| Hey all!!! We need some trumpets over here! I've finally finished reading everything! ![]() Well Shabath was great and mom loved the cake I've made. She actually knew what was going one (as I guessed she did). She always in the kitchen and she suddenly noticed somethings were just missing.... so she kept coming and asking me and my Mika where everything was. We just said we didn't know.... and then ran away. We didn't keep that secret that well.... but she loved the cake anyway.Anyway tomarrow morning mom's going to the hospital for that surgery.... I'm a little worried about how everything will work out after it... but I guess we'll be just fine. She'll be in the hospital for about 6 days and then she'll be coming home. Thanks everyone for wishing mom happy birthday! Mom says thanks too! We had some guests so they got to taste from my cake too so we have hardly any cake left. So sincer I've finally finished reading here we go.... It's gonna be a long one Just a warning...Scottie, that Bikram Yoga sounds interesting! I totally want to start taking some Yoga classes but it's the times they give those classes at the gym are just so uncomfortable. I keep hoping they'll change the times or something but they don't. ![]() Well I hardly remember the 80's... I was born in 1980's so most of it I was pretty young to care about what I wore. But my mom still goes with those sholder pads and I just don't get it! She definitely doesn't need it... Anyway I used to have some shirts with sholder pads but as I grew up I just hated them!ML, well you see usually we have subtitles (even when they talk Hebrew on the TV show) so I kinda got used to it so when there aren't any subtitle I turn the TV pretty loud too. I just try and hear everything and it's not that simple.... ![]() My dad treats the computer like that. If we want to leave the epartment and he has like 5 sec he will sit near the computer and we'll all end up waiting for him. It is kinda ennoying but that's dad.Well I don't have childern (as all of you probebly know ) but I have a lot of criticism about parents today.... I keep hearing about elementry school kids disrespecting everyone around them... including their own parents and I just get angry! I know exactly where it comes from and it just wrong! I'm not saying anyone over here is doing that but parents (or at least young parents) in Israel definitely do. A lot of them are just affried to say no and that's a huge problem. Well I had no pets and I lived in.... wait for it.... Abu-Hazira street! Can you imagine a stripper going by that name?Yea I have a lot of work waiting for me.... I get tired just thinking of it! And you know the funniest thing? My grandma wants to help! That alone isn't that funny but she wants to help me by doing the living-room's windows.... and you have to climb a ledder for those! She's almost 80!!! There's no way she's going on any ledders if I have anything to say about that! I was so shocked when she came in one day and asked for the ledder! I would like to get help but that would probebly do anything but help! That's pretty cool your niece and dad have the same birthday! I hope your dad had a wonderful birthday! Well when I speak French it sounds anything but smooth.... I still sttuter.... But the vocabulary's getting pretty big so that's good.Sorry about that guest.... I'm with Wen tempons might help.... they do for me...... You're probebly in sunny Florida right now... I hope you're having a wonderful time over there! podmommy, exotic? My life? ok.... maybe..... well they're anything but to me. For me they're normal.... but then I guess they might be exotic for people looking in.... Well my fave Yiddish word is Hutzpa! The spelling might be all wrong but that in my opinion is the best word in that language! And it's almost the same in Hebrew. I don't have that much vocabulary in Yiddish but lately I just get what they're saying around me without trying. I can't say anything but I get it.... sometimes.... on losing those 6 lbs! You've probebly lost more since then but I just had to comment! I know how hard it is to lose wight. My mom and my sister are having sirious problems with that.Well we're living and breathing politics over here so we never get tired of that... but I get why you do. They whole Hilary/Humba/MaCaine thing is getting a littel to much... and I'm at the other side of the world!Wen, I'm glad you're putting your fot down when it comes to shopping. I swear sometimes your mom reminds me of a 3 y/o! It's completely ennoying! And I don't live with her! ![]() That is some nerv of your brother to innor your mail! I bet h's thinking that if he won't answer you'll forget about it! Don't you dare do that! It's about time he'll take a part dealing with her!Well I definitely feel like she appreciates me lately. She knows she can trust me with stuff after the surgery... she will have too. I feel like there's a lot on my hands now and I know that if I won't do some stuff they just won't get done and I know that she sees that. She keeps saying 'thank you's for a lot of stuff and when she does I don't really feel like I should get that. She needs the help and I should give it... I don't even think about it! It's just the way things are right now. I actually feel weird when she says 'tank you'. I keep asking 'what for?'. I don't really feel like I do enough.... Well with my brother's room I know that he won't do that alone and Mika (my sister) doesn't have the time. and it's not that bad... he's pretty ogenized and if I have a problem it's not with the stuff he has it's with all of the junk my dad put there. Yep my dad just takes control of my brother's room and put his stuff over there... thing is I just trew away some stuff and I know he won't even notice them! I can trow away half the things there and he won't even know. But I'm taking baby steps there. It's like I've said, my mom can't do it and nither can Mika so that leaves me. But trust me when I say that I get why Lainie won't even think of cleaning her brother's room. I wouldn't have either if someone else could have done it. Don't feel bad about not knowing Portuguese! I've heard Yiddish my whole life and I can't say more then 10 words in that language. Well I hope one of those pills will get the job done! That swelling can't just be there. There has to be something that someone can do about it. ![]() Thanks everyone for all of the 'good daughter' stuff. I really don't think I'm doing anything someone else wouldn't have in my situation. Things are a little compelicated right now and it's just the way things are. I still think I can do more and I will once my mom will be after the surgery... I will have Mika to help me but I know she won't be able to do everything. Would you guys believe I just sate and wrote this for over an hour??? I think that's way to much..... And I totally agree Scottie! We definitely need a Behr sighting! I miss him so much.... ![]() all__________________ Don’t worry about the future; or worry, but know that worrying is as effective as trying to solve an algebra equation by chewing bubblegum.----- Baz Luhrmann You don't have to be crazy to be my friend.... | we asked our Dutch cousins how they learn English so well and they said they get to practice it every time they watch a movie. So you Yanks are good for something. *mezzi slaps knee* I'm kidding I'm kidding. To many of you here for me to be making jokes like that. ![]() __________________ | |||

| Tried to post last evening and FF wouldn't let me. Saved the post and tried to post it this morning - hit some key and FFTTT - gone! Didn't have time to mess with it anymore before work... SIGH! I am having a bad day. Also now have a scratchy throat and think I'm about to get sick - which is what happens when you travel during flu season. ![]() Anyway, here's what I tried to say yesterday - and again this morning... * * * Sun 7:30ish pm I'M BA-ACK! Got home Sunday early afternoon, but it's taken Mr ML this long to relinquish the computer. And I did have to do stuff like unpack, eat very late lunch, talk MLette's ear off, walk the dog, etc. ![]() Not only did I need the flannel shirt, but this morning, waiting for the shuttle bus to the airport, I had on my scarf, jacket and mittens! It was freezing cold there today (at least before the sun came up). Actually I packed exactly perfectly - the only thing I didn't use was the bathing suit because Fri night there was a thunder storm and Saturday night it was freezing cold and got too late. (The 'guest' turned out not to be a problem/went away again thank heaven.) This convention has to be THE weirdest thing I've ever been to - I've been to a lot of conventions but they were always for a single thing - Roswell, Star Trek, Starsky & Hutch, whatever - so everybody there was into the same thing, so it all seemed pretty normal and made sense. Well, I'd been to comic book conventions years ago with Mr ML but I just went to keep him company, I knew I wasn't interested in anything there, which was pretty much the situation with this one, with the exception of the 2 guys I went to see and panel I went to hear etc. This was huge and anime and cartoons and comics and gaming and there was a skazillion people, most of them dressed up in the most bizarre outfits and I had no idea what 99.9% of them represented, which made me feel old and out of it and like I was dropped into an extremely foreign culture and I didn't speak the language - LOL, I was so excited when I finally recognized 2 guys dressed as the Blues Brothers and saw Silent Bob guy walk by (actually for a minute I thought it was Kevin Smith himself). I recognized the Ghostbusters and of course a few people in Star Trek/Star Wars outfits (who seemed sort of sad looking and out of place there to me) but the rest of it was totally uncharted territory! It was like being dropped into a alternate universe. ![]() Although I did admire the exuberance and energy of the people, the fun they were having, the enormous trouble they went to with their costumes and the incredibly uncomfortable costumes some of these people put on and wore for 3 days to the convention. And hey, I was going to see actors, and aren't actors people who dress up in bizarre costumes, endure discomfort and pretend to be somebody else? LOL, they just do it for their job and get paid for it, which is probably why they are so happy. ![]() Anyway will cut to the chase - I saw the Blood Ties boys Saturday - although the thing opened at 10 a.m. - I didn't know that and stood in line since 8:30 with the people waiting to get in (and I've mentioned I am NOT a stander, it was very difficult) - and then once I got inside - the guys didn't arrive til around NOON, so I waited for 2 more hours, and I was getting discouraged and just about to start crying, thinking they had partied way too much the night before (they did) and weren't going to show up/blow us off - after I paid in advance for a photo with them too. sigh. I didn't think they would because they are professional people and they are under contract/getting paid to be there, plus the lucrative $ they make from selling autographs and photos. ahem. Although Mark Singer/Beastmaster/V guy was scheduled to appear and cancelled last minute because of bad flying weather - I was thinking if anybody went just to see him and travelled a long way, I bet they were crushed! Also wished my son came with me, because he would have had a really good time, probably. Or maybe not - he enjoyed some of that stuff but doesn't go out to conventions, collect the stuff, dress up or anything - too conservative! Anyway, the beautiful guys (FINALLY) showed up and instantly All Was Forgiven! They are exactly as nice and beautiful as one would expect. Kyle is adorable and such a flirty boy with such an impish happy grin - he smiles like a baby does, squinting up his eyes and making a huge grin (only his has teeth, unlike a baby - giggle) - hard to describe but it's so adorable. Poor Dylan didn't attract as much attention, gorgeous as he is, but pushing 40 and sitting next to the irresistible young Kyle Schmid, it must have been difficult for him. He was very nice and he remembered my name from signing my picture, remembered it a few hours later when we got a picture (me and the 2 guys ) and 5 hrs later, after their Blood ties panel concluded and he was leaving and I thanked him on the way out, he mentioned my name again! Good with names, that guy. He's very intelligent and well spoken and funny - the two of them were so funny together. There was a little one in a stroller at the panel who was giggling a great baby laugh and he's a Dad, so every now and then a swear would slip out and then he'd be all embarrassed that he had to be in keep it clean Dad mode because little kids were present. Also went to a panel with Erica Durance (Lois on Smallvile) and Noel Neill - the orignal Lois with George Reeves! She looks exactly the same, with long grey hair and must be 80+ now! I really went to the panel just to get a good seat for the panel with the Blood Ties guys, but I enjoyed it too. Oh! And somebody asked Erica about her fitness routine (she has a body) and she said she worked out a couple of hours, 6 days a week - and does weights and cardio and - BIKRAM YOGA! :> Small world, Scottie I knew exactly what she was talking about. The photo guys are supposed to email a copy of the photo and if/when I get it, (I'd better, I paid extra), I'll post it. I had no idea I was so short! LOL! Dylan is like 6 ft 1, but Kyle is shorter (maybe 5'10"?). I guess I thought he was more like Nick Wechsler's size (my height or shorter) but Kyle was also way taller than me. Then again, so is my whole family. I guess I have a lofty opinion of myself! I think I'm taller than I really am, maybe because I got tall early in life and was tall for my age - until the rest of the world caught up and passed me. And afterwards, when I got back to the hotel, I went to the Japanese steakhouse near the hotel for dinner (lunch was ice cream and balkava) and - there was Kyle and Dylan having dinner! In my dreams I would have joined them but I ended up in the other room eating by myself. (And the idiot waiter gave me shrimp instead of smoke salmon in the cream cheese roll and I was SO UPSET and told him it was against my religion and he was lucky I wasn't allergic to shellfish and hadn't died - did they take it off the bill? No, they offered to bring me more food when I was done eating. Aside from that, best Japanese restaurant I've probably ever been to. But.. annoying! Shrimp! GAH!) Well, when I saw the guys there, I didn't want them to think I was stalking them on their free time -- also didn't realize til last night they were staying at the same hotel as me (and 99% of the convention goers). Of course it's a big mega hotel. I couldn't even find the other Blood Ties fans there. sigh.Steve Bacic was there, at the next table, and he was on one episode of Blood Ties (I haven't seen yet) and knew those guys (partied with them) and he went and heckled their panel, was throwing peanuts at them, generally playing the good looking actor boy fool. I didn't know him, but he had an array of pix from his roles and he's done a ton of different stuff. Good looking, sort of knobby nose. shrug. Adrian Pasdar was the 'name' star there, along with Erica Durance, but I wasn't paying any big fortune to meet them, esp Adrian when his wife is a Dixie Chick and they must not need the money that bad! Also didn't like them being treatd like A-list stars when the rest of them were stuck in one sort of big corral with tables around the edge. I spoke with Leah Cairns, who is from Vancouver and was on Kyle XY and Battlestar Galactica. Very pretty and nice and of course teeny tiny petite in person. She was very sweet. Had a guy with her, wearing a 'Wingman' t-shirt, - her wingman (boyfriend/hubby?). Felt bad for the older stars sitting around who didn't get much 'business.' There was a guy from Lost in Space, and a guy who was a Klingon in Star Trek and his son who is on Battlestar Galactica (don't know em) and the tall guy who was one of the phantom zone baddies with the chin beard (big dumb) in a Christopher Reeve superman movie. He was old, but still tall! LOL! Made me love Jason more that he gives autographs and poses with fans to be nice and doesn't make a business out of it. sigh. The whole old stars selling pix and autographs of themselves to get by at these things is sort of sad, too. It was very weird being alone and not knowing a soul - well I knew the name/face of Kyle's website lady from Copenhagen and I introduced myself to her, but she had a clique of friends and that was about all I saw of her. sigh. Hung out for 2 hrs waiting with a nice lady from Tampa (originally New Jersey) and her big and very understanding husband who tolerated her lusting after Kyle and snapped photos when she met him and reminded her to breathe and not pass out etc! LOL! It was like us with Jason. I mean, these guys are very nice and very handsome and sexy but I just like their show and think they are cool guys - don't want to marry them, have their children, nothing like that at all. But I definitely understand the feeling in others!! I hope nobody freaked Kyle out too much being weird to him, as it was his first convention, and he's just a young guy (23!). Dylan had done soap conventions when he was on Bold and Beautiful and soap fans are pretty wild I guess. Kyle didn't know Dylan had played a Chippendale type dancer on that show years back and his expression was priceless - gleeful and so amused and I was mouthing "YouTube" to him, so he could check it out and tease him more later. giggle. Dylan mentioned it under most embarrassing thing ever - said he's no dancer (white man who can't dance) and training to do that was hellish and also really embarrassing to do that! And now it's on YouTube to haunt him forever. LOL! There was a priest who came to see them, too, posed for pix etc - that was a little creepy - wondered if he was one of those gay stalker priests with the hots for Kyle. But maybe he's just a Blood Ties fan, eh? We wondered if he was a real priest or it was a costume and one of the people I was with asked and yep, real catholic priest. ahem. Oh well, Henry is a very devout catholic - even though he's a vampire.Jet Blue is so awesome. I sat next to a huband and wife who drank more gin in 3 hrs than I've ever seen imbibed from those tiny bottles (and then the wife pulling a sandwich bag of nips from home out of her purse). Seemed like perfectly normal older folks but serious drinking problem imho! Coming back sat between a big quiet young guy and older quiet lady who both minded their business. Love the TV sets in the seats - saw a Leonard Nimoy scifi movie directed by his son Adam, flicked around merrily. Got channels I don't at home, like BBCAmerica and Nat Geographic (Dog Whisperer) - Oh Podmom you sounded so much like that Dog Whisperer with that dog - maybe you have a secret career straightening out pets like he does. Oh well, I think most of Jason's fans are Alpha Dogs! ![]() OMG I think I'm in love with Javier Badem - the airplane had an interview with him on their NYTimes channel, and I kept catching different parts of it (they showed it over and over) and listening to him talk, gesture with his hands, his big heavy lidded eyes and that accent - must have been from thinking about him and his haircut and looking like him etc. LOL! Kind of kidding but he is muy caliente also, in a Robert Mitchum rugged sort of sexy Spanish way. Very well spoken and funny too, for a guy new to English. LOL - and we look so much alike! ![]() But mostly, I read my book - Oh, I am LOVING "Time Traveller's Wife"! It's a longer read than I expected - I still haven't finished it, and am having trouble putting it down now that I'm home. What a brilliant writer she is, what an intriguing story. I hope it doesn't turn sad and have an awful ending! Great book! Kyle had the most flamoyant shirt too - it was like a faux race car driver shirt, with patches from differen't 'sponsors' and said Texaco racing team on the back, but the sleeves had skull pattern fabric - it was really striking - just like he is! LOL! He was so sweet to this little boy in a wheelchair too - he's such a nice young guy. Sweet and funny. Dylan was saying working with him, he's like a 5 year old - mischief and energy and 'look at meeee!' jumping on the bed, that it was exhausting. giggle. But said with love. Funny, Erica Durance said Michael Rosenbaum was like totally ADD too. Acting is a very good job for high energy folks! Erica Durance was very likeable. Her husband (who originally was her acting teacher!) was there with her. The whole thing was pretty cool, but also extremely extremely weird as I was there for one thing only and the majority of everything else was of zero interest to me, surrounded by this huge zoo of freaky folk - huge convention hall filled with stuff I didn't even want to look at and people more bizarrely outfitted than you can possibly imagine. And then a few of us old ladies and some younger ones there to ogle the Blood ties guys and there for that reason only. It was... a trip! LOL!* * Glad to be home, hope I'm not getting sick but think I am. Had a really bad morning so far.. will answer your posts better once I get some work done around here/settle in! I was glad I met Kyle and Dylan even if it was a really stupid, selfish and expensive and silly thing to do. Have to get my film developed (and buy a frame for that nice photo). Such cute boys... ![]() __________________ Jason B is #1 with me "I'm with the vampires" Last edited by MyrnaLynne : 03-10-2008 at 06:53 AM. Reason: travellagged and can't type correctly | |||

| Okay shout outs - since I'm not getting anything done anyway.. ![]() Oh New Amsterdam is on again tonight! (As well as Kyle XY). I think I'm going to like New Amsterdam - decided it's pretty cool. Wen Super cuts - yeh, woman at work had nice looking hair and I complimented her and she said 'I got tired of paying $80 at the place I was going to on Newbury Street' (sort of like Beverly Hills part of Boston, fancy pricy shopping) 'so I went to Supercuts and paid $15'. And she was happy with it. Good for you for standing up to Mom and not rushing to help her with her glucometer. I think dogs, little kids, and unruly relatives all need to have clear boundaries set for them and could use some 'dog whisperer' techniques - although don't kick at her like Poddy did with the unruly dog! LOL! Although it is really hard for older folks to figure out new gadgets and such and frustrating for them - but good for Lainie for helping her instead and good for you for not dropping everything to run and do her bidding! And put those feet up, too! Oh, those pesky legs, I feel so sorry you have to suffer with that. sigh. LOL about the person named Ma'am. My gyno has a Cambodian nurse named Bic and I always think "like the pens.' about your brother wanting the baby on St Patrick's Day. Baby come when they are ready!LOL about the Evil Hilary ani and Chewie and Leia 'making wookie' together. ![]() Scottie I don't know how people can put up with big dogs who are so illmannered! I visited a house once and they had an Airdale who also ate off the counters, and leaped on me and knocked the box of chocolates I brought as a housegift out of my hand etc. He was a terror! Small bad dogs are bad enough, but when they are Rottweiler size, you can't put up with them. And I admit my dog is no angel and tries to bite visitors etc. ![]() VB about Mom and the shoulder pads - I heard somewhere that a lot of people get 'stuck' in a fashion timewarp back to when they were at their most attractive - like people keep the hairstyle they had when they were in their 20s or whatever. And unless they run into a show like "What Not to Wear" that shakes up their fashion style and criticizes them and makes them look at themselves harshly, a lot of people get stuck in a certain fashion era. ![]() ITA about kids being rude to parents, teachers etc. I am shocked when I hear the way some kids out shopping speak to their parents! They ran a shuttle bus from the hotel to the convention back and forth and the kids on that bus were pretty rude and rowdy and used bad language etc. I was wondering what the bus driver thought of all the weirdness! LOL! Abu Hazira, the Arab stripper girl! Sounds sort of sexy! OMG with the Grandma climbing ladders to wash windows. Tom's aunt climbed on a chair or ladder to do something with her curtains and fell off and broke her wrist! And I forget which relative of Tom's used to open the window, sit outside on the windowsill (with feet inside) to wash windows - and the rope broke/heavy window fell down on their legs and it hurt so much they passed out, and there they were, hanging backwards unconscious out the window, held there by the window across their legs! No, no ladders for grandmothers!![]() It is so nice to have grow up kids you can trust to take care of stuff. I was going off on my trip, wondering if I should leave money for them and then it was like "Hello! They all have jobs, checking accounts etc - they can fend for themselves now!" LOL, and also take care of the pets and whatever needs doing. They even set the clocks ahead for daylight savings, which is usually my job - except they missed my alarm clock! I was so lucky I noticed the time was wrong as I fell into bed yesterday.I think Clinton, Obama, or McCain would all do a good job/be better than Bush, so I don't really care, although I just don't like Clinton's personality, don't like her that much. I just think she's a mean and not very nice person. But any of them would do the job okay. shrug. Had one last shout-out note that said "Not man" and no idea what I was going to say about that! ![]() Florida was very pretty, with green grass and palms and water and flowers and those exotic birds they have down there with the long beaks and long legs. I was just as glad it wasn't miserably hot! Of course that whole Orlando area is just one big tourist area, all motels and various attractions and places to eat etc. It's tastefully build and pretty land, so not too tacky but, well - kind of tacky. It felt weird to be there and NOT be going to Universal or Disney or whatever. All those touristy places looked like a lot of fun to me - Wet N Wild, pirate whatever. Looked like more fun than what I was actually there doing! LOL! Hotel was also playing this muzak while I was waiting to go home and it was sort of really old time jazzy stuff (like Shiek of Araby) and I was rocking out to it and thinking that's what I'd like to be when I grow up - a jazz singer/girl singer with a band! LOL! Finally figured it out. Dream on, eh. __________________ Jason B is #1 with me "I'm with the vampires" | |||

| ML - glad you're home safely even if you've got a dang bug for your efforts! So glad you got to meet the vampire boys and they were everything you hoped they'd be and cute and stylish, silly and fun and nice to kids! Oh - and polite too! Makes me glad to know there are such nice people in show business, for the most part, those that I've met have been so wonderful! Thinking back to all the Roswell people, most of them gorgeous and fun to meet. Sorry the weird people seemed to outnumber the normal ones though, can't be helped though! Oh, and so glad you took that flannel shirt, who knew? Cold at night? Just like around here, but it's cold during the day too. I had to chuckle about the relative who got stuck backwards in the window, even if it could have ended very badly, I still chuckled! I'm going to try to watch New Amsterdam tonight, 8:00 is a much better time for me than 10:00 was. So glad you're loving The Time Traveler's Wife, I thought you would. Can't you just imagine Jason playing Henry? I seem to imagine him playing all of the literary characters that I fall in love with. ![]() An 80 year old actress who does Bikram yoga? Now that I'd never have expected, but why not, more power to the old gal! VB - glad you got all caught up on the thread, it's tough going when you get behind, isn't it? I hope your mom does well in her surgery, and her hospital stay isn't too tough on her, I wish her well! I'm glad she liked the cake even if she did seem to have it all figured out ahead of time. Tax time. I'm hating life right about now! to all!__________________ "Life is hard; it's even harder if you're stupid"--John Wayne | |||

| No, no the 80 year old lady is lucky she can walk! It's the young gal on Smallville who does all the exercising to keep that body-that-won't quit! Yeh, the BT guys were pretty special. In a moment of weakness, I showed my pix of them to the gals down the hall at work today (I usually keep to myself and don't work with them), and now I'm sure they all think I'm some sort of oggy-lady freakazoid. I brought them in to show my boss's secretary, who knew where I was going (and why - in fact, I sent her pix of them to see who I was going to see, too). LOL! Dropped off the little camera today, hope some pix come out, but I'm sure they'll be tiny pix of blurry people in the distance and nothing great - but hope springs eternal. The other camera I did arty scenery shots and carried it around and snapped things that interested me for the past few months - that should be a pretty weird roll of pix! ![]() Oh yes, I didn't even think of it but Jason would be very good at Henry from Time Traveller's wife! - he's definitely a fast runner! And has the floppy dark hair (and probably the skinny feet as well). He, and looks good nekkid. ahem Oh yeh, he would make an excellent Henry DeTamble. ![]() N Amsterdam is on here at 9 I think after Kyle. I'd better go check and see if I need to tape one to watch the other! (LOL, I suddenly have 2 Kyles and 2 Henry's - Kyle Schmid plays Henry Fitzroy and Kyles XY and Henry in the book.. oh never mind!) I was talking about Kyle at the convention and Mr ML got all confused and thought the Kyle XY guy was at the convention too.. yep, too many Kyles (not to forget Nick Wechsler, another Kyle). * * * Next day - yep the photos were about as bad as I expected but made the Kyle fans happy anyway. Arty photos came out nice and got a bonus surprise of Mr ML's birthday party in January on there! LOL! I am definitely liking "New Amsterdam" - cool flashbacks to civil war and surgery (very accurately portrayed imho with the saws - and Walt Whitman WAS a volunteer nurse in the Civil War, and ether was 'discovered' in the mid 1840s, so would have been in use at that time in the 1860s! Love historical acurracy and attention to detail!) Although him bragging about his past lives to everybody at work is still pretty weird to me. It's definitely a cool show. This was the next to last episode of Kyle XY for the season - the Big Prom next week! LOL! I don't know why, but I just love that show In my next life I want to come back as the Mom on that, Marguerite Macintyre. ![]() __________________ Jason B is #1 with me "I'm with the vampires" Last edited by MyrnaLynne : 03-13-2008 at 10:08 AM. | Hi Everyone! ![]() Yay! MynaLynne is back! ![]() LOVED your account of your trip!!! I thought about you the whole weekend, and of course prayed for safe travels too! ![]() I'm so glad you did this and got to see your Blood Ties Guys! I bet if Mr. ML Jr. would have gone with you, that he'd know a lot of those dressed up peeps because they probably were a lot of Anime fans there that dressed up. My kids go to the little conventions that come around here every now and then, and it's true, and kind of pathetic the way the older actors do this for a living now... just sell their autographs with their pictures. Sad, really. My No.2 son mentioned that Gil Gerrard (from Buck Rogers) has been at every convention he's been to, and the man looks older than dirt! But there he is, still smiling for the cameras... Click! $10.00! He did see Erin Grey with him once and he said that she's still beautiful! He also has a lot of Star Trek autographs, except for Shatner's. He just couldn't do it! LOL! Sorry the weather was cold. I was hoping you would have a nice break from the cold weather for a change. ![]() I'm so glad you went and what seemed like you had a good time! ![]() I finally got to see New Amersterdam last nite! I thought it was a good show. But I'm concerned that it's in HEROES time slot, and there has been no mention if/when HEROES is coming back?!!! I HOPE they come back!!!I bet Adrian Pasdar got a lot of questions on if/or when HEROES were coming back?! I can't imagine them cancelling the show, since it's such a Hit?! Well, I'm glad that you all were sitting down when I mentioned that I stood up to MOTHER! (Wouldn't want anyone falling down and getting hurt!) ![]() Vero, Sending my Prayers, thoughts and [Healing Vibes[/b] your Mom's way! Hoping for a speedy recovery really soon. ![]() Poddy, & Scottie! and to all the JOFs and JIT's! ![]() Biggest Hugs, ![]() Wen __________________ JB's Obsessed Fan#64 ( I LOVE JASON BEHR!!!) ![]() "God never gives you more than you can handle. | Well, until the good pix come, here's a photo of Dylan and Kyle 'setting up shop' (at NOON - ahem) and their eager fans snapping pix and witing to POUNCE! ![]() ![]() I couldn't go to Adrian Pasdar's Heroes panel, because it was the same time as my photo with the guys - had my priorities! I snapped a photo of him and his (huge) line of paying customers ahem - but it was from the distance and he's a tiny dark suit and a tiny head and tiny white shirt. giggle. Also got one of Leah Cairns hiking up the top of her dress before she posed for a photo. Mr ML wanted to see that one! LOL! Here's one of my arty pix that came out very nice - Storm brewin over the new subway station! ![]() Well, sore throat has turned into a cold and I'm feeling pretty blah. Taking me forever to get my work done today (might have something to do with fooling with my new photos?) ![]() LOL, I think Gil Gerard and Erin Gray might have been at that thing too, although I didn't see them. Oh gosh, this cold is really settling in and I am sooo miserable... koff snuffle.. my voice is about 2 octaves lower than usual right now. Good ev...ening! (Alfred Hitchcock voice) Thanks for your prayers Wen - I'm sure the trip went so smoothly because I had a few guardian angels watching over me! ![]() __________________ Jason B is #1 with me "I'm with the vampires" Last edited by MyrnaLynne : 03-11-2008 at 04:41 PM. | |||

| Hey all!!! Just stopping by for a small update. ![]() Everything is ok and mom went through the surgery just fine. She already out of bed doing physiotherapy which is great. I saw ML, postyed some pics... I'm guessing from the FL trip. They look nice but I sooo didn't have the time to read... I hope you had a wonderful time. ![]() It's Thursday so there's a lot to do and I still want to go and see mom today so.... I really have to go! Catch you guys later! ![]() __________________ Don’t worry about the future; or worry, but know that worrying is as effective as trying to solve an algebra equation by chewing bubblegum.----- Baz Luhrmann You don't have to be crazy to be my friend.... | for your Mom, VB I'm glad the surgery is over and your mother is okay!I stayed home sick yesterday with this cold - it has to be the most miserable cold ever! I wasn't sure if it was a cold or the flu, which is why I stayed home to see how bad it was going to be, but I'm pretty sure it's just a terrible cold. Dragged myself back into work today, though, because there is just sooo much work to do!Getting to the end of 'Time Traveller's Wife' and I know it's going to be sad, so I keep reading it slower and slower! It's already pretty sad. But one thing about being a time traveller - you know how things are going to turn out, so it isn't a bad surprise/you can plan ahead. sigh. There was another Dylan Neal movie on TV last night! Called 'No Brother of Mine' some Canadian movie of the week suspense type thing, done last year. He was the doctor husband and had a big part, and it was very nice to see him again! LOL! He has to be one of the handsomest guys in the world - or at least in Canada! Just in that tall, fair, square jawed, perfect, conventional type of handsomeness.![]() Okay, I'm trying to be good and work but I'm so having not much luck this week! Working at like 1/2 speed because I'm sick and 1/4 speed because I keep thinking of stuff to post for the Blood Ties/Kyle Schmid fan girls about the weekend. I hope I'm done being sick by this weekend, because there's a big family party for our very cool relative across the street who is turning 90! ![]() __________________ Jason B is #1 with me "I'm with the vampires" | |||

| Hey Everyone! ![]() Vero, I'm so glad to hear that Mom's surgery went so well! That's really terrific news! Still sending [[[Healing Vibes]]] her way for a speedy recovery. ![]() MyrnaLynne, you are welcome for the prayers, but I should have prayed for "Good Health" too! Sorry you have such a terrible cold. Hopefully you'll be feeling better soon. Sending [[[ Healing Vibes ]]] your way too! ![]() Well, I just layed low yesterday, trying to get this swelling down, and it did go down somewhat, and the weeping has let up some too, so that's good. ![]() I really don't want to have to sit on my bottom with my feet up the rest of my life tho. It does sound good in theory, but when you have to do it in real life, it's enough to make one go mad! ![]() Speaking of sitting... I read in the paper today that this woman sat on her boyfriend's toilet seat for two years! Her body had grown around the seat so they had to take the seat with them to take her to the hospital. They don't believe it was abuse, but more of the woman has a mental illness. Can you imagine?!!! What the heck was wrong with the boyfriend for letting it go that long?!!! Maybe he has a mental illness too?!!! I don't know, but they said she's caused lots of problems with her legs by sitting on that seat, so much so, that she'll probably end up in a wheelchair for life. ![]() We had MOTHER's birthday party over the weekend, but Bro' didn't take her home with him.... He took me aside and told me that he and his wife haven't been getting along since he's been laid off... lot's of stress in the house, and now would not be the best time to take MOTHER. (sigh) I knew he wouldn't take her. Easter is at my house this year. Yes, I get to make the dinner for the whole family, which I don't mind, but I know my legs are going to be giving me problems. ![]() Poddy & Scottie! and to all the JOF's and JIT's! ![]() Hugs, ![]() Wen __________________ JB's Obsessed Fan#64 ( I LOVE JASON BEHR!!!) ![]() "God never gives you more than you can handle. | Gah, my email at work is down and I feel like somebody cut off my arm without it! LOL! Especially as I just saw a message had arrived and I couldn't open it. I am sooo bad! I want to talk to my friends! LOL! Plus, all the stuff with my journal is conducted via email too. Poor Wen! That's too bad your brother is having troubles and can't take Mother right now (not that you aren't having health troubles yourself - ahem - but we do know his wife is a nutjob!) Your poor family... sigh! Not that I thought he was going to, but - maybe another time. I can see the world is gearing up for Easter. My kids were looking longingly at the chocolate rabbits etc at the market last night (we ran in for a few things). Never too old not to want candy! They got Easter candy for a few years when they were little from the relatives, until it sunk in that we were Jewish and didn't celebrate Easter (and during Passover, they couldn't eat Easter candy). I have such an addiction to those Russell Stover easter eggs with the cream centers - I've brought them home several times already (my kids love them too) but I was good last night and didn't get anymore. ![]() OMG I read about that woman stuck to the toilet for 2 years today too, and all I could think was - how bizarre! I almost sounded like a hoax, it's so weird. Well if you sat down for 2 years and never got up once, I'm sure your legs would stop working. You know, you think you've heard everything and then some crazy person comes up with something even more unimaginable... ![]() Woo, finished the taxes while I was home sick yesterday - Did everybody (in the US) get their letter about Mr Bush sending us all $300 or $600 or $1200! I can't understand why this doesn't make our country even more in debt (I would think even sending a letter to EVERYBODY would cost the government small fortune), but my friend assures me that this indeed does stimulate the economy. (yeh, whatever) I'm just glad because it'll pay back the money I spent going to see the BT boys and I won't have to feel so guilty about it anymore! The Universe Provides once again! back at you for those pesky puffy legs, Wen! Being stuck in the house and having to sit and take it easy - when you don't want to/when you HAVE to - must be no fun at all.__________________ Jason B is #1 with me "I'm with the vampires" | |||

| Hey all! Wen - my hubby told me about the woman stuck on the toilet seat for two years and my first thought was why in the H-E-double hockeysticks didn't someone come to her aid? The bf must have been a nutjob himself. I just can't understand that one AT ALL! My hubby's first thought was that he hoped they had two bathrooms!!! That's just disgusting. That's too bad that bro can't take Mother. And it's too bad that the loss of his job is causing stress for them. But he really should step up and take Mother, hopefully he'll be able to do so real soon! i'm hosting Easter dinner at my house this year too, but everyone brings a dish and a bottle of wine (I know you don't drink, but you could ask them to bring soda) so that I don't have to do all of the cooking. And it gives everyone who brings a dish a chance to show off their specialty. Like my cousin always brings the ubiquitous green bean casserole! She also sometimes brings red cabbage which I love. My friend always brings corn casserole and sweet potato dish. That helps tremendously. My friend and I joked the other night that we'll probably serve corn casserole at out children's weddings, they LOVE corn casserole so much. It's easy to make too, it's made with Jiffy corn muffin mix. Kids adore it. VB - glad your mom is doing well after the surgery! My continued wishes for her full recovery! I know you must be so busy, so thanks for letting us know that she's okay. ML - I caught New Amsterdam the other night, and you were right and I was wrong with the time, it was on at 9 pm. I loved it! Very good show, I'll watch it for sure from now on. Thanks for posting your pictures, looks like so much fun at the convention. Hey, I hope you're feeling better today, it seems like so many people I know have a horrible cold. And everyone that has it comments on how it affects your voice! My Pilates teacher said that he sounded like Barry White! He's been so sick, but still teaching classes which worries me a lot (spreading his germs - yuck!). I think people who are sick should just stay away like you did! Have you finished Time Traveller's Wife yet? In three weeks I'm leaving for Punta Cana, Dominican Republic! There will be nine of us going, I'm going with my 87 year old dad, my hubby, my sister and her hubby and two couples from the 'hood (my neighbors). We're staying at the Riu Palace Macao which is an all-inclusive resort. I can't wait to get to where it's warm and sunny. We're seeing a few flowering trees in DC now and some of the early daffodils are out. But it's still chilly and breezy and I'm still wearing my winter coat. And true to form, it's supposed to rain in time for the weekend! I miss Jason, I see Rhona Mitra has a new movie coming out today (Doomsday) and it makes me sad that Jason isn't doing anything (that I know of!). He needs to do something, don't you think? LOL! We need a Jason fix! I feel like a junkie who needs a shot of something... __________________ "Life is hard; it's even harder if you're stupid"--John Wayne | |||

| Yes, we need some Jason! I sort of feel like I've been unfaithful to him lately, admiring all these other nice-looking boys - but they are just passing fancies! I think I like Dylan Neal's face because he has those angles to his jaw like Jason has. That other boy is gorgeous but at the same time, isn't what you'd even call good looking - he has a huge chin, big forehead, knobby nose - an odd collection of features that somehow really work well together! There was a girl who won 'Top Model' like that - she was positively odd looking, but the camera loved her! And the gals just swoon for him too. A sweet boy too, he has such a happy positive energy and spirit to him. Whereas I think Dylan has been around the business long enough to be a tad jaded and cynical/snarky. I like that he calls himself a 'blue collar actor'. It's a job; he's managing to make a living at it. ![]() Dominican Republic vacation! Oh my, that sounds like paradise! What a very cool trip! Those all-inclusive things are so sensible - like taking a cruise. I like that your food, your accomodations and your transportation and your entertainment are all there (on a cruise) and all included. I'd like to take another cruise with Mr ML some day. Would like to bring the kids along and maybe bring my Dad. He and my Mom took cruises when they were younger - I think he'd have a good time. Oh well.. dream on! Just need to win that lottery first! ![]() I'm intrigued by this 'corn casserole' - is it sort of a puddingy corn bread with like creamed corn in it? The red cabbage sounds yum too and I keep threatening to make green bean casserole - but Mr ML hates cooked green beans (his most hated vegetable), and MLette detests onions with equal passion, and with the whole not serving a creamed/dairy dish with meat - well, I don't think we'll ever have it! ![]() Very irresponsible of the Pilates teacher not to take a few days off (or wear one of those masks or something). This is a really virulent cold, bad enough that I wasn't sure for awhile if it was the flu or not. It's getting better but I'm still stuffy and hacking. Couldn't taste a thing yesterday and haven't felt much like eating - and I NEVER don't feel like eating, so you know I must have been sick! ![]() Yes, finished the Time Traveller last night - cried (which with my stuffy nose, I didn't need it any stuffier) but then it sort of ends not quite so tragically. What a beautiful, beautiful book! That woman who wrote it must be so intelligent and cultured! And the guy was built a lot like Jason! Although I wouldn't want some of that stuff that happened to him to ever happen to Jason, even pretend in a movie. sigh. Guess with all the nakedness, it probably won't be turned into a major motion picture! ![]() I'm so glad you love New Amsterdam! A couple of my friends started watching and they love it too. We still really enjoying 'Eli Stone' too - cool show. But, my word, Smallville has hit an all time low with the show last night. It was SO bad, it was actually painful to watch. Bad acting, bad writing, silly heavy-handed product placement (Stride gum, infused with kyrptonite - okaaayyy). It's like during the writer's strike they all forgot how to act and the writers forgot how to write! It really stunk. I think we might be done with Smallville, pretty as Tom Welling is and as much as I've had a secret crush on Superman since I was a tot! It was that bad. My friends who used to like the show gave up on it long ago - just got way to silly and stupid. sigh. I have been sooo bad this week, between convention-lag and being sick, I have gotten so little work done and stuff is just piling up and up - scary! I have to get my brain in gear... or maybe it's my butt? LOL!![]() __________________ Jason B is #1 with me "I'm with the vampires" Last edited by MyrnaLynne : 03-14-2008 at 07:41 AM. | |||
