| My friend in Florida watches that series on BBC America and adores it! (We don't get that channel, wished we did!) Dominic Monaghan was in that woman detective series too, Hetty Wainthrop, before he was a hobbit. Sorry about Mom and the blood sugar Wen, very alarming! I guess one day of ouchiness is worth being able to walk and get up and down from chairs, and stairs etc again for awhile. Still brought the cane in, just in case (and because it's so handy to get a seat on the subway - heh heh). ![]() Poor MLette, she overslept this morning, and she's always so together and so perfectly organized, I figured she was taking the day off and hadn't told me - I debated waking her up, but hated to wake her up - you know how that is! Then just as I was leaving for work, she got up all cranky and sleepy eyed and an hour late, and had overslept/her clock didn't go off, so I told her to come in later and we'd meet up for lunch. Oops! ![]() I started reading that story some more las night - it goes on and on and on! I had no idea there were all those chapters! Haven't gotten too far - she's just about to kill Jacob for calling the baby 'Nessie'! (giggle) * * * Well, MLette made it to work, and we had lunch and she wasn't too cranky about not waking up (her clock radio was between am and fm or something and all she got was a little static, and slept through it!) Saw a thing that Rob Pattison is now 'hotter than Brad Pitt.' I think that's true! Brad Pitt has pretty much turned into Mr Angelina Jolie/super-dad mode, more than box office heart throb. I don't even have any desire to see Benjamin Button. Did anybody see it?__________________ Jason B is #1 with me "I'm with the vampires" Last edited by MyrnaLynne : 05-08-2009 at 12:07 PM. | |||

| haven't seen Ben Butt. Haven't seen a movie for ages actually (one I went to the movies for) Spent today looking at houses. Got a bit more clarity on where I want to go and of course had my name put down on the lists so I imagine I'll be getting calls from the agents now. Was interesting but exhausting. __________________ | |||

| Morning gals! ![]() ![]() ![]() Another double shift for me at work, what means i can read all your posts during the last week!!!!Yay!!!. The weather here is been awful during this week as well...the last 2 days has been raining and i hope today the weather at least will be a bit warmer ![]() I can't wait to go and see the new "Star Trek" film; which has very good reviews. "Little Ashes" doesn't share very good reviews over here; the newspaper gave the film 2 poor stars yesterday. Never mind because i want to see the film anyway. Just checking the New Moon site and i have read what Megan Fox said about dating guys on their 20's and tells what's her relationship with RobbertP...i think the stupid here is her...honestly she is very pretty and has an amazing body but if i was a man, and for what she said, i would never date her...she seems to have a big ego this girl.....you can read the interview here Megan Fox On Dating, Why Robert Pattinson Is Not Her Type & Her Bulked Up Bod | Access Hollywood - Celebrity News, Photos & Videos I don't know you guys but i think Peter Facinelli is underrated, i think the guys is gorgeous!!!!...and Kellan Lutz, not my type but the guys looks hot in this picture ![]() ![]() ![]() And it's very cool to have updates from Michael Sheen on Tweeter(even i don't have an account) cos he's been posting stuff about the film there. So i'm getting all excited cos they are less than half way of finishing the film... ![]() I have to retract myself for what i said a few weeks ago about "The Mentalist" and me don't liking it...well, last weekend i was off on Sunday & Monday and the Five USA channel was having a re-run of all the episodes of "The Mentalist" aired here (i think the first seven episodes)...and i watched them all....and after that i have to say that i've got hooked up to this show....i love Simon Baker, not that i fancy him but he's very charming and i love the way he plays this character. The same channel is airing an older show that Simon Baker made a few years ago called "The Guardian" where he plays a lawer arrested for drug use, he's sentenced to do 1,500 hours of community service as a child advocate at Legal Aid Services...very good show indeed. I love how versatyle he is. Wen woman you're an inspiration. Everytime i read what you have to go through i really put myself in your position and you're very brave. I hope that spinal nerve burning surgery you mentioned is not as bad as it sounds...sending you loads of good energy!!!...and don't leave your brother or your mom to bother you...sometimes you need to be a bit selfish and have time for yourself!!!! ![]() ![]() Podmom Thanks for all those nice pictures you post for us ![]() ![]() ...and i'm glad you sorted your plumb/cable tv problems out.Mezz Good luck with the new house hunting...i know how much it takes to find the right one. At least here in London takes a long time and everytime i had to move out it's been a nightmare. ML I know what are you going through with your knees. My mom had a very similar problem and she was in hell for years. Don't think too much about a surgery, if you have to have one (and i hope it takes years) you will have time to worry about it...don't give yourself an unnecessary headache...we women get to torment ourselves too much.... ![]() . You're another brave woman!!!!!!I hope you all have a nice weekend...can't wait to be off tomorrow and catch up the new episode of "The Mentalist" & "CSI:NY", lol....on Tuesday i'm going to a rock concert with my friends to see another Californian band called Bleeding Through...excited!!!! Tons of love and Kisses!!!!! ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() __________________ Because He's The Finnest Man on TV (& Everywherelse) Simon Baker Quotes:"I didn’t grow up with money, but I grew up with a lot of space. | Hah, I don't even know who Megan Fox is, but she sounds like an idiot. Although yeh, about 20 something girls and 20 something boys - girls generally mature faster and feel 'way beyond' the guys their age. Hmm, that may continue through life, actually.... ![]() Yes, Kellan isn't my type either but certainly nicely built/very fit looking, and very nice to the fans, although I don't like him always making fun of RobP (even though there is a lot of material to work with there... cough). Oh gosh, there was the worst picture of Peter Fancinelli in a little hat and jacket - I truly think a lot of people become actors just so somebody else can dress them properly. Mr ML looks very cute in his hat but Peter F - not so much. He seems like a very nice man, good husband, loving dad, and enjoying the heck out of his current Twilight fame/fans.Read a very cute story where his wife put on the Twilight movie, so the kids could 'see Daddy' and the 2 year old was trying to talk to him on the TV and couldn't figure out why he didn't answer, because he talks to them via Skype when he's away on location. giggle. Cute. Well, I don't feel so fat, since I dug out a Star Trek movie shirt that says "coming... in 1984" and it still fits very nicely 25 years later (alas, my Tyranossaurus Treks shirt didn't fit/looked like Dolly Parton squeezed into it). ahem. See, I wasn't kidding that I have clothing older than Rob Pattinson! ![]() gabi glad you came around to 'The Mentalist.' Simon Baker is a sweetie in it and it's kind of a charming show, although not great. I like 'Castle' better, although nobody seems to be watching it but me. Hope it doesn't get cancelled. Off to the ST movie in a few hours... It did get great reviews. I was sorry to see 'Little Ashes' got bad reviews in a couple of magazines this week (C+) but very excited when I saw pix of Rob as Dali in there! LOL, I am such a Twi-geek. __________________ Jason B is #1 with me "I'm with the vampires" | |||

| Hey ML honey. How you doing? . That's so cool you can still wear that Treky tee...funny about that Dolly Parton comparison. I was thinking to go to watch the film next weekend...let us know if you liked it!!!. Have fun!!!!I've never seen "Castle", i don't think the Bristish tv is airing that show over here. But i hope it gets pick up for another season for you. I love another shows better than "The Mentalist" but i watch it cos Simon is fun to watch and i don't think there's anything better on tv anyway, lol. I still need to catch up with Smallville season 8...i need to know what happens with Justin Hartley's The Green Arrow character...he's too hot not to watch ![]() ![]() xxxx __________________ Because He's The Finnest Man on TV (& Everywherelse) Simon Baker Quotes:"I didn’t grow up with money, but I grew up with a lot of space. | We liked the 'Star Trek' movie - JJ Abrams did not mess it up. :> Although the roads around the malls it was on weren't marked and very confusing and we made wrong turns and drove around and around and I thought we'd never get there on time! But we made it - and there were so many commercials and trailers and adverts, we shouldn't have worried about being late and were getting impatient for the movie to start. All the movies they advertised looked horrible: Land of the Lost (Will Farrell), Year One (Jack Black and ? Michael Cera, cave guy thing), GI Joe (live action), and Terminator whatever with that foul-mouthed Christian Bale. The only one that looked halfway decent was Transformers 2.Mr ML went home after the movie and I went to the party with my friends, which was more enjoyable than I thought - amazing how little people change in 25 years! Just a bit older, fatter, greyer, but basically still the same. Pretty nice bunch of people, I hadn't given a thought to in 25 year, but was surprised how many of them I remembered. Food was good, they had various videos and party games and it was a nice time. They gave me a ride home. While I was gone, I assume my kids went shopping and making sneaky Mother's Day plans! I hope so. They asked what I wanted and I couldn't think of a single thing. MLette has to work, so we'll celebrate in the evening I guess, when she gets home. I was stressing about this ST thing, so I'm glad I don't have anything going on tomorrow.Oh, and the morning before the movie, we took MLette to the eye doctor for an exam and to get glasses and it was taking her forever to pick some out/find some she liked and I was afraid we'd miss the movie. But it worked out and she's (finally) getting her glasses - I said I'd get her new glasses like for her birthday last August and it took this long to get it accomplished! But, wow, I had no idea glasses were so expensive! We have this eyeglass plan through work where you pay a little very week and can get a free pair of glasses each year -didn't realiZe what a great bargain it was!Okay, bushed, off to bed. Oh, Ace of Cakes tonight they made the 100th show 'Lost' cake and the whole bakery went to Hawaii to make them the cake and then all the cast of the show came and were so happy. Especially Hurley, who is a huge cake fan (ahem maybe why he's so huge). He's gotten even heavier than before - starting to look like Dom Delouis (rest in peace). Anyway GNITE and Happy Mother's Day tomorrow! __________________ Jason B is #1 with me "I'm with the vampires" | |||

| Hi Everyone! And HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY to all the Mom's out there!!! ![]() MyrnaLynne, Have fun at seeing Star Trek with your friends! And I'm glad it got good reviews! I hope it REALLY IS GOOD! (fingers crossed!) I do plan to see it, but not on opening weekend. Too much going on this weekend to see it. And no, I haven't seen Benjamin Buttons either... that's three No's so far on the this thread LOL! I wonder who DID see it? LOL! Sorry to hear about MLette over sleeping! But I really can relate to that! Sometimes No.2 son over sleeps and I knock on his door to wake him up, and sometimes he tells me that he's taking the day off and I've awakened him for nothing! Oh well, I do mean well. ![]() And that's good to hear that Rob is Hotter than Brad Pitt, altho' Brad Pitt never did anything for me... Just not my type I suppose. :> And ITA, Meagan Fox does sound like an IDIOT. Heard she only dates older men, and NOT the greatest men at that! She's just a baby, so what does she know anyway! Yes, Kellan isn't my type either,... but yes, he's nicely built, got to give him that. Heard an interview with him and he's going to crash with Rob in Rob's room when Rob goes to Italy and while Rob's working, Kellan is going to do the tourist thing. So that's Really nice of Rob to let him do that! ****I'm so glad you liked the Movie! And I'm sooo glad that you had a great time with your Star Trek friends too, and that the food was good too! ****Mezzi, Glad you had an interesting time house hunting, and getting to know what you'd like and such. And yes, going from house to house can be very exhausting... I remember it well even tho' I've been in my house for almost 25 years now, but just finding this one, we had looked at over 50 houses! I hope you find one that you fall in love with! ![]() Gabi, Me, an inspiration? I don't know why? I don't think I'm brave at all... I just do the things that need to be done, that's all. But you're really sweet to say that about me. ![]() Enjoy your days off, and have fun at the Concert too! Poddy, Oh, so your Liz is still in Nashville! Didn't know that. That was nice that she sent you some beautiful flowers tho'. ![]() And what test is Emily studying for? Is she taking some more College Classes? Sorry she's so stressed, poor baby. Hope she does well on her test.Lainie starts finals soon and she'll be all stressed soon too! She only has about 2 weeks left of school, and then she'll be out for the Summer.Oh Boy!...Grrrr! You don't even know the half of the problems I've had getting Flowers to the Wake and the Funeral with 'Teleflorist' for my Ex-Father-in-Law. I place the order to have the Spray of flowers delivered for the 6th, and I got a confirmation Email on the 7th saying that the flowers had been delivered, so I thought everything was taken care of. Well, I spoke with my Sis-in-Law on the 8th and asked her if she liked the flowers... she said she hadn't seen any flowers from me! I freaked! To try to make a long story short, she gave me the wrong Funeral home's address... the Funeral Home has two locations and she gave me the address to the wrong one, in which I had the flowers delivered to. Now really, there was ONLY ONE person with my Father-in-law's name that had passed away at that funeral home, and you'd think they'd figure it out to get the flowers to the Right funeral home location. Well, I found out later from the Funeral Director that the Flowers hadn't come at all!!! (Aaaahhhhhh!!!!) I freaked again!!! So I called 'Teleflorist' and told them that the flowers were Never delivered and now the Funeral was on the 9th and the Flowers HAD to be there ASAP! They assured me that they would be so I gave them the address to the Church. Well, later as I looked up the Obituary on line, I noticed that they were having the Funeral from the Funeral Home and THEN just a Mass at the Church an hour later, so I called them back and told them this and gave them the New Address, with just hours to spare! So I called the Funeral Home to speak with the Director but she was busy with the Family and she was suppose to get back with me as soon as she could. I just wanted to know if the flowers ever arrived! Well, I waited ALL DAY to hear back from her and I never received ANY called back from her! I am totally frustrated about the whole thing!!! I didn't want to call my Sis-in-Law today, because I'm sure she was exhausted, but I'll call tomorrow, (technically today),and wish her a Happy Mother's Day and also ask if the flowers ever showed up. (sigh) I have no use for peeps that don't do their jobs and blow peeps off like that!!! Grrrrr!!!! And I can't rely on 'Teleflorist' because they gave me a false Confirmation last time saying that the flowers were delivered on the 6th, (when I originally wanted then to be delivered!), and they hadn't been delivered At All! ![]() Well, I'm Never using 'Teleflorist' again, that's for Damn Sure! Grrrr!!! And they ('Teleflorist') were suppose to credit my credit card 20% because of the inconvenience they caused me, but when I checked, it wasn't listed... Just the original price and handling fees were on the statement! Grrrr!!! But it's not that 20% off could really help or matter in the long run, but these peeps lie left and right!!! Ok, enough about that! I had a nice day with my kids. ![]() No.1 son ended up inviting us over for Supper and he made Burrito's that were Very Good! (YUM!) (Did I mention that he does the cooking in the house? He's a fabulous cook!) Anyway, Lainie gave me my present early too, (even tho' I told her to wait), but she wanted to give it to me early... I guess she couldn't wait, LOL! She got me Chocolate Truffles! But I will eat them sparingly, and will enjoy them Tremendously!!!**** Update**** I spoke to my Sis-in-Law and I'm furious!!! The flowers NEVER made it to the Funeral!!! They never showed up at all that I know of! Grrrr!!!My Sis-in-Law is going to see if they ever showed up at all tomorrow, and if they ever did, then she'll have then bring them to the grave site. Never use Teleflorist!!! They are terrible!!! ![]() Sorry to end on such a sour note, but MOTHER is here and I have to go as she's calling for me... Biggest Hugs to All, ![]() Wen __________________ JB's Obsessed Fan#64 ( I LOVE JASON BEHR!!!) ![]() "God never gives you more than you can handle. | My poor ST friend was dreading Mother's Day, because she was taking her difficult and Alzy mother out to eat. sigh. My friend said the nicest thing, in her mother's day wishes: You're a good mother. Your children love you, respect you and like you. That is a heady combination and says something very positive about you. I know it's rude to toot my own horn, but that was just such a beautiful thing to say! MLette worked and so far nobody did anything for me for Mother's Day! I will have to plan somethng next year! Mr ML Jr keeps asking periodically if I want to do something. sigh So far, all I've done is box up 2 cartons of VCR tapes (emptied a bureau they were in) and took a long nap. Mr ML is watching 'Notting Hill' on TV for the umpteenth time - almost as bad as me with Twilight. ![]() Sorry about the lying cheating florist, Wen. My friend wired me flowers once, and I never got them either! I think they delivered them to the wrong house and the people just kept them. That's terrible they put you through so much aggravation, just trying to send some flowers to the funeral.A guy Clinton at the ST party showed some funny ST videos - he said he'd put one on YouTube and it had 50,000 hits already (Red Shirts dying) - he had 3 of them. I think it's under comedy4cast. While cleaning out the VCR tapes, I came across the Star Trek movie parody play that I had a little part in, in 1989, at a Star Trek convention, and watched it. I was surprised it still played after 20 years. I made the most awesome costume for it too, if I do say so myself. It was a parody of Star Trek III and pretty funny. It was all a long time ago and I don't remember very much about all the interesting stuff I did, which is too bad. sigh. Oh well, MLette should be home in a couple of hours and then maybe Mother's Day will get started! Mr ML mowed the lawn and is going out to play basketball so he'll be gone. sigh. Kind of a weird Mother's Day this year, so far.... ![]() * * * It got better (and also worse)! Mr ML Jr and I tried this new bakery I saw advertised on a local food show this morning (Phantom Gourmet) and he bought some fabu cake and pastries ($) for later. :> We ordered Chinese takeout for dinner and then had the fancy cake for dessert later. And there were cards and gifts - got a beautiful purple t-shirt and purple necklace from MLette and a nice gift card to Kohl's from Mr ML Jr, so I can get some summer clothes. She has such nice taste and knows what I like. Such nice kids! Except I wrenched my back somehow (probably lugging boxes of videotapes etc and cleaning). Oh, MLette weeded through the videos with me some more - we have a big bag of old bad videos to get rid of - exercise videos I never did, etc - and sad to say, I boxed up my Roswell tapes too, and my Moonlight tapes, and my tapes with Kyle Schmid on them too. Didn't get rid of them, but put them in a box. sigh. ![]() Glad we did some weeding - Also swooped the mess off the kitchen table into a box, and then started going through the box and tossing stuff (March, April, May stuff - sigh). I just cannot keep up with the stuff that comes in and piles up on the kitchen table. ![]() Don't win any prizes for housekeeping, I'm afraid! We could clean like that all day, every day and this place would never be sorted out. Plus the spring allergies hit today and I sneezed and sneezed and sneezed this morning (oak tree pollen I think). Allergies. Koff. Oh and the dog rolled in some goose poop and stank like garbage and needed a bath, but because I hurt my back, MLette and Mr ML did it, because I couldn't bend over the tub, wrestle with the dog (besides it was his fault/dog was with him when it rolled in muck). Put a new summer collar on him too, my friend had sent as a gift - sort of like a Hawaiian shirt design. Funny - it's not really 'him' but I figured I'd wash his old collar, since he was all clean. We only bathe him very rarely, when he gets into something gross. Plus - Mr ML went to play basketball - and got his tooth knocked out! He was so upset - it was a fake tooth already but it's going to be $ getting it replaced, plus he's so mortified to have his front tooth missing and look like a hayseed from the hills. Poor Mr ML - not a good day for either of us. But he already had a dentist appointment for Tuesday so he'll go see them soon. sigh. Always something!__________________ Jason B is #1 with me "I'm with the vampires" Last edited by MyrnaLynne : 05-10-2009 at 08:05 PM. | |||

| Oh ML what a topsy turvy mothers day you had. At least you weren't forgotten like you thought might have been the case at first. Sorry about the back. I'm still packing the kitchen myself. I figure the kitchen is going to take the longest. ST got very good reviews over here. Margaret and David the reviewers said that Wolverine could have learned a lot from it. I had a bit of a weird mothers day. Did nothing motherly on it of course but was actually a bit sad and melancholy this year. Mum's been gone for just over 18 years now and this is the first mother's day that I've actually missed her. Oh well. Feeling better today. Wen, just doing what you need to do each day is exactly why you're such an inspiration sweety That was very annoying about the flowers. I hope they apologise for the mix up.Hi Gabi ![]() __________________ | |||

| ![]() Looks like we all survived mothers day of course mine was kind of sad with no kids and a mom that isn't doing well............ Liz was feeling bad about that (the no kids)....she had another present for me on the actual day...she had dad wrap it(sent it from amazon) and print out the card that she made online. Made me cry a little....her card was very heartfelt stuff about me(kind of like your friends comment ML which is very true about you!....she was nice to say it..........anyway also about learning from me with her child etc....and gave us a cute book about picking out the name you want your grandchildren to call you. She called and texted a few times on the day too......Em called once ..she has the stress thing and is milking that oh Wen the test is to become a certified financial advisor(I think that is it) it is a big test she has to take(Liz did it too...and passed the first times which is hard...50% flunk the first try) three yrs running you have to study hard for months before the test.....the test goes on from 9 to 5 on a saturday ...June 4th for her.....if she passes her company pays...if she flunks she has to pay and I think it costs 1,200 $ plus she'll be mortified......praying she passes not cause of her career just her emotional well being. ML Sorry about your back and the mothers day feelings in the beginning(it is another holiday that puts pressure on ppl......and I always think of ppl who are missing their moms like you Mezz .....maybe you are getting closer to your moms age and it triggers something......missing her to relate to now you are a very kind and strong young woman.....a testament to her.Wen gosh awful about the flowers....very frustrating hope Lainie aces her finals!! I'm sure she will Brad neverdidanything for me either.....Em saw that Benjamin movie...she hated it. oops I gotta run.....have a good day ![]() ![]() __________________ ![]() | |||

| I was thinking that yesterday, about Mother's Day, when I saw my neighbors Margaret and Barbara, neither of whom ever had kids, and both their mothers are long gone. So if you don't have kids for whatever reason (or your kids hate you/have nothing to do with you on Mother's Day/or any other time), you would feel bad, and if your Mother has passed, you would miss her and feel bad - kind of a tough holiday for lots of people, one way or another! I don't think they should have holidays that make people feel bad, but I suppose there's no way around that. A lot of my friends are single/never married/never had kids, and their Mom's are gone so - Mother's Day not a good holiday for them! I remember when I was little and watched Captain Kangaroo (yes, I was very little then), his show used to have a song: "It's another be good to Mother day..." and I thought it meant it was Mother's Day (again) and I couldn't understand why those Mothers got so many holidays, and why wasn't there ever a Kids' Day? ![]() Of course, most mothers would say that every day is 'kids' day'. Although I think in Japan they do have Boy and Girl Day holidays, too. ![]() It was 45oF again this morning here and it's the middle of May! I think my friend is right and we're having 'global cooling' and not 'global warming.' Although I suppose if your climate is messed up, it's bad no matter what direction it's headed. sigh. Oh that financial planning test sounds like the CPA exam my friend had to take - it's very very hard, and it had 3 parts and she studied like the devil and took it over and over again. And now she has to take another called the CIA exam (? certified internal auditor) and same thing all over again. She is jus so good and disciplined and studies, studies, studies for it! I know I couldn't do that. Anyway, hope Em passes with flying colors and impressed Liz did it first try. Your gals are smarties. And with the economy in such a mess, everybody needs financial advice so I think it's a great field.I thought Brad Pitt was kindof hot for awhile, even though I don't usually care for blond men. I liked him in "Meet Joe Black" and some of his other earlier movies. shrug. Glad to hear the Benjamin Button-ness is getting ignored/thumbs down. Somebody said it's more of a clever parlor trick, with the special effects, than an actual movie. The Star Trek movie made ~$75 million opening weekend - didn't top 'Wolverine' but did very well. I know the people who saw it with me Saturday were planning to go see it again ASAP. I'm not that big a Trekkie anymore. Wouldn't mind seeing it again, if my kids want to go or something, but not in any breathless rush, don't plan to buy the DVD etc. It was good but... ... it wasn't 'Twlight'! ![]() Although not completely true - I want those ST glasses from Burger King! Except we never eat at BK (or McD); but Mr ML gets lunch there sometimes so - maybe.I read someplace RobP saying he put out his recycling and had like 300 cans of Coke - so no WONDER he can't sleep! Too much caffeine. Way way too much caffeine. ![]() Some MOnday RobP goodness: ![]() __________________ Jason B is #1 with me "I'm with the vampires" Last edited by MyrnaLynne : 05-11-2009 at 11:33 AM. | |||
