| Podmom - if I'd known you had a bunch of free computer time I'd have stuck around more yesterday! Good to see you back and posting! I hope your sister's situation works out, I know a lot of people must be suffering from bad (or ill-timed) investments. I didn't know you've injured your back, are the shots for the pain? Quote:
Momma Robin's still in her nest, still sitting on *something* but I don't know what, haven't heard the patter of tiny bird claws yet. She's so used to me now she doesn't budge when I come to get into the car. Oh, I love that M/L pic, it's one of my favorites. Didn't Jason and Shiri have amazing chemistry together? They were absolutely believable as young lovers going through impossible odds to be together. Love the lighting in that shot too, Shiri's hair glows it's so beautiful. Sigh... Wen - thanks for the compliment on Hazel, she is a pretty girl. Even though she has some "hair issues" she's got a good heart. And she's always so much fun to come home to. Last night when I came home she grabbed one of her toys and honest to goodness she ran around the dining room table about 20 times until she'd winded herself and had to finally stop. She has those doggie bursts of energy and goes crazy expending her energy. She's so fun. VB - I liked hearing your explanation of how Israel is set up, housing-wise. Here in the city there are lots of apartments and people have dogs in them. There's a doggie park that's right on my way to work so I pass it every day. People walk their dogs there and it's always so much fun to watch the dogs play together. It's amazing how varied dogs are in sizes too, there's a guy who walks his great dane right alongside of his small terrier and they look so funny together. Yeah, my instructor needs to work on his arms/shoulders like I need a hole in my head, but last night he tortured us some more working out with hand weights and weighted balls and bars, working on our arms and shoulders. We were sweating up a storm and laughing because we all looked so ragged by the time he finished with us. Just two more weeks until his cruise and we'll be in wonderful shape! Wen - like Podmom said, it's wonderful that your doctor is taking more aggressive steps towards fixing your swelling problem, but terrible that the drugs caused you to conk out! I wish there was a happy medium for you! But do you think you could keep a couple of those pills for when you really need a good night's sleep? LOL! They could come in handy. ML - hope your day's going well, talk to you soon! ![]() __________________ "Life is hard; it's even harder if you're stupid"--John Wayne

| Hi Everyone! Sorry Vero, that you lost your long post. I meant to tell you that last time I was here, but I was kind of out of it. ![]() About those meds that made me woosie where I couldn't even get up without help... I really didn't sleep with them. Just laid there feeling sick to my stomach and feeling faint and woosie. Oh, I would doze off for maybe 30 mins or so, but I felt sick with them and I just had to stop them. But I really was eliminating a lot of fluid as that was added to my other doubled dose of water pills. I don't know if it affected my Potassium levels, (but I am on Potassium suppliments), or it affected my blood pressure to go too low, or what? I just don't know, but I could barely stand up, and needed help to do so. Thank Goodness for Lainie!!! But when Lainie was at school, I had to hang on to the walls and anything I could grab onto, just to go potty! I felt drunker than a skunk! Not a pretty sight. ![]() I'm almost feeling myself again. Still a bit woosie. Boy, I guess it takes a while to get out of my system. I just wished it would hurry up!Scottie, That's funny that Hazel got all excited when you got home and had to run off her burst of energy. LOL! My dogs, past and present, did/do that too! I wonder why that is? Well, they've always seemed happy doing it, so what's the harm, right? ![]() Here is a picture of my Teddi-Behr... the picture doesn't do him justice as he's a Big Boy! ![]() And he really is the sweetest boy. He's sooo sensitive! Gets his feeling hurt real easily, so he pouts when he gets in trouble. LOL! MyrnaLynne, I hope your boss finally tells you what you are suppose to do with the New work! ![]() Going to go lie down again... Hugs to All, ![]() Wen __________________ JB's Obsessed Fan#64 ( I LOVE JASON BEHR!!!) ![]() "God never gives you more than you can handle. | Morning/evening all ![]() Long vB post Must have been that good night sleep Well we know I'm a cat person(who likes dogs too) but they do make so much more sense in an appartment and if you work all day.....2 cats are nice because they keep each other company when you have to travel and be away.....just my 2 cents I like your imagining of the dog/squirrel tag game Scottie It is nice to actually have some time to post......I really was missing that(one of the pluses to me time) I too have a bird nesting at my house....at my front entrance up on the pillar....making me not use my front door....I wonder if it is the one that nested in my wreath one year. I'm gonna try to get a picture some time but she is skittish....even flies away when I look out the door window at her. Jason and Shiri really did an amazing job together(we're still talking about Liz and Max after all) magical tv union! ML Maybe you would be ok scubaing but not good if you are claustrophobic(every form you fill out has that question) I was surprised I was nervous the first time...I thought it would be all happy happy joy joy with how I am about snorkling(nirvana) but you're right having all that constricting/heavy gear on takes some getting used to......by this trip though(when I got to a good boat dive) I was totally comfortable and it was like I imagined it to be......amazingly interesting and beautiful and kind of like flying....very cool.....we want to get certified now and take a trip with Liz and Walter(they are certified) we'll see.....a new goal. This next picture is funny....in Kauai they had a very bad storm yrs ago where all of the ppls chickens got loose....now there are wild chickens litterally everywhere there(pests actually....LOTs of crowing every morning ) well we had fun every afternoon resting on our patio after the days exertions in the sun and water...having a drink and feeding the various birds....are two favs were the next pic....a family of chickens that would come running across the parking lot to get the food we dropped down to them(manna from heaven) momma dad and babies![]() our other favorites were these red headed island cardnals....the picture doesn't do justice to the bright shinyness of their heads...plus they were so tame they would take the food out of your hand...we had so much fun with the birds...we are getting old ![]() ![]() ![]() well while I'm on birds....in the big dining room in Kauai they don't have screens and it's very open to the lovely view....so the little birds fly all over in and out...here is one having breakfast with us ![]() __________________ ![]() | |||

| Scottie I just went to a financial talk at work and it was put on by the Consumer Credit Council, which is a branch of Money Management International (Consumer Credit Counseling Service :: Debt Management Services :: Consolidate Debt) and they help/advise people in financial trouble/ bankruptcy/ giant credit card debt, etc. Maybe this group would help your sister? And everybody else's relatives who are barely getting by! It couldn't hurt to suggest it. This economy is just plain scary, when people can't find a bag of rice or put gas in the car or pay their bills. And I know how easily it could be us next. ![]() LOL, I found out the boss just gave me that for information to put on her bibliography! Would have been nice if she'd attached a sticky note that explained that's all it was for! I was freaking out she was 2 weeks behind the deadline to send it back for nothing! ![]() Oh Wen those pills are the 'cure worse than the illness'! I got some pills like that from the doctor once. Well, I didn't drop into a faint, but I was totally dopey and felt out of it for probably a month, felt like my eyes were rolling up in my head. Doctor was very surprised those pills did that and didn't help me! ![]() LOL, I'm glad that naked Jason Lewis woke you up a bit! Sorry VB I guess that pic is a little too naughty... ![]() Oh Podmom your poor tailbone! Mr ML jumped off a roof as a kid and landed on his tailbone and to this day he doesn't want anybody coming anywhere near that area. Well, um, not that you would want anybody coming near that spot! I wonder if acupuncture would help. My boss still has a lot of pain after her fall/accident and she said she's resorted to acupuncture for it, because the pain meds bother her stomach so much. sigh. I have one of those tailbone pillows at work, that is like a wedge with an opening/cut out for the tailbone area - supposed to be good for your back. Maybe that would be a help too, if you put that on your chairs?Oh wait - two more posts just showed up while I'm writing this... hmmm Wen Teddi-Behr is quite a handsome fellow! :> Rotties are scary looking but generally very sweet dogs. VB a lot of people in apartments, like in NY City, manage with dogs. But you do have to take them out and walk them (and 'scoop up' after them - ew) several times a day, and that's a big job. My friend in Florida has 4 tiny dogs, but she has a fenced yard and a dog door and they go in and out as they want and she doesn't need to walk them! Although dogs like to walk and go on adventures even if they can go in the yard - they need new smells and new sights (and to go pee on new things!) LOL! But I can see why they would say get a cat, because cats can go in that little box and are easier and stay in the house. But if you are a 'dog person' it makes no sense to say have a cat instead! And it isn't always size for an apartment - a little high-energy dog like a Jack Russell needs much more space and more exercise than a big low-energy dog who is happy to sleep on the sofa or look out the window. Retired greyhounds are real lazy couch potatoes! (Unless they spot a rabbit!)Scottie your instructor working on his arms makes me think how much work actors have to put in, to get their arms (and the rest of them) looking just so - it doesn't happen by itself! ![]() Came back to add Cristian de la Fuente and his arms (right before his arm muscle got hurt - you know this guy was pumping iron! Ahh- Max and Liz! So beautiful together. That chemistry between actors is just a magical thing. ![]() Off too look for another picture to 'wake up' Wen. ;p This is to wake up Wen and for Poddy tailbone :> ![]() LOL, Hawaiian bird and wild chickens are so cute! I took photos of a family of chickens walking around in Bermuda but they came out as tiny black specks in the photo (okay, not a great photographer). I love chickens! Did my kitchen over with a farm motif but chicken, um, rule the roost!__________________ Jason B is #1 with me "I'm with the vampires" Last edited by MyrnaLynne : 05-01-2008 at 07:39 AM. | |||

(See, I'm still a bit loopy from those meds as I forgot to thank you!... I'm sorry. )And thank you MyrnaLynne for the Wake UP pic of Jason! Wow! Jason's even better than coffee! LOL! I also love the one in that shoot of him on the staircase! a-hem! A real eye awakener! ![]() You know, after Satan Jr. left, I felt dead in that romantic department if you know what I mean? But Jason awakened me from the dead, and he's the ONLY man to do it! He sure is something special! ![]() Thanks for the compliments on Teddi-Behr... he's my sweetie. btw, he doesn't always wear that bandana... Lainie just put it on him to see what he'd look like, but soon took it off of him as it didn't suit him. ![]() Hugs to All, ![]() Wen __________________ JB's Obsessed Fan#64 ( I LOVE JASON BEHR!!!) ![]() "God never gives you more than you can handle. | Bassetts! My dog is half bassett hound (well, partly bassett hound). He has the long shape, short legs, funny front feet, and the knobby head and chest. LOL, my mother patted him when we visted and she said "The dog has a brain tumor!" LOL! No Ma, that's the shape of his skull. ![]() His ears aren't as long and he's not quite as droopy and jowly as a pure bassett. Also doesn't have that baying bark! But his bark is pretty loud and menacing. Bassett Ramble looks like it was a lot of fun. Oh, other funny thing is, my dog doesn't like other bassetts! Barks at them! Then again he doesn't like Weimaraners, Greyhounds, or Golden Retrievers either! Found this in the cheer you up/photo department (I think the mods are going to get on our case about too-wide and too-many pix) ![]() ![]() (I don't know who made that caption photo but it's very cute!) ![]() That man had the most beautiful back I've ever seen, from the back of his head right on down... ![]() __________________ Jason B is #1 with me "I'm with the vampires"

| Bassets! I had a basset hound once too! He was actually the only purebred dog I've ever had, I've always had a fondness for mutts! But our friends had a purebred couple who did their thing and had eight babies! (This was back in 1981!). So my husband got me one for my birthday, he was the most adorable baby I've ever seen. His name was Ralph, named after Ralph Kramden of Honeymooners fame. His father's name was Norton (lol!) and his mother's name was Sally. And you guessed it, there was a Trixie and and Alice in the litter. Boy, he was cute! He passed away back in the early '90's and he is sorely missed. Bassets have a lot of charm and character. Was Elmo difficult to train, ML? Ralph was so stubborn! Since they're all "forward" in carriage they can be difficult to walk so you have to train them not to pull on the leash or they'll end up dragging you around (well, Ralph did anyway!). Thanks for the pics, Podmom, loved the cardinals and chickens and even the little thieving sparrow! So you've got a nester too? Must be hard not being able to use your front door though? We have had birds that nest in hanging plants too, they'll use anyplace I guess! Loved your sister's headgear, looks like you all had fun! ML - thank you so much for that link, I'll check it out for sure. It might just be the answer we're looking for. It is such a tough time we're in, eh? Loved the "dirty thoughts pic" and of course no one has a sexier "upper butt" than Jason! My gosh that man's built! But you're right, well made men don't just happen, they work at it!Glad you found out about the boss's intentions for the work left on your desk! Some instructions would've been so nice!... Wen - Teddy sure is a handsome dude in his picture, looking all macho! I love Rotties too, they're gorgeous dogs. If I may pry a bit into his habits, does he drool? TMI? Sorry! Just wondering as my basset drooled something fierce! __________________ "Life is hard; it's even harder if you're stupid"--John Wayne | |||

| I have a low tolerance for 2 things in dogs: yapping, and drooling/slobbering! Luckily mine isn't a slobberer (and his voice is way too low to yap!) LOL! Well I guess leg-humping is also unacceptable! ![]() LOL about the 'Honeymooner' litter of bassetts! Yes, he is very powerful and pulls on the leash, but I won't let him drag me around (he chokes himself instead). With my bum knee, I can only go so fast - which I remind him frequently! Mr ML and Mr ML Jr can run around with him, but I have to walk. It gives you a nice 'resistance' workout for your arms. We have had generations of sparrows nesting in a little crevice under the shingles at the corner of our front porch. We come and go and they don't seem to mind. My neighbor across the way had purple finches nesting in a hanging potted plant - that was very cool! Gotta love the little birdies! ![]() __________________ Jason B is #1 with me "I'm with the vampires" | |||

| Poddy! I'm so glad you weren't offended by my mistakenly missing to address you and your kind gift of Max and Liz. I truly LOVED it! ![]() And yes, I never wanted to look at another man ever again... until Jason. ![]() LOVE the doggie pics!!! Especially "The Fairy Princess" So, I take it that this is an annual event... Basset Hounds on Parade?! Just Basset Hounds take the stage? No other Doggie Parades come to OC? I think that's funny! LOL! I wonder who thought that up... Maybe The Mayor? The City Counsil? ![]() Cute, cute doggies! And that's funny how Big Viv likes animals better than peeps! (I know some peeps like that too!) ![]() Love the "Sis" head-gear! LOL! She looks well protected from the sun, the elements, or even alien thought waves! LOL! Looks like you all had a fun day out and about with the pooches! ![]() How many pooches were out there anyway... did anyone ever count? And you don't need to stop posting pic if it were up to me... I'm enjoying them. But maybe you could wait to post more pics on the next page to keep the Mods happy. ![]() Scottie, You asked if Teddi drooled... No, he's not a drooler at all, thank goodness. But he does give Big Wet Kisses! LOL! One lick and he washes your whole face! His head is bigger than mine! He's a BIG BOY! LOL! And yet he thinks he's sooo small, because he thinks he's a lap dog and always tries to sit in my lap! And with him weighing in at 150+ lbs, he nearly crushes me! LOL! He's just sooo loving that he wants to be close... really close! Have you heard of the "Rottweiler lean"? Rott's tend to lean on you... against you (that's how they hug) and I swear, Teddi nearly pins me to the wall when he does that... either that or nearly knocks me over! He's just so loving, but doesn't know his own strength! MyrnaLynne, Yes, I can see the bassett hound resembalance in Elmo. Do you know what else he has in him? He looks like a good healthy dog tho'. They say that the mixed breeds are healthier than the pure breeds. Gosh, I'm getting tired again, UGH! Going to go lie down again,,, Hugs to All, ![]() Wen __________________ JB's Obsessed Fan#64 ( I LOVE JASON BEHR!!!) ![]() "God never gives you more than you can handle. | I've only known one Bassett but he was great.....these dogs were so calm and sweet...and there were many of them....and many ppl brought their own dogs(some dressed up) as observers....it was a sweet bunch all around. I remember now what your Elmo looks like ML....I guess he wouldn't dig this parade Scottie Great dog names there!! the fact that the viser has turtles was the final touch ![]() Wen they advertise 500 but seemed less but probably at least 3-4oo...which is alot!JBs pic thread has lots of pics this size.....since I'm being recalcitrent gotta slip one more in...it is the end of the parade and they had a pooped pup parole cause they had to walk a long way![]() I'll behave now ![]() __________________ ![]() | |||

| We had a professor neighbor who had a bassett who was so comical and lazy - so lazy, the dog never wanted to walk, always wanted to sit down, or lie down and rest. He had a funny name to... Wilfred! That was it. A colorful character. They are stubborn and know their own minds. Sometimes I let him get his way, and other times I say sorry I'm the boss. And boy, never forget where they found a scrap of food! I think big dog breeds tend to be leaners. I know it's a problem with Great Danes too! And I think they weigh more than Rotties! ![]() Just was checking out the movie they are making from the "Twilight" vampire novel(s). It comes out December 12! :> The boy starring in it as Edward (English boy Robert Pattinson) is pale and tall and striking-/unusual-looking enough to be a vampire (although I don't think he's beautiful enough by half) and Cam Gigandet, who was the bad Volchok on the O.C. (boo hiss), is the bad vampire guy who causes trouble at the end of the book - he's very good at being bad and very strong and wiry looking. Nikki Reed is in it too - wasn't she in "Man of G-d" with Jason? Aha - always 6 degrees of Jason Behr someplace! ![]() If we keep posting at this clip, we'll need a new thread soon. Which is probably good because our last one was named for Valentines day and here it's almost May!Elmo has a bassett look to his face, but not the rheumy looking eyes. And he has the wackiest tail - looks like it should be on a German Shephard or something! And one side of his mouth is a little jowlier and flappier than the other! LOL! Bassetts are comical-looking dogs. Great hunters though. He loves to get on a scent and go racing along, sniffing after it. I feel sorry we're not hunting people because he's so good at it! LOL, I got a catalog from Oriental Trading yesterday - their ears must have been burning because we were talking about them! ![]() __________________ Jason B is #1 with me "I'm with the vampires" | |||
