| Safe Travels Poddy! ![]() And yes, ITA, that BD is a bit old for a 6th grader. ![]() Thanks for all the Great Pics! They have Great Chemistry! You can tell they are good friends. ![]() And have fun dog sitting for your Bro'. What kind of dog does he have? Just curious? ![]() Hope Big Viv enjoys visiting her friends too! ![]() BBW, & Gabi! It's so good to see you both! ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Yes, I like that name for an older woman dating a younger man much better than Oogy Lady too! And MyrnaLynne, You are funny about what an older man dating a younger woman is called ... Rich! I'd call him something else, but I'm too much of a lady to say such things Out Loud, but I can still think it! LOL!Gabi, I'm glad you've been having fun touring with your favorite group 'Papa Roach'. Yes, my sons went to High School with them... I told you that right?! Yep, they are Northern California boys. ![]() Hope your day goes by quickly, and enjoy your days off too! ![]() MyrnaLynne, I didn't know either that the BF had been gone for 2 mos.... I guess you hadn't mentioned it, or if you had, I'd missed it. I guess the only thing you can do is be supportive of MLette's decisions since it's her life and her decisions. Sending her hugs just because. After Lainie got out from school yesterday, she and I did MOTHER'S grocery shopping, (in the rain, I might add. UGH!) And Lainie has an uncovered pick-up... (Almost looks like Bella's... same color but not as Big!) Anyway, since MOTHER gets paid once a month, she does her major shopping once a month, and she had a shopping list and a half! ![]() We were, (no kidding!), in that market for 2 hrs! Then loading the truck up in the pouring rain, then off to her place, then carting all of the groceries in, then putting it all away... I was ready to CROAK! My back felt like it was completely broken and my legs were swollen like balloons! UGH! Normally I would Never have gone, but Lainie needed my help because MOTHER needed THAT Many Things! UGH! Then after we put everything away, we had to carry her overnight stuff out to the truck because she's spending the weekend with me. All this took hours and then I still had to go home and make supper, but I was smart and while at the market, I bought a couple of their fresh take and bake pizza's because with the way I felt, I was not about to slave over a hot stove, since it was my night to cook. Anyway, we talked way into the wee hours and she conked off, but I still can't sleep and it's nearly 6am. (sigh) I'll probably get tired when the sun comes up tho'. One would think I'd sleep like a rock with that kind of workout today... hobbling around a busy suppermarket for hours, then lugging heavy groceries into her place and then putting them all away, then waiting on her hand and foot since she's been here all freakin' night, and I had only slept 1 and 1/2 hours the night before. UGH! But alas, sleep will not come. (sigh) And I keep thinking about that stupid Ultra Sound that I have on Monday. Because I have a Dr's appt right before it, so I'll have to have all the water finished by then, and I'm going to be sooo uncomfortable with all that water in me during that Dr's appt and until the Ultra Sound is over! UGH! Sorry, I don't mean to be a big baby and complain so much. ![]() Hope Everyone has a Great Weekend! ![]() Hugs, ![]() Wen __________________ JB's Obsessed Fan#64 ( I LOVE JASON BEHR!!!) ![]() "God never gives you more than you can handle. | Oh gosh, Wen you should get the 'internal' ultrasound - no drinking tons of water, no holding it/having to pee/climbing the walls! I was like "Why didn't you people tell me about this one sooner!!!" One's torture... the other is, well, kind of pleasant (in a really kinky way).... ![]() gabi We're going to see 'Wolverine' today - it got a really bad review here, so now I'm worried it's going to be a bad movie. Yes, Hugh married an 'older woman' (and big star at the time in Australia) and they seem very happy, old as she is - LOL! And they adopted the 2 kids and seem really happy with them too. He is a very sweet guy. Talented, too. Yes, those pics of Rob and Kristen are wonderful - I like the way he has his hand folded in on her arm - maybe he has sweaty palms and didn't want to stick them on her arm? He said when the Twilight DVD came out, he happened to go into Blockbuster and saw all the little fans crying with excitement - but nobody recognized him, because he usually dresses like a bum/homeless man (photo #1) LOL! I didn't really warm up to Kristen as Bella for a long time. Although I saw another actress that Stephenie Meyer had imagined as Bella and she was way too pretty and perky-looking, I thought. Kristen does seem to be shy and not outgoing; Rob is nervous but manages to be outgoing at the same time. He's a nervous chatter. It's true, Dakota Fanning is a phenomenon - she must be some kind of mini genius. I feel sort of bad for the Olsen Twins - they both seem so strange now that they're quasi-grown up, and they are multiskazillionaires from their 'empire' of movies, etc, so they probably never have to work again but still... they also usually look like 2 homeless people! Well, I don't feel sorry they're so rich, feel sorry that their lives seem kind of bizarre and they don't seem happy. Wen your mother really put you to work! Hope you will get to put your feet up and rest a bit. I wish she wouldn't be so demanding all the time! Poker night went fine, except Mr ML decided to go out and play basketball before his company arrived, even though MLette and I told him not to - I wasn't going to entertain his friends for him! His brother showed up with one of the stranger guys (had a medical thing, lives in a nursing home now, even though he's only 50ish) and I took the dog and shut myself up in the living room and watched HGTV (and fell asleep). Plus he doesn't have a watch, so he can't keep track of the time. So rude. I think most of the poker guys showed up before he did. Later we left the dog with Mr ML Jr (and his computer) in the living room and went over to the den with the DVD player and MLette and I watched 'Doubt' which was very good - it's set back in the early 60s in the Bronx and it was sort of like watching a movie of our childhoods (it was the author's childhood), except we weren't catholic/didn't go to parochial school. You know, when men wore hats and people dressed up for church and nuns wore habits etc. I think Mr ML will enjoy it, because he was catholic and he did go to parochial school. Meryl Streep was brilliant, as was Phillip Seymour Hoffman. Everybody in it was very good. Amy Adams and Viola Davis. I think they were all nominated for Oscars for this one, and I think Meryl Streep won, and she deserved it. While I was watching it, I said "Oh, Meryl Streep should get an Oscar for this performance!" So funny, the guy who wrote the play/directed the movie, Shanely - he has the same name as one of the molesting priest guys, so somehow I got the idea it was written by a former molesting priest - like a memoir! But of course, it was a different guy with the same last name. I didn't feel like I could talk about the situation with the BF (still don't) so that's why I hadn't mentioned it. sigh. __________________ Jason B is #1 with me "I'm with the vampires" | |||

| I've had the internal ultra sound before too, but I don't know why they want me to have the FULL BLADDER one... I guess they can see more with this one? ![]() And yes, I wish MOTHER wasn't so demanding too! But she's always playing the 'Helpless One' and her FAVORITE WORDS ARE... "I can't do that." So she NEVER wants to do ANYTHING for herself! It's very annoying! Grrr!!!I'm glad you enjoyed 'Doubt', altho' I was pretty leary about seeing that movie. I don't do well with children being hurt in movies. Especially with sexual molestation! I just can't watch movies like that. ![]() And I also grew up Catholic... and that's why I Am Not Catholic Today! Those Nuns were MEAN! I never understood how they could preach of a loving Jesus, and then with the next breath, tell you that you are never good enough and that you were going to Hell anyway, and they'd beat you with their wooden whip sticks just for talking or looking the wrong way! ![]() I swear, to be a Nun back then, the pre-requisit was to HATE children! They, (the Nuns and the Priests), frightened the beejeebees out of me!!! ![]() And you didn't DARE tell your parents that the NUNS hit you because then you'd get a beating for being bad, even tho' you really weren't! ![]() And then they'd, (the Nuns and Priests), make you feel guilty for EVERYTHING! Geesh! ![]() No, I did NOT have a good Catholic experience. It just didn't work out for me. ![]() Hey Poddy & Gabi! ![]() Well, I think I'm going to try to lie down and get a few winks. Wish me luck! ![]() Hugs, ![]() Wen __________________ JB's Obsessed Fan#64 ( I LOVE JASON BEHR!!!) ![]() "God never gives you more than you can handle. Hey Wen, i know what you mean. Anything that's human is no perfect...no way nuns or priests can tell people what to do in life...we all are imperfect and we make mistakes. | Hey Gabi! So We Both are Survivors of growing up Catholic! We made it out Alive! I too reject the Catholic ways with the Priest and Nuns and them Praying to Everyone under the Sun Except to Our Sweet Jesus. Anyway, thanks for the Hugs, and sending you hugs back for your Catholic Ordeal too! ![]() And Thank you for the nice Hunky pic of Hugh and his baby daughter! He really does have a nice body! ![]() Poddy, Thanks for the hugs as well! You are a Sweetie for being so caring too! Yes, My Sweet Jesus Is LOVE, and I'm so glad I've learned that! So, I've been a Born Again Christian since I've been in my teens and my faith is strong. ![]() Oh, your Bro' has a Brittney Spaniel! Nice and Pretty dog! Such a good disposition, happy, and eager to please. That's really nice of you to dog sit. Did your Bro' go off on vacation? Good time of year for it! The tropics are nice this time of year too for a vacation spot. Oooh, and Thank you for all the Great Pics! The wolf pack and also of Our Beautiful Jason! ![]() I wonder if the boy/wolf with the question mark will be Quil? Maybe, yes?! ![]() And Rob and Kristen just Always seem to look Nice! And Yes, Jason's New Movie does look good! I can't hardly wait to see it! ![]() Well, MOTHER went home today... said she wanted to get a head start on the things she needed to do tomorrow... Like do her hair and such... takes her a full day anymore to do her hair as she gets tired and does it in degrees. So, she'll keep her hair in rollers Sunday and comb out her hair on Monday and have it done for the Dr's appt. Anyway, we, (No.2 son, Lainie & I) went out to dinner tonight to our favorite Mexican Restaurant, and it was Great! We haven't been out for a while, so it was a really nice treat! ![]() And it's STILL Raining. And it's suppose to rain for the next four days too. I know we need the rain, but Not All At Once! Geesh! | hey Wen ahh dinner out with 2 of your kids.....sweet. I love mexican too and next to never go out to one(partly cause we got spoiled after finding out what real mexican or TExMex food really tastes like while living in Texas and cause we just don't go out to dinner that much any more) California I'm sure has great Mexfood imagine pic of Max serinading Liz in EOTW here I was wondering about him too....the nerdy werewolf Well rainy weather is always a good excuse to curl up with a good book Glad mom is giving you a break...enjoy it Glad you were able to escape the"religion" part of your faith and go right to the source You rock too btw to say you are a born again Christian...which I think you guys have figured out I am but that term gets a bad rap I think...I can't even remember when that term came around....I don't remember it when I was young. One time I was with a friend of mine and her friends and they were talking about how predjudice was pretty much gone these days....(shows how young and stupid they were to be able to even think that) anyway, I was listening and I said I bet I can think of a group you are prejudiced against(they were liberal types) and I said born again Chritians....and they all immediately said, well yes we are to them...and then I said well I'm one.....uncomfortable silence I really ,,.now that I am thinking about this.....consider myself a follower of Jesus....(although in the NT it does say one needs to be born again ..so of course I agree) but with men sometimes the less man words involved the better you must be up really early or not gotten to sleep yet Wen ![]() Speaking of mom hair.....we've been having to wash and do moms hair for a couple of yrs now that she is away from her hair dresser.... and it took me at least a half hour to blow dry.curl....and she was getting sick of that so she got it cut real short....no more old lady hair helmet...short and more stylish(perm now grown out) and best of all a snap to do a relief to both of us ![]() well it's good to be with Viv at the beach again......she'll get to go to her church today and see all her old lady friends and we'll probably go out with one of her 2 best friends left "Aunt" Grace 86 and really still perky....her hubbie Jack will be 90 this Sept.....was a bomber pilot in WW2 in Europe.......the last great generation leaving us soon.... they both are chugging along though.hey I found a pic of our OC church...the one I grew up in.....well it's an old post card but it is our church ![]() ![]() thought I'd stick in my fav pic of big Viv since I'm talking about her (my mom and oldest daughter Elizabeth) gabi this is Christmas morning 07 at my house in PA![]() __________________ ![]() Last edited by podmom : 05-03-2009 at 05:50 AM. | |||

| Wow, that's an impressive church! I was picturing something quaint and 'beach-y.' Yes, the nuns and priests have gotten a very bad reputation in the old days, deservedly so for a lot of them. They don't show anything bad happening in 'Doubt' it's all suspicion and a few suspicious things - old nun is sure she knows, priest denies it, young nun isn't sure - it's about Doubt and it's never clear. Very good movie, although Meryl Streep is the old school slap your head, scare the life out of you type nun/school principal. The whole movie is about suspicion etc, but after the whole molesting scandal with the church, well, of course I watched it without a HINT of doubt! I used to donate money to the local church that Tom's family attended, in memory of his mother, but after the whole scandal thing - not anymore! I forgot how pretty Viv is, and of course your daughters are both beautiful. Yes, I was reading the paper this morning and seeing how many people died at 86 or so (Bea Arthur) and thinking that's my dad's age now. sigh. Nobody knows the length of their days, though. There were people who died 'unexpectedly' at 49 in the paper! He's perking along pretty well, but I feel bad he's all alone and so far away from me and from my (useless) brother. We all went to see Wolverine yesterday and then went out to lunch together - a very nice day. Plus it looked like rain but then turned into the most gorgeous of days. So so beautiful with all the flowering trees, and spring flowers and tiny soft green leaves coming out. Springtime! The movie wasn't bad, although parts of it were a little confusing, as it's been a long time since the first movie and I was never an expert on X-Men mythology. Like I couldn't figure out why they had the one guy turn fat, was it some strange attempt at comic relief? - but Mr ML said later that the Blob is one of the X-men. Oh. There were a few twists/surprises (for poor Wolverine). Some spectacular scenery in Canada. Dominic Monaghan is in there, Jason's co-star from Livien (oh yeh, and that little HObbit movie and Lost) and that was a nice surprise. Hugh Jackman naked, always a good thing. He bulked up scarily much for this role. Ryan Renolds bulked up his arms - he's a pretty man - but I couldn't help thinking about him being the cheating husband from 'Adventureland' and not liking him! LOL! Anyway, came home, of course Mr ML had to go play basketball. Mlette and I walked the dog a few times - and I totally konked out on the sofa around 7 pm - and slept till 11 pm! I slept like the dead and couldn't get up. And then I finally managed to get up, walked the dog again, and went to bed! LOL! I didn't think I'd get to sleep after a 4-hour 'nap' but I read a little 'Eclipse' (Bella just saw the wolf posters and sneaked off to visit Jacob) and managed to sleep off and on fitfully - had a weird dream about preparing bodies for funerals! That was a really weird one. I don't know where this stuff comes from, in my sleeping brain. Corpses. Tiny babies. What next?![]() That's good Viv went with a modern, easier to deal with hairdo. I miss my longer hair but it was getting so scraggly and short is easier to deal with. Although it's getting so messy right now, it's looking like RobP! I remember I gave my mother-in-law a haircut once and I was sooo nervous I'd do a bad job and mess up. She had the loveliest finest white hair then. sigh. I miss her; she was a wonderful person. Thanks for the "last International playboy" pix! Love Jason in the tub with the rubber duckie! I don't think Netflix would have it yet, as the ordering is pre-ordering and it's not released yet. And Netflix might never get it, because it's a small indie movie. I'm still thinking about going down to NYC to see it, esp as they moved the date to June. But probably too lazy (and too limpy) to actually made the trip. sigh. * * * We went grocery shoppping - I really am a 14 year old girl - I just picked up another issue of J-14 because Rob and Taylor were in it, and Rob saying "I do need love" - well, of course he does! LOL, said he took an obsessed fan out to dinner, told her all his troubles - and never heard from her again/scared her off! Was thinking about Hugh Jackman and the older wife - his mother left the family (moved to England?) when he was young and his dad raised him so - probably missing a Mom? My 2 cent armchair psychology. Although same story with that horrible Chad Michael Murray and he's dating teenagers, was married and divorced in about 10 minutes so - who knows? ![]() __________________ Jason B is #1 with me "I'm with the vampires" Last edited by MyrnaLynne : 05-03-2009 at 10:13 AM. | |||
