Wow, Rob at Cannes! Great pix, and yes, poor Rob - that's his life now - a wall of paparazzi flashing cameras in his face wherever he goes.

It's no wonder he's so nervous! (but I guess he was nervous before that too - LOL).

Oh caster sugar is probably what we call 'superfine sugar'. I just bought a box of that for Passover next year for a recipe. Makes the frosting less gritty or whatever.
I love all the different names for stuff and mysterious Aussie products - it's very fun!

OH Great news! Alex O'Loughlin's pilot for CBS got picked up yesterday - "Three Rivers" about transplant surgeon in Pittsburgh (which is surrounded by 3 rivers). I love Alex, but he doesn't look much like a smart doctor to me. Just sayin'. Other great news - 'Castle' got renewed for another season!

I was so worried about it, because it is just getting zero press or mention anywhere and it's so good. Yay for Nathan Fillion!

Sarah Connor Chronicles got the axe, but probably because my family and I could never say the name of it! It's like some terrible tongue-twister - Cronner Conickles.

We never watched it, mainly because we could never say it.

Oh gosh, fast-forwarded through 'Joyride 2' (aka Death Ride) last night and even in fastforward, it totally creeped me out (and it was a really bad movie). Love Kyle dearly, but there's a reason when stuff goes right to video. He played an interesting character, goth emo poseur wiseguy boy. They didn't have to kill him, though.

Actually, I'm surprised anybody survived, I thought it would be like the Grudge - everyone who comes in contact with this evil crazy killer trucker guy must die. And of course the surviving girl and boy killed the bad guy in a fiery wreck (off a cliff) - but then at the epilogue, there he comes driving along and picks up another girl whose car broke down

The bad guy who cannot die! bwahahah - Sorry if I'm spoiling the movie for anybody but... ICK! I just can't deal with scary/evil movies. They creep me out.

Yesterday, I raced to catch the subway home from work and the driver slammed the door in my face, like 3 or 4 inches from my nose, and drove away!

I yelled, I swore, I was nearly in tears, I was so angry. And then there was a crazy woman on the train, wearing some sort of homemade mask (to keep away swine flu, I assume) and then she started preaching very loudly to the people on the train about sin and hell and repentence and saying the rosary and evil ways.

Not saying what she had to say didn't have merit, just saying it was rude to screech it out to a captive audience trying to ride home from work on the subway in peace. sigh.

I shouldn't have dissed instant potatoes - I swear they serve those at the cafeteria at work just about every day (and not half bad, with their fake gravy over them). When you are in the mood for them and don't want to peel and cook and mash - there they are. LOL, my Mom made them once and she'd heated up too much milk and didn't want to waste it, so the potatoes came out like a soup.

Oh the instant desserts were very very nice! We tried them last night.

They were tiny, though. There's a tiny dab of brownie batter in a paper bowl and you microwave that. Then there's a Hoodsie cup of ice cream, with choc bits and fudge swirls and you take off the lid, and the bottom of the cup is designed to push through and dispense the ice cream on top of the hot brownie - it was very clever, fun to make, and tasty (and CHOCOLATEY - I was wide awake from it when I tried to go to sleep.

) The apple one, you cooked the dab of apple pie filling in the microwave and that ice cream had carmel and cinnamony bits of streusel stuff in it - also looked very good. MLette ate hers all up, Mr ML Jr and I cleaned our brownie bowls - so it must not have been too bad.

I guess they are going right back and film 'Eclipse' as soon as they finish "New Moon" (so the cast doesn't get any older - LOL) and before Rob rockets away on his big movie star career.

HUGS Poddy you give and give and do for others and at some point, the well has to get dry. Hang in there, sweetie! Think happy la-la- land thoughts!

Wow, I just hit some wrong key and opened a "narrator" who started reading aloud! What next?

Oops, better get back to work...

My Bible study just left......I am feeling better(had some time with the Lord this morning that was very helpful. BTW the book we are using is called "what's so Amazing about Grace" kind of smarmy title to a trully great book...by Phillip Yancey one of the best Christian writers today........ Fed mom and she is getting dressed for a trip to Costco(one of the outings she likes....we always look for a DVD she will like. ) Anywho... I am munching on some brocolli/bacon/raisen salad while I visit with you guys for a bit

btw....such a weird grouping(onion too) that tastes so good...but if you put the classic mayo/suger/viniger dressing on cardboard it would taste good!

Woah, great 'what if' Twilight fanfic (I glanced through a few sections of it).

Work has been way workish today - think I'm burnt out with that. (I had the hot fudge sundae late lunch - had lunch about 3 pm).

MLette likes that broccoli salad (when it's made with fake bacon and no onions). :>

LOL, good point about putting Jacob up on a box - he probably has to do the whole movie on a box (or in elevator shoes). giggle. Hope they aren't giving Taylor steroids to bulk up, though - he's only 16.

Very cute, him with Selena Gomez - cute couple.

Thanks, I had a very peaceful trip home yesterday- in fact I was dozing off a little. Glad I didn't miss my stop!

I stayed up late to see how 'Dancing with the Stars' turned out and they didn't pick my guy, so I was kind of disappointed, even though I didn't watch it much. It always comes down to who has the most fans, I guess, not who is the best dancer. I should have given him my 5 votes, instead of just 3! LOL! Yep, all my fault... LOL!

I can't begin to imagine what those young actors' lives are like, in this crazy celeb-obsessed world. Hope they stay safe as well.

Well, Kristen's family is in the business and she grew up with it, and I think Taylor's family keeps a close eye on him/he seems pretty grounded, but poor Rob, he seems like he's on his own, with his family far away, but he still could use some looking after!

Heard that Rob said in Cannes there will be a 'Breaking Dawn' movie as well. Still don't know how they'll film that, the health stuff is so icky!

Mr ML is getting so absent minded (lack of basketball) - he went to return some videos - and yep, came backe because he forgot the videos, and he left for work this morning and came back - said every morning he leaves for work and forgets his (temporary) tooth and has to come back for it!!

I had planned on a fun day with mygf with the hysterechtomy for tomorrow....hang/have lunch/watch eppies of the OC(which I found out she liked but only saw a few eppies) and laugh....so going to still do that...I need it! Boy do I have alot of driving in my future(NJ ....Va DC) over the next 3 wks.....oh well....at least it won't be raining this time in OC.

Poor MrML I can relate...thank goodness for post its...I liveby them!!!!!!!!

And Mr. ML is just now being absent minded?... consider yourself lucky! My No.2 son is Brilliant, but has been absent minded his whole life! We call him the Absent Minded Professor! LOL!

My No.1 son's wife tends to be absent minded as well,,, and they (No.2 son and DIL) are both born in the same year so they are the same Chinese Zodiac sign,,, I wonder if that has anything to do with it... or my No.1 son noticed unconscientiously that it was familar, and found that quality in her therefore comforting? (armchair psychology there)

Sorry to be so MIA Everyone, but have been throwing myself into a New Project and am really excited about it!

My niece Shannon is re-doing her room in a Parisian Theme, .... Well, actually it's going to be a surprise for her as she wants to do it that way, and her Mom is going to do it as a surprise for her, so she's got the whole family involved (secretly) and I'm so excited!

I've been making little (about 10" long), French Signs for her room, ... her walls are lavender, and I got some bright pink spray paint and spray painted some wooden signs, and got black lettering and so far have made 5 signs that say... 'Ooh La La!', 'Oui Oui!', 'Je t'amine', 'Bonjour!', and a little larger sign that says 'I Love Paris!'.

I still have to embelish the signs with some floral decals then varnish them with non-yellowing polyurethane. They're coming out really nice, if I do say so myself.

Plus I got her a set of four crystal 5" Eiffel Towers that come each in a different color, (clear, sky blue, emerald green, and light pink), ...they are so pretty.

And I got her this really nice wrought iron filigree style 10" letters that spell out PARIS, and they go around top, (semi-circle) Not touching , a 25" wrought iron filigree style Eiffel Tower! It's sooo pretty and sooo Cool! She's going to Love it!!! It goes on the wall of course, but she could even use it as a headboard!

I'm having so much fun with this project!!!

I'm excited!

My Bro' emailed me the furniture that he got her, and I swear it's the SAME French Provincial furniture I had as a kid! LOL! Well, they say that everything comes back around if you wait long enough! LOL!

It's white furniture with gold leafing & trim, just like I had! Did anyone else have that set? I guess it was really popular in the 50's and early 60's.

Shannon is going to be so Surprised! Of course she'll get to place everything where she wants it to go, but with just having the material she'll be thrilled!

Well, today is Lainie's last Final, Thank Goodness! Then maybe after this she can finally relax and be able to sleep again, poor kid.

I had to see my Neurologist yesterday. UGH! He's in the next town over, and traffic was a nightmare, and he saw me, no kidding, for like 3 whole minutes! Grrrr!!!

Well, I'm grateful that he found the miracle meds that greatly reduced my migraines and I have hardly had any since finding this miracle drug that I have to take every day, (as a preventative), but I still have to watch my food allergies as I'm prone to migraines due to certain foods too, so I avoid them like the plague!

Anyway, bottom line, I'm doing so well that I don't have to see him for another 6 months!

(Wen does happy dance!)

Just popping in to say Hi and Bye - went to a talk on retirement that was an hour wasted out of my life - the woman was a 'life coach' named Karma (I do not kid) and very disorganized - useless talk.

Then I got my carotid arteries ultrasounded for free and they are fine so - one body part I don't have to worry about, at least!

And in between it was work, work, work as usual... will try to get on the comp tonight to SO properly to you....

PS Did I mention it's supposed to go up to 90 F tomorrow!

That thud will be me dropping dead from the heat. (And the long weekend, it will be back to 50s and cold again)

well Tthe Vivster is gonna be with me a week longer than my 6 wk stint....cause podad(I think if he ever remembers to get the time off.sent a note in his lunch today...oh yea we were speaking of absent minded...he is!........anyway Liz thought it would be fun to come to my sis's for the weekend while podad and I were there(after driving Viv there.....and Em too but her big test is the Sat of the week I was gonna take Viv south....so leaving the next week....then I willonly really get a week alone cause the bro inlaw is going fishing in MAin and going to drive sis and Viv here and then I will take them to OC..........sis isn't making me but she rarely comes to OC and mom always is whining that she doesn't and her fav thing is to have me and sis there with her with no men...san't say no to the poor old broad......but I really want sis to take her back with her so I can have the rest ofJuly and part of Aug with the OC house available to take friends to....that is my wish...we'll see.

gosh that was long /whiney and boring....gonna post it andcome back in a bit
