Yes, I think Rob looks like his Dad too! And I see Rob gets his long fingers from his Dad too because his Dad looks like he has really long fingers as he's holding Rob's arm in the picture.

Yes, Rob's expression in that pic is not flattering. Too bad too, since he's with his parents. It would have been nice to have a good pic of him with his parents.

Oh yes, I read that yesterday that Hugh Jackman would be doing a film with Rob... heard he had it in the works before he got Twilight.

And Rob is doing another movie for Summit too. He said he's booked out solid to do movies for at least a year, or just a little over a year. Plus he's working on that Score for a Movie too! Busy, busy boy!

I just took some brownies out of the oven and they smell sooo good!

My No.2 son will be extremely happy that I made some brownies... they are his favorites!

Speaking of No.2 son... starting tonight, he'll be House/Dog-sitting for his friend and his family for a week. They're going on vacation to the Caymen Islands. (Must be nice!) Anyway, he has 2 of the cutest little Shih Tzu's, (sisters Maggie & Molly), that are just little furballs of energy! LOL! And they are sooo loving! They just love Everyone! They are just too cute!

Poor Peter F., ... he seems like such a nice guy. I really liked his character as Dr. Cullen.

Oh, No.1 son just came in so I have to go...

Just had a very 'healthy' lunch of a piece of hedgehog slice, a chocolate biscuit and a sponge jam roll.

It's blowing a gale here today. I hate windy days. I had a music practice with an elderly friend this morning and we were talking about God and the wind. She pointed up and said 'he's listening' and then said that of course he wasn't up in the sky. Then she laughed and said, and if he was, on a day like today he'd be blown away anyway. I immediately had a picture of God riding the clouds like a show board with his arms up in joy shouting 'WOO HOO' as the wind blew him across the sky.

Now I'm back inside out of the gale.

And I know that what you call "biscuits", we call cookies, right? And your "Sponge jam roll" is like a cake, right?

Am I close anyway? But I haven't a clue about your "hedgehog slice"! LOL! If it's not the Real animal, then I have no idea what it could possibly be?

And I'm not thrilled with the wind either... we live by a town called Suisun, (Pronounced - 'Sue-soon'), and it's Always Windy there and I don't know why, except maybe the way it's positioned between the mountains... maybe that's why it's always windy?

Afternoon y'all!. Today i just worked 8 hours so i'm off til Monday,yay!. The weather today has been a mix of rain and sun but always hot...weird

I went on Monday night to the rock gig that i told you about and i had a blast. My friends Nicki & Charlie are so much fun. And i had the chance to meet and talk to Marta, the keyboardist of the main band. She's an angel and so lovely!. I took a pic with her (i'm the one with the tan...my friend said i look like i have been on holidays in Barbados,lol)

Wen Thanks for that pic of Rob on his b-day; he looks so cute!...You cook brownies...omg!...i can cook everything but cakes...i fancy some brownies now,lol.
Wow, i just read what happened with your family at the funeral and felt like a soap opera...i've got "that person"in family that get on my nerves so much and sometimes i'd like to kill her!!!...and glad at least you had a good time for mother's day at that restaurant!...good you had the refund on the flowers!

ML...so sorry about your back and what happened to your husband and his tooth...hope he can sort it out soon. A Twilight bedding for $200...omg that's a lot...it's £100...wow!!!. Sorry, been away from the computer this weekend. MLette and I watched 'Milk' with Sean Penn -and it was long and boring! And like the Titanic, you know how it ends (he dies). But 'Titanic' managed to be thrilling anyway, and Milk - not so much. Everybody gave good performances, and it was fun watchng James Franco and Diego Luna 'play gay' (and the boy from high school musical, the blond one, who seems sooo gay for real).. anyway - well made, nice movie about an important figure and a time in history (the glasses! the hairstyles! LOL!) but it was just boring.

While we were watching that, Mr ML Jr and his pal went out to see the Star Trek movie. They thought it was okay, but he had some quibbles with some plot points.

I was at a used bookstore (we donated that pile of old VCR movies) and got a book by Adam Nimoy, Leonard's son. He didn't have such a great life (so far) with pot and alcohol and going from this career to that (lawyer, director, teacher) and divorce. sigh. I guess Leonard was a drinker himself, I just heard recently, and LOL, Shatner wore a toupee on Star Trek - that's a new one (I knew he wore a girdle/corset). giggle. Anyway, good book and worth about the $2.50 I paid for it. Nobody should live in Hollywood, it's way to crazy.

Gabi I haven't see 'Devil Wears Prada' yet either, and some people I like are in it (Adrien Grenier from Entourage for one). It's in my Netflix queue. Nice photo of you and your friend. You look like some rock n roll gals, all right, with all the black outfits!

Does it have coconut on it (as the quills?) - trying to picture it. I am fine for having a dessert meal. Sometimes if I am having a bad day at work, I have an ice cream sundae for lunch. I don't have too many vices except for chocolate (and Twilight - and Jason).

Wen mm, brownies. I have been in the mood to bake brownies, but unfortunately, nobody is as fond of brownies as I am. I think I'll bake some chocolate chip cookies, before MLette gets home from work. It's chilly and rainy (again) so it'll make the house cheerier, too. Weird town-name you have (an Indian word?) and interesting that it's so windy. A good place for wind-power! Boston is supposedly a windier city than Chicago (which is the 'windy city') - especially over near the hospital where I work, which is along the river. Sometimes the wind is fierce there and it's a wonder I make it into the building and don't get blown away!

mezz nice idea, of G-d surfing the clouds in a windstorm! I always think He's up there with the white beard in the clouds, but that's sort of a Sunday school way of thinking about it.

Saw a teen magazine at the supermarket with a beefcake/open shirt photo of Kellen Lutz (emmett) with the blond curly hair. It's too bad he'd cut off his curls before Twilight started filming, because Emmet is supposed to have curls. He's a great Emmett anyway, and I think he's fairly like Emmett in his real life too! LOL!
Peter Fancinelli does seem like a very nice guy. I'm sure the guys are all annoyed everybody is all "Oh Rooobbb" and they feell like "What am I, chopped liver?" especially as he's so awkward and dorky and nervous and strange, they just can't see the attraction/why the girls are so ga-ga over him.

I know the other guys on Roswell felt the same way about Jason (not that he was dorky), but why does he get all the fans swooning and less so for the rest of us - not fair. But, welll that's show biz! LOL, even Daniel Radcliff was annoyed that people are now asking him what it was like to work with Rob Pattinson, instead of going all "o0oh Harry Potter boy" over him, recently.

Speaking of Ga-Ga, have you seen that Lady Ga-Ga person? I don't know what she does (singer/performance artist?) but she certainly dresses in some interesting costumes - sort of the UK version of Bjork?

I just keep seeing stuff about her in all the magazines lately.

Oo, big write up about Rob in Us Weekly, which we get anyway so it was a nice surprise when it showed up in the mailbox.

Although if I got every magazine that boy was on the cover of, we'd be in the poor house! LOL!

yes biscuits are cookies. The ones I was referring to are simple wheaten biscuits with a chocolate top. The sponge rolls are sometimes called Swiss Rolls. Think thin sponge, spread with jam and then roll up. As for Hedgehog Slice.... I was going to get the recipe and them realised that all my cookbooks are in a box

So here is the recipe closest to the one I used to make with my mum. (Not sure if we used the condensed milk but it has been around 20 years since I cooked it. Now I buy it ready made.)

Interesting recipes, mezz - so many recipes made with ground up biscuits!
I guess we would call 'slice' a bar cookie. I liked the sound of the maple one, too.
Of course Marie biscuits and caster sugar are also mysteries in the US.

We're glad no actual hedgehogs were harmed in the making of these slices!

There's a popular one in the US called 'ice box cake' that you make with chocolate biscuits and whipped cream. Well. not sure it's still popular but was when I was younger. Funny how even desserts/food goes in and out of fashion!

Oh gosh, now Mr ML is on a new kick - he is renting and watching the HBO series 'Rome' as quickly as humanly possible, renting 2 or 3 installment at a time and watching them til his eye hurt.

Oh well, he's climbing the walls with not being able to play basketball.

I was so excited, the movie 'Joyride 2' was on SciFi channel last night - Kyle Schmid, my Blood ties vampire boy, had a role in it. It's way too scary for me to watch (evil vengeful trucker named Rusty Nail), so I taped it and will just fast forward through it and watch his parts in it (although I know he dies a horrible death before the end in this one - decapitated). He plays sort of a punk goth boy, has a couple of rings in his lip (

fortunately fake ones, like with the punk version of Max from NY in Roswell) etc. I was cracking up because I peeked in a bit, and they were stealing (ahem, borrowing) a car, and it was a Chevy Malibu about the same vintage as my first car.

Bad news is, I just found out they've delayed the 'Blood Ties' N America DVD release from June 3 til June 23.

Oh well, I've waited this long for it, suppose I can wait a bit longer but... darn. Was looking forward to getting it (at long long last - it came out in the UK/region 2 version a year and a half ago - not fair).

I just looked up Lady Ga-Ga and she's not from the UK, she's from New York City.
She's a pop singer and is known for her weird outfits. That's all I know about her.

Very Mondayish MOnday today. Nice to see Poddy flick by - hahah about KP duty and being in the Army now. I think that commercial about how horribly hard it is to make mashed potatoes is so funny - what's to it besides peeling and boiling them and mashing them up? It's not rocket science. Yet my folks loved those powdered instant (ick) mashed potatoes that come in a box.

So many things they have instant mixes for (like brownies) are incredibly easy to make from scratch and taste better. Oh well... sometimes it's fun to get ready-made stuff though. I bought a couple of desserts that caught my eye, one is apple pie and the other is a brownie, and you microwave them and then plop on a chunk of ice cream on top that comes in the package too - seemed pretty fun. Looking forward to trying them - MLette is an apple pie person and Mr ML Jr is definitely about the brownies.

Yes, Poddy is so funny... yesterday with her KP Duty! Poor Poddy! And actually, they've come a looong way with those instant mashed potatoes! I have them in a pinch, and if you DON'T follow the directions and add way more butter and more milk and whip them, they're pretty good! It surprised me! That's when I'm low on potatoes and we just HAVE to have mashed potatoes, (so say it my kids! LOL!), so doctored up, they're pretty good!

It also helps getting a Major Brand and not generic too, because honestly, they need all the help they can get!

I'll have to look up this Lady Ga-Ga and maybe I'll see her in one of her outfits. I guess everyone wants to have an angle, or signiture in the business, eh? But stupid clothes?! Ok, whatever. LOL!

Gosh, MOTHER has been sleepy today... she's sleeping on the couch again, but then again, she was up all night too along with me.

Even my Teddi-Behr was up all night with us... it was way too hot even for him to sleep... we're having a MAJOR Heatwave... went to 105 yesterday and it's suppose to be the same today! UGH! And then high 90's the rest of the week! Instant Summer! Argh!

Lainie had finals today and then she has them again on Wednesday. Needless to say she's Stressed beyond belief! And she was up half the night studying too... and only got a few hours sleep too! Poor baby... finals are so hard on her!

I am burned out......too many ppl needing me(I don't tell all...you guys would say stuff

) but I am struggeling cause it is just hard to never reallybe alone in your own house(kids and husbands don't count for some reason...probabaly cause they don't notice us all that much...like the air they breath

..anyway.after a month of mom I ussually start to crack....got to hang on.....but some days are harder than others.

Castor sugar is just white sugar but finer. In between the courseness of normal white sugar and icing sugar. It is used in some recipies just because it creates lighter things (I think. Actually I have no idea but I always had to use it in my cup cakes and assumed it effected the way they rose) Marie biscuits are just plain biscuits (cookies) or maybe plain biscuits with sugar on them. Kind of more dough than sweet.

my 'clearing up' of things just makes you more confused so lets see how you go with that

Lady Ga-Ga is HUGE over here at present. She's just about to tour with the Pussy Cat Dolls. Huge controversy over whether she's a girl or a tranny. She claims to be all girl. All her songs are very sexual and all dance/pop stuff. Catchy but not one of my favourite performers.

Poddy because you're burnt out. It's tough when all you do is give and not many around you fill you up again.
