... It's called 'The Robert Pattinson's Album' and they let you take a peek inside on Amazon, which I think is nice of them to do that.

Did you get to check your Email?!!! Nice Video, eh?!!! I just HAD to send it to you... AND he Actually ENUCIATES his words! I thought you'd like it... I hope you did anyway.

Well, my Bro' finally got back to me about MOTHER'S birthday. And for some reason, my gut is just telling me that He Is Lieing!!! He said that he and his family can't make it to the Restaurant with us, because his daughter, Jenna, has to work until 5, but they can come later for cake and ice cream.

(Jenna sets her own hours since she's working "In Home Care for the Deaf" while she goes to College and the lady that she works for is VERY FLEXIBLE and I know that for a fact because Jenna's Always telling me how LUCKY she is because the Lady is very easy going about her hours and when she can work. )

I don't even know where to begin, I'm just that angry!!! He's been pulling this the last couple of years now... Always coming up with an excuse so he doesn't have to take his family out to dinner at a nice Restaurant. Grrrr! He is sooo incredibly CHEAP! Grrrr!

And he's loaded! It's not that he doesn't have the money, he's VERY COMFORTABLE!!!!!!!!!! Which even makes me more angry!!! Grrrrr!

He will ONLY take his family to places like Burger King and such, but Heaven Forbid to go to a nice sit down Restaurant! Grrrrr!

And the Restaurant that we are going to, one of MOTHER'S favorites, is Very Reasonable, so I don't understand his problem?!!! Grrrrr!!!!!

I mean come on, MOTHER only has one birthday a year, and who knows how many she has left, and he can't put himself out this one time and suck it up and spend a little money and go to the restaurant and make her happy?!!!

He's just VERY CHEAP!!!! Grrrrrrr!!!!!

And of course, once my Bro' gets to MOTHER'S place for the cake and ice cream, no one else in the room will exist except for my Bro' in my mother's eyes. (sigh) Her Golden Haired Boy can do No Wrong. (sigh)

And don't get me wrong, I am Not jealous of my Bro'... Not in the least!!! It's just that it infuriates me that he has Always been the Perfect Child, because he is Her Son! Her Boy! Her Male Heir! UGH! She's got that Old World thinking that Boys are Better than Girls. (sigh)

Sorry, had to vent there.

Wow!... It Really did get warm in your neck of the woods today! I hope it melted a lot of snow!!! I noticed a nice warming trend for the next few days... enjoy it!

Oh, did you hear that Dakota Fanning is Really going to be Jane in 'NEW MOON'?! Yes, it's Official.

Oh, I also found out Why Kristen wasn't at the Oscars... She said she WASN'T INVITED! That's TERRIBLE!!!

Poddy, So, your Liz wasn't a good sleeper either? Poor you! I know how that is/was. My kids Never Slept either. And Never Slept thru' the night either... Gosh!... They STILL Don't! You should see, it's like a freeway in my house at night... this one's going for water, and that one's going potty, and then just a couple of hours later, they're at it again, but this time, one is raiding the fridge, and then another one is getting some water, then going potty again... See! And of course I'm alway up awake, to witness all of this! LOL! My house runs 24/7!!!

And You've Got to be KIDDING?! ME A SAINT???!!! I'm FAR, FAR from it, believe me!!!

But that was awfully nice of you to say that of me!

I'm so glad you had a nice time at your Bro's! He should have you & Especially Big Viv more often!!!

How old is your Bro's granddaughter? You never said. She sounds adorable!

Enjoy Spoiling Liz! And Safe Travels too!

Hope Everyone has a Great Weekend!

Biggest Hugs,
Wen

Morning

Vent away Wen.......I'll vent with you grrrrrrrrrr.......I agree....that excuse sounds fishy I don't like you stressing about it though.........try to enjoy your time and detatch from your mothers selfish son and enjoy your lovely ones.....it's your mothers problem.....not yours. Speaking of brothers,,,,,,I am just going to start helping my brother do the right thing.....calmly just saying what will be happening....ie during this coming summer mom has to come to his house to stay some of the times because I just can't keep coming down half of every week.....the key has been to make mom understand that it's not fair to depend on me and my sis and not be concerned as much about impacting our lives as she is about impacting his.........SO after numerous discussions..she gets it...but I hadto do the hard hard thing for me(and I think you too) confront with truth in love and set boundaries..........you know what ......it is working ...although I realize big Viv(amazingly) looks like a lamb next to your mom but it is empowering. Here is a book that has really helped me see ways I was handeling things inefectively and how to recognize and change my behavior.just in case you want to check it out. The Dance of Anger.a womans guide to changing the patterns of intimate relationships...> Amazon.com: The Dance of Anger: A Woman's Guide to Changing the Patterns of Intimate Relationships: Harriet Lerner: Books hope that didn't sound preachy

ML Hi.hope your weekend is going well

Thanks for the Rob vid, Wen, although I thought her putting his head on other fitter) bodies was kind of strange (and a little insulting to our 6-packless boy). But the other (actual) pictures of him were interesting.

Also though it interesting he said he'd never really modeled, just did that hand modeling but in one of those books it said he modelled for an expensive line of men's suits (no wonder he looks so good in a suit!). Anyway, he likes to down play stuff and make fun of himself (and his girly hands).

Thanks, I looked at the Rob album. I don't think you could peek at it before, because it hadn't come out when looked at it earlier. Or maybe I just didn't see it.

That book looks good Podmom, I wish I'd read it while my Mom was alive, maybe it would have helped. sigh.

Yes! Beautiful warm day here, snow is melting, melting (but still here), ground is unfrozen and soft (and muddy). The dog found some frozen bread this morning when I walked him and he laid down in the park on the snow and was chewing and chewing and chewing... finally dawned on me, he'd found bread, and a BONE! We would have been there all day, with me standing there like an idiot waiting. So I made him get up and bring the bone home to chew, so I could get some breakfast and start my day (and stop standing in the park like one of the statues).

Family party today, the big 'birthday party' for everybody. I went out and got 3 lottery tickets and put them in three cards for the people who said "Oh, it's my birthday too." Mr ML is baking one of his date breads. I want to make some brownies (but of course we always want to bake at exactly the same time.) sigh.

I got 2 papers edited and sent off on Friday and half of the next one, so that's good. I have to really work on those every day, as we have a pile or about 2 dozen papers waiting for editing now. I just finished up December! And there's a big bunch for January. Hey, I'm a staff of one, and I do a second job for Mrs Boss as well. Only can do what I can do, right?

Hope everybody has a good weekend! That's too bad about your brother Wen - nothing more unattractive than cheapness (well, maybe wife beating) - I liked this guy Charlie once, but he was really cheap (and he also didn't like me back). oh well... Later ladies!

I don't mind venting in the slightest. It seems you have good reason to vent too. Selfish people really p*** me off badly. Partly because I was brought up by a completely unselfish mother and was raised to be a giver, to always think of the other person. Of course, that has led to giving too much and doing things for people that I would rather not have done simply because I'm looking out for them and then all these other people would just wimp out grrrrr. So my motivation for being mad is partly saintly and partly not

I'm so glad you've got Big Viv to see things in a more balanced way. I think it is so unfair that females are expected to do everything and the males always are excused. Even the daughters in law are expected to muck in sometimes and the sons still do nothing. That always bothers me.

Now for my vent. I went in to talk to my sister this morning and she said that while talking to dad yesterday she had asked if they were both well. Dad said that 'he wasn't supposed to be mentioning it but actually no'. Apparently The Stepmother has something wrong - we're not allowed to know what - and is seeing a specialist this week. Dad of course had to say something because he wouldn't lie and say everything was fine when asked a direct question. I'm always mad at The Step anyway but I think it's unfair to put muzzles on family like that. Sure don't tell every man and his dog but don't keep family out of the loop. Now I'm imagining all the worst things possible of course.

So I ask the sister if she's annoyed that it's not being talked about and of course she's not because she doesn't react to anything and is worse than Jane from Pride and Prejudice in seeing only the good in everyone.

I'm thinking maybe a hysterectomy but of course don't know. Really, really really don't want to have to do the whole cancer thing again. Time will tell. And then they've planned this trip around Australia and I'm thinking, 'typical that she puts that in jeopardy when dad finally decides he wants to do something'.

So that's my rant and vent I'm not ashamed to admit it's all about me not any of them

It's been ages since I've seen a Jason movie. Is Frost thought to be good? Coz some of J's choices don't work out much as movies when all is said and done.

Talking about cute guys. I'm loving The Mentalist at the moment. Simon Baker is so cute with that grin that he gives. I like his cheeky character. I liked him in that lawyer series he did before too. Didn't like him so much in The Devil Wears Prada but I think he did the best with the words he was given.

OK, I'm going to have to post more than once a week, because I miss so much and then have so much to catch up on.

First, though, thanks ML for the beautiful thread start -- spring and Jason -- what could be better? I hope the multi-birthday party goes off well. to all concerned.

ML: How did you get into the kind of work you're doing? Did you start out in lit or journalism or anything like that?

Wen: Yes, you are a saint. Saints can be angry, impatient and resentful -- but they keep doing what needs to be done. Sorry to hear your brother is such a pain, too. I swear cheapness is genetic. My grandfather lent his car to my parents for their honeymoon -- with an empty gas tank. Then my father would squeeze a dime until it screamed, and one of my brothers and one of my sisters are the same way. My sister was helping my mother figure out a new budget -- she wasn't poor by any means -- it was just figuring out much she needed to take from her IRAs. But anyway my sister said offhandedly that she could just drop her charity donations. Jeeze -- they were very reasonable in proportion to my mother's income, but sister just saw them as an unnecessary expense. Talk about retentive.

mezz Congratulations on your new position -- sounds like there's a big weight off your shoulders. It's always tough getting in the groove of a new job, especially if it means getting up earlier. I suppose the time change won't help, but then everyone will be miserable along with you this week as we adjust.

poddy: That book looks really good -- and it sounds like it's been very effective for you. My mother was the same way about expecting the girls to do everything and always thinking the boys had more important things to be doing. We all worked, we all had kids -- everyone equally busy. Just a different era.

Speaking of different eras, someone on another board said she wouldn't watch Life on Mars (where somehow our hero got transported back in time to 1973), because she couldn't stand the way they treated women. Try living through it! I find it pretty true to life back then. And, oh, yeah, it's another favorite show that's being canceled. Sigh.

Well, it's 8:15 and I still haven't had dinner, so I'd better pry myself away from the computer. Hope to be back sooner this time.

We are enjoying the Mentalist too! It's not that good a mystery show, he is just so cute, with the crinkly smile and cheeky character. Exactly it!

I really need to rent Devil Wears Prada because Adrien Grenier is in there and now Simon Baker - we never saw it. Going to put it on the Netflix list!

I just watched that Drew Barrymore Cinderella movie that was recommended, with Dougray Scott (nice prince!). They certainly spared no expense with the horses and castles and coaches and all that. Although the ending wasn't really a surprise!

Mr ML likes Life on Mars too. He's also suddenly really gotten into Battlestar Galactica (now that it's getting over).

Oh mezz, very worrisome about the step being all hush-hush about some medical thing. Secrecy is worse than just talking about it, because people always assume the worst! But it's probaby just her generation/the way she is. Some people like to just carry on and let everybody think everything is fine. LOL, not us!

The family party was good, except my sister in law has a teensy house and a big family, so it was a little crowded and loud and not enough spots to sit. We ordered in Chinese food and then she had a big cake and we gave birthday cards with lottery scratch tickets to the three 'designated honorees.' Of course my one sister in law was complaining that her son's birthday was in March too, nobody included him (but he ended up not coming anyway). She was sort of half-joking, sort of not.

I can see them having a party for this one sister, she's always been down on her luck and she just lost her job, so sort of a sneaky way of maybe helping her a bit (I noticed some people stuck cash in the card, in case the tickets were losers). They scheduled the next get-together in July at the one brother's cottage.

I just felt bad leaving the dog home for so long by himself and him getting his dinner and walk late, but he was okay with it. Mr ML's family is pretty great. We even pried Mr ML Jr away from the computer for the day and the littlest girl, who is in kindergarten, took a shine to him. She was such a hot ticket, dancing and making up games and entertained us the whole party nonstop - G-d bless her mother, to put up with that energy every day (and 2 older kids besides). She is such a funny kid. Then again, her mother, our niece, is exactly the same way!

Hmm, how did I get into medical editing? Well, I majored in English and Biology and my first job after college was typesetting the New England Journal of Medicine, and I realized I wanted to edit the articles, not just type them, so then I got a medical editing job at Lahey Clinic, and I've done various typesetting, medical typing, desktop publishing etc jobs, and medical transcription. Just kind of fell into it. Would have liked to be a doctor, but pocket calculators were invented a few years too late and I couldn't do the math.

Interesting theory LTL about cheapness being genetic. People can take the generosity thing the other way, too. My friend insists on tithing 10% - even while they were filing for bankruptcy! I say, if you don't have anything to give, you don't give, or don't give as much! Telling people not to do nice stuff is like my Dad telling his neighbor not to bother flying up to wherever to see his grandchildren do something or other why waste the money on airfare and put up with bad weather etc - which is why my folks were pretty rotten selfish uninvolved grandparents - they couldn't be bothered to put themselves out! Oh well, don't get me started... It was their loss, is my feeling! My Mom also used to tell me 'oh, you don't have to send them a card' or whatever, because she did, like that would take care of it for the Whole World! She tried to squelch every generous impulse, I swear.

Oh well, we just turned our clocks ahead an hour and now it's suddenly Really LATE! Time for bed.

See you gals tomorrow! MLette has tomorrow off from work so maybe we'll do something fun - or maybe we'll do our taxes together!
Gnite!
