Well, now we have a new plan, to take Mr ML out to eat today for Father's Day (beat the rush), as MLette works Sunday and Mr ML Jr has to work this Sunday too. So we'll go see Jason's movie on Sunday instead and do everything else today. But probably do the Father's Day cards, gifts (which I still need to wrap!) etc Sunday night - like they did with me on Mother's Day - ignored me all day long and then had a party in the evening once MLette was home.

OH, and the kids both thought I should bake a Father's Day cake! We'll have to see about THAT! It seems like it's going to be hot and muggy here today (for a change of pace). It poured and poured yesterday - mist, drizzle, hard rain - every kind of rain. When I walked Elmo this morning, the grass was soaked.

I think he's a pretty dog too - has golden eyes like Jason (and the Cullens) and is shaped like a bassett but has markings like a Bernese Mountain dog, a breed I've always admired. Shiny fur too, and a funny tail with a big mowhawk down the back of it. I like the way dog paws smell like Fritos, too.

YES, I love his ears the best too! - well, I love every part of him (except maybe the constantly shedding fur and doggy odors - ahem) but he has the loveliest ears. They are the softest part of him, too. Thanks, his paw is all better. It got better really fast, so probably if I'd skipped the vet, it would have gotten better anyway. Although maybe the pain meds for a couple of days kept him from licking it, so it would heal up again. He only had that cone on for about 4 hrs, the day he got it, and that was it. Stupid cone. I didn't do all the washing his foot etc the vet said either and I thought antibiotcs were overkill.

I can't take any credit for the orchid - I bought it in bloom and all I did was not kill it (so far) and enjoy the flowers. They like humidity but don't like to be sopping wet/watered too much. But different types of orchids differ. Humid places like Florida are terrific for orchids (good for orchids, bad for people! LOL!)
I can't grow African violets though - always kill them.
My mother was good at growing those.

Wen that's great that your doctor gave you a back way home that avoids the freeway and traffic jams! That was very nice of him. That's great that you are eliminating doctors one by one. Step in the right direction. I remember I was so happy when I got off the water pill, and the (giant) potassium pill I had to take (to counteract the water pill). I hate pills you have to take because of OTHER pills you take - that seems really stupid to me.

Well, better start doing all the stuff today - was just weeding through the emails - they do tend to pile up at home. At work I'm really vigilant about getting rid of them so they don't fill the thing up. Off to send some birthday cards to a sister-in-law and Aunt! My mother's birthday was the end of this month. Cancer the crab - aptly named sign!

Sounds like a Great Plan for celebrating Mr. ML! And sure, why not a cake too... I've seen them in the market especially for Father's Day! LOL!

I'm so glad Elmo's paw is all better and that it healed quickly! We worry about them just as we do our kids....well they are our furry kids!

And That's so cool that he has Golden Eyes!

Teddi has soft ears too, like velvet, and Lainie just LOVES his ears... she's ALWAYS nuzzling them or rubbing them, but always messing with them... It's a good thing that Teddi is a Big Sweetheart and just LOVES to be loved up!

My beloved Honey, (my golden retriever), had the softest ears too... like puffs of fluff and silk. Lainie never stopped messing with her ears too, but Honey was so used to it that she loved it! (sigh) I miss my baby girl so much.

I miss my cuddle love Belle too. She was taken from me too soon. She was such a happy girl. She was half Rott, and half German Shephard. They really do leave paw prints on your heart.

Here's a picture of Belle with my DIL...

And I miss my 1st dog terribly too..., my beautiful German Shephard, Vanilla,... she was the Best, and never left my side. I took her everywhere I went with no leash needed.

She didn't think she was a dog either, she thought she was human! We'd say... 'Look at that dog' when she was being cute or something like that, and she'd actually get up to see where the dog was! She was hysterically funny!

And I even miss MOTHER'S old crabby Blue Spotted Queensland healer, Misty. She was funny in her own way, but STUBBORN, just like MOTHER! LOL! MOTHER had her for 7 years and Spoiled the Heck out of her, then after she moved into an apt that didn't allow dogs, I took Misty in and had her for 7 yrs also. She acted more like a cat, because she only wanted loving when SHE wanted it! Funny girl. LOL!

Oh they give us so much pleasure and most of all, unconditional love. They really are special to my heart.

Oops, got carried away there...sorry about the doggy memory lane...

Well, I still think you have a green thumb, because you CAN keep your beautiful Orchids alive!

I know African Violets are really hard to grow! Had a friend that grew them and he used to bake the soil in his oven! Said it sterilized the soil that the plants needed. To me, that's Way to much work!

And I hear you about that dang water pill and that HUGE Potassium pill as I was on the same, but I'm not on them anymore either, TG! I had such a hard time swallowing that dang Potassium pill because it WAS so Huge!

And cutting it in half practically cut my throat because of the sharp edges... almost needed to swallow bandaids afterwards!

And Satan Jr. is a Cancer too, as his birthday is July 18th. Yeah, he could be REALLY Crabby at times too, but mostly he's just a JERK!

Have a Wonderful Day and enjoy eating out!

Gabi! It's so good to see you! And that's Great that you've found a place... that's a worry off your shoulders! I wish you All the Best in your New Place!

And Wow!... You used to be a Bodybuilder! You Rock Girl! Now that calls for a lot of discipline, and hard work... (non of which I have or could give!), so you are quite amazing!!!

Awww, the baby is sooo cute! 4 mos old is such a Great Age too! They coo more, are more aware, and the best of all is they Belly Laugh Now! I just love it when babies belly laugh! Tickles my heart!

Good Luck packing... ugh, such a chore you poor thing! Much, much happiness in your new place!

Biggest Hugs,
Wen

gabi I've read Breaking Dawn already - several times - just starting it again. I didn't like it as much either - the stuff that went on in there was shocking! But it's Twilight, so I have to love it, at the same time.

I didn't know you did bodybuilding! That's very cool. My best friend did that for awhile, she wanted to be strong and be able to lift stuff (she's my age).

That Midlife blogger lady is so funny an too bad Casey Affleck is such a jerk - it's not like he's a Big Star or anything - he's just Ben's less-good-looking little brother. ahem. Simon Baker is gorgeous. And a nice man, too, it seems - what a good combination! He has great hair.

Your friend's baby is adorable!

Wen oh that's the sad thing about dogs, that they are in our lives such a short time. Although I was so mad at my dog this morning, I was looking forward to his deminse... I always look before I leave the house, should some dog or 'enemy' be out front, to avoid him going ballistic and causing a scene, but today I didn't look, and this dog he absolutely HATES the most was right across the street and he almost killed me charging down the porch and barking his head off (on Sunday morning). I was so mad. Bad dog! Bad bad dog. And we shopped yesterday and my knee was bad again so had my cane and the leash, and he'd poo'ed last trip so bag on the porch to take and throw away and.. Yikes! I'm lucky I didn't go flying and break somethimg.

MLette and I shopped for summer clothes and managed to find 2 tops, plus some purple velour pants (for next winter) that were 80% off. But I went to find summer slacks and they had nothing - so I went home and mail ordered a bunch/ordered some online. Hope they fit. I can't believe the summer stuff is on sale already (when it hasn't even warmed up yet) and the catalogs are showing fall/winter stuff already! Crazy! And I paid for the clothes at the store with the gift card from Mr ML Jr so - free. And I still have $18 left on the card.

It did get warm and humid yesterday - and the sun came out - briefly. But the next few days are going to be damp, windy, a cool. Days and days of that. Strange weather. LOL, maybe we're getting London's weather?

We ate lunch at Bertucci's because they had a commercial on TV and the food looked good. It was okay. We took the subway there and got there early so it wasn't crowded and had a nice lunch, and brought home leftovers too for another meal later. Shared a piece of chocolate cake for dessert that disappeared fast under 4 forks.

I was cutting out coupons and saw one for a 'moose track' ice cream cake and Mr ML likes that type of ice cream, so I'm going to see if I can find that for him (it has peanut butter cup pieces in it etc). My kids like that flavor too. (I can't eat peanut butter, but I don't like ice cream cake much anyway).

We played Scrabble last night, although Edward is still taking up 3/4 of the dining room table. LOL, the table is staying very tidy and clutter-free with the puzzle there. Can't bear to disassemble it yet. The only think I don't like is the hair in his ears - eww! (The puzzle is very enlarged picture.) Surprised a boy that young would have ear hair. ahem. (ew).

Going to see Jason's movie today! First show (1 pm). I signed up for the newsletter from that theater chain too so I won't miss anything else good.

Yikes! That's not what you need 1st thing in the morning... a ballistic dog! I hope your knee wasn't too badly hurt!

We don't take Teddi on walks because of his hip dysplasia so he does his business in the back yard, but the neighbors from Hell on the left have this little annoying dog that has the worst attitute, and She Always starts trouble with Teddi at the fence which sets him off barking his head off and She's like the Tazmanian Devil on the other side! Very frustrating to have to go out there and get him to break up the fence fight.

Then the neighbors from Hell on the right, have 5 dogs and you can just imagine what THAT's like at the fence with Teddi... I swear I'm really thinking about putting up a Brick Wall on that side of the yard!

But I've put up barriers so Teddi can't get to the fences anymore, but the Brat, every now and then, gets behind the barriers and all Hell breaks loose at the fences!

Normally he's very sweet and calm, but NOT with those dogs. They make his crazy!

And it's true, we don't have our furry kids in our lives for long, but the love they give us is worth the time we do have with them. Altho', I did have my Vanilla for 17yrs.

I'm glad your shopping trip was successful and Free too!
And yes, they always seem to keep pushing the next Season while in the previous Season! I had worked retail, and never really understood that.

Wow, you really haven't had much of a Summer so far... warm weather speaking anyway.

We finally got a break yesterday from the sweltering heat... it became overcast and only got to about 80*... now THAT Temp I can take! And it's not suppose to go much over 80* today too! Woohoo! Am loving it!

I'm so glad you all had such a lovely lunch! And chocolate cake too! How nice!!!

That 'Moose Track Cake' sound interesting... never heard of it before but I hope you can find and get it for your family and I hope they enjoy it too!

Aww, are you going to take the Edward puzzle apart instead of preserving it? All that work, just to be taken apart and put back into the box?! If it were me, I wouldn't want to do that... I'd want to preserve it! But that's just me.

I hope you enjoy the movie today. I'm anxious to hear all about it!

Well, it's official... I went and caught Lainie's cold.

I started to feel poorly yesterday, but I have such bad allergies that I thought it was just my allergies REALLY acting up, but nope, I just got progressively worse, and then the scratchy throat, coughing, congestion, sneezing, and all of the rest hit me like a ton of bricks last night after a little nap after supper last night. I woke up feeling like I had been hit by a Truck! Felt THAT badly! UGH!

Of all possible times to get a cold,,, just before surgery!!! I had better be better by Tuesday! (Surgery Day!) I do NOT want them cancelling my surgery!

Biggest Hugs,
Wen

Oh Wen that is so bad about your cold. I do hope you're well enough for your surgery. That'd be SOOOOOOO frustrating to put it off.

Gabi - so glad you found a place. I hope the one you will share with will be ok as a flatmate. Did you mean to type 'newphew' because if you did that is SUCH a cute name He's a doll and you look like you had great fun with your mates.

ML - you seem to do great things with your family. I love playing games with people but nobody else in the family does. If mum was still here I'd probably be able to play scrabble with her. She loved word games and always bought us things like Boggle and 'Got-a-Minute' to help us with words. I always hated them then coz of course I couldn't find any words.

I have kept alive an African Violet for around 5 years now !!!!!! You know the secret is getting one of those pots made especially for them. The African Violet is potted in a pot with a small rope hanging out the bottom and then that pot is placed in a pot that you can fill with water but the actual pot and soil don't touch the water. The rope hangs in the water keeping the Violet moist but not wet. Every now and then you fill up the water supply. I even let mine dry out a bit before filling it back up. Put it in the kitchen where the bright lights are but out of direct sunlight and wallah

Wen sorry you have a cold! What a drag! I hope it won't interfere with your procedures.

mezz Realized the African violet was dead as a doornail and pitched it into the trash this weekend. I had it sitting on some pebbles (with the orchid) as I know they like moisture but not to be soggy. Never saw one of those special pots! Maybe that's the secret. I don't think we bought either of these plants (I know I kill violets), I think they were like door prizes at parties we went to.

Well, we saw 'The Last International Playboy' Sunday - not too many people in the theater (6-8?) but it was the first show on Sunday and most people sleep late that day. It was so weird, I always complain about the endless coming attractions and ads etc but at this theater - nothing! Just a blank screen until the movie started. Not even celebrity trivia or ads for the concession stand - nada. Pretty boring. It's a very groovy theater and coincidentally, the ticket taking guy was a friend fo Mr ML's from basketball, so they stood around and chatted. Lot of people were at the movies, but there to see other stuff (Japanese film "Departures" was popular).

Like most of Jason's films, it was kind of a strange movie. Who is this guy and why did they make a film about him and why should we care? It was a very well-made movie, filmed well, great setting etc. The gratuitously topless models in the 'swinging' opening of the film is probably what got it into theaters - ahem - and was just 'window dressing.' It was nice to see Jason again! And remember how beautiful he is, and he remains (the back of his neck!). His character is pretty much a drunken, partying, playboy who it seems comes from money and doesn't have to work and leads a very empty superficial life. The sound track was good and the songs helped to tell the story/punctuate it. Lots of music. The basic plot is this girl he's best friends with/has loved since they were kids together (and who grew up to be his book publisher - he wrote one book), is marrying somebody else and he doesn't want her to/is upset about it. He also has a really obnoxious friend Scotch, who is like the bar/club reviewer on TV or something, a real idiotic jerk. Best character was probably played by the little girl, who is his 11-year-old neighbor who meets him in the elevator of their building and befriends him. She really stole the film and was the best actor (aside from Jason). He also has a friend Ozzy, some ditzy girl who carries a little dog around like Paris Hilton, and is drunk and taking drugs etc. I felt bad for that dog! LOL!

It was a pretty good movie, but I'm surprised it made it to theaters, as it's not that good. Pluses are Jason, Jason running, Jason kissing.. um, Jason starring in it.

Couldn't understand why he liked that girl so much, didn't think she was very attractive, and she drank a lot. Everybody drank an incredible amount in this film, it was drinking, drinking, drinking almost every minute. I don't drink, so it's hard to judge, but seemed like a whoooole lot of drinking to me.

I think I was right and Jason's drinking and swearing talk in interviews was sort of in his character of Jack Frost he played in the movie, because that's what he did.

MLette and I also watched "Benjamin Button" last night, because Mr ML rented it and had really liked it. It's very long, and also well made, but basically - unaffecting. MLette and I didn't care much for it (which is why I didn't want to see it in the first place). Plus, Brad Pitt's character has such a flat affect through the whole film - he goes through all this stuff, but none of it seems to affect him, he shows zero emotion about anything at all. Weird. Somebody compared it to Forrest Gump and I can see that - the periods of history he goes through are lovingly rendered but overall, you don't care. It's hard to identify with a guy who ages/lives backwards, I suppose. Parts of it should have been very sad and moving, but they weren't. MLette and I cried at the cartoon 'Up' but nothing for 'Button.'

But he is a very beautiful man onscreen (when he's not made up to be 90 years old). I had to laugh that they couldn't really make him much younger than he is, except to put on his old haircut he had when he dated Gwynneth Paltrow.

Mr ML Jr and I drove out in the rain and brought back that Moosetrack's ice cream cake from Friendly's, which pleased Mr ML. He loved the 'Mist' DVD the best and sat right down and started watching it. He couldn't have cared less about the Wii Fit, and we realized we don't have enough room in front of our TV to do half the exercises either! Plus who wants a game that tells you you are fat and old? :<

Told me I was fat and my fitness 'age' was 68! Stupid Wii Fit. It is kind of cute though, and I didn't get a chance to try many of the exercise things, we just all logged in and did the balance thing. Mr ML is fit and has great posture/balance already. Why are we not surprised? But ti said Mr ML Jr was fat, and he's so skinny, so we figured we guess wrong on his height and made him taller!

And I was going to break apart the Edward puzzle so we could have the Father's Day party at the dining room table, but MLette looked very pouty and I couldn't do it. So 'Edward' just joined us at the party. MLette joked that we should have set a place for him, but I pointed out that vampires don't eat (food).

We continue to have the Pacific Northwest weather here - rain and enveloping damp misty stuff. Everything is so green and WET. Discovered a hole in my new purple rain boots this morning (so sock was wet too). Mushrooms are coming up in the park, it's been so damp. It's supposed to just keep on being rainy and damp and cool for days and days (and days). Oh well - better than hot and humid!
* * *
Next day... flying by to post this Buffy vs Edward Cullen video (brilliant!) but poor poor Edward...

Jezebel - Buffy Shuts Down Edward Cullen In The Best Clip Ever - Clips

P.S. After all my excitement about Eli Stone coming back to wrap up the series - I totally forgot to watch it last Saturday!

Hi, I made it thru' surgery! Got a right numb bum and leg tho' but they said that it was normal and it would go away during the course of the day. LOL! Just as long as the pain doesn't come back, then I'm fine with that! LOL!

Sorry to be MIA yesterday, but MOTHER cramped my style yesterday... as she INSISTED and had to be here and wouldn't let me be anywhere near the computer! GRRRRR!!!!

The Dr. Rx'd some Valium for before the Procedure to help relax me because he was going to give me the SAME LOUSY STUFF as the Numbing Procedure as for the Burning Procedure! And I had ISSUES with that!!! Hence... the Valium! It just helped a little as I felt uncomfortable in some spots and REALLY UNCOMFORTIBLE IN OTHERS... OUCH!!!

I don't know why he refuses to just knock me out!!! Grrrrr!

Anyway, Glad it's over! On to next week for the other side to be done! Woohoo!

Sounds like Mr. ML had a nice Father's Day! So, you got him the Wii Fit after all! Maybe once he starts using it, he'll like it more.

And you're the second person I heard that didn't like Benjamin Buttons, but I've only heard 2 reports so that 2 for 2 so far! Not a good record so far. (I had no interest in seeing it either.)

Glad you got to see Jason's movie tho'... I think you liked it... kind of.

From what I've read on the LIP Thread, that yes, the little girl stole the show. LOL! (In which kids and animals usually do! LOL!)

And that's so sad that you missed ELI STONE!!! I enjoyed watching it again after it being gone for soooo long! (Thanks again for the heads-up!!!) Perhaps you can catch it on there website?!

I'm not suppose to be sitting long, and am suppose to be resting, so I have to go... Nice orders from the Dr... to rest! I'll take that any day! LOL!

Biggest Hugs to All...
Wen

Poddy! It's sooo good to see you! I've missed you!!! So glad you posted!

Seems you've been Very Busy doing what you do, helping peeps as you do from your heart... you are such a Sweetheart!

Yes, you and they absolutely have my prayers! 13 is a Very difficult age... all those hormones rushing in all at once and they aren't mature enough to handle it! Poor kids don't know what hit them at that age!

We saw a lot of kids at the clinic, starting at age 12/13, that started having problems with major depression, breakdowns and such of which we would refer them to counselors and put them on anti-depressants!

I HOPE they get him into extensive counseling PRONTO! That's vital!!! And if he doesn't have faith in the counselor, then they need to get him into another one... he Needs to be able to Trust and TALK to the counselor to be able to get help!

Ok, that's my 2 cents.

Well, I did lots of resting today, as Dr ordered... I even napped! But I have a feeling that was thanks to the valium, as I took 2 and 1/2 tabs this morn... which made me sleepy, but not sleepy enough for the surgery! Felt everything AGAIN! Grrrr!

Most of it was tolerable, but then there were a couple of times that I wanted to hit the roof, but of course I had to be Very Still... after all I had needles and lasers in my spine and one false move and Wen becomes Paralized! DON'T WANT THAT!!!

Well, my bum and leg aren't numb any longer LOL! Now I'm just a bit sore from the entry sites. I have some bruising too, but with some ice and rest, it's helping a bit.

Got a Big HONKING Bruise where the IV was tho'. That hurt like the Dickens! OUCH! Didn't help that she had to do it 3 times to get it in the right spot! Grrr! I Have Crappy Veins, but when they start digging, that's when I want to flip!!! Grrrr!

Anyway, I was grateful when she FINALLY got the dang thing in! I Hate IV's ... especially in the hand! The site is Still hurting now and it's been out for hours! UGH!

And I have to look forward to this all over again next Tuesday, but it will be All Worth It to be virtually Pain Free in my Back!

Hope Everyone is having a Great Week So Far!

Biggest Hugs,
Wen

Yay Wen, I thought you might be having your procedure yesterday (I am so forgetful about dates when people tell me stuff is going to happen with them).
YEOW that you felt everything. Why the heck didn't they knock you unconscious - at least then you could have had a nice sleep! Poor you, all banged and bruised and sore. But it sounds like it is working. Glad you don't have the numb bum anymore though! You are very brave to do this stuff, and of course your Mother was worried about you and didn't want to let you out of her sight, wanted your total attention. She is so amazingly selfish/self-centered. Old people tend to become more that way as they get older but... just saying.

HUGS Podmom for your neighbor's woes. Scary business with the boy, but at least he cried for help and didn't just do it (shudder). I sang in a chorus and one of the girls had braces on her legs and walked with crutches and had spina bifida and she was getting along in the world just fine. So maybe Karlen will do okay too. Prayers for her and her family and brother.

We are just having the most amazingly, unremittingly, damp and gloomy weather. It's this bizarre rain that is just tiny drops of water swirling in the air - you don't even want to bother putting up an umbrella, because it's so light, and it's just swirling all around you, soaking you. It's been like that for days and days and DAYS here. It was 50 this morning (still). I haven't put away my winter clothes because summer hasn't arrived here yet! Oh well, it might hit 80 this weekend and the sun might actually shine again. Not that I'm a big sun/heat lover. But all this wetness just gets into your bones and it's so, so, so GLOOMY! I feel like a mushroom. In fact, mushrooms are coming up, and the slugs and snails and worms are having a party. Their kind of weather.

We did some more with the Wii Fit yesterday - I was relieved they don't actually expect you to jump on the thing - in fact, tell you NOT to jump on it. With my bad knees, I can't jump anymore at all. I did some yoga, and hula hooping and skiing (!). Poor MLette - she has her father's non-swivelling hips - hula hoop just klunked to the floor.

They had a neat game too that was like that game where you turn the knobs and tilt the board, get balls into a hole - but YOU are the ball, and you have to tilt your body this way and that to tilt the ball and get in the hole. That was fun. OMG, and tight rope walking!! None of us have figured that one out yet. Plus, if walking on a rope from one building to the next isn't bad enough, in the middle of the rope is this set of metal teeth that you have to jump over!
Aside from telling me how fat and old I am, it's a pretty fun thing. And my age went from 68 the first time 48 last night, so I must have done better. Of course Mr ML Jr is good at it, because he's incredible flexible/agile and good at games. I think it might be good for my legs etc, if I manage not to wrench anything, gyrating around like an idiot!

Yes, I think Jason was being in the drunken playboy character of the film for some interviews. This one is a little nicer, and he is more serious (and adorable). Thanks to Sirio who found this one -

LOL! Now all the Ads are about Dogs! Big brother is Watching Again!

Now that all the numbing has worn off, I've noticed that my Dr missed one spot. Hmm, well, it's only one spot... better than two, right?! I can live with it.

It's at the area that was the worst, but it's just a little portion of that area, but other than that, that side is virtually Pain Free!

I'm still wanting to baby that side... kind of waiting for the pain to hit any minute, but it's not coming! I'm sooo not used to this! And I'm LIKING IT!

But of course the other side is killing me, so I have to be very careful anyway, not to move too suddenly or I want to hit the roof, and it hurts all the time anyway, but sudden movements or turning the wrong way just Kills me. I'll be sooo glad when that's all behind me!

Geesh, I won't know how to act to be virtually pain free?! I'm so excited just thinking about it!!!

Now if they'd only take care of my stupid painful ovaries, then I REALLY would be pain free!

I always said, if they'd just chop out my middle, then I'd be fine! Guess they can't do that tho', eh?

Too bad they won't do anything about my diseased ovaries tho'... makes me mad that they won't and are making me keep them.

So, it's Still raining on the East Coast... we on the other hand are having 100* weather! Want to Trade?!

I'm glad to hear that you are having Fun with the Wii Fit game! Sounds like a lot of fun too!

I can't get that video that Sirio found to play on my computer...it keeps saying that I need an up grade, but when I up grade it, it STILL says I need to up grade! Grrr!!! Very frustrating!

Well, MOTHER called me like 10 times today to see how I was feeling and to see if I was resting... Um, how can I rest if I keep having to jump up and get the Stupid Phone?! She's unbelievable!

No.2 son got Chinese Take Out for us tonight! He said it was just too hot to cook, and I wasn't about to cook since I'm still on the mend and Lainie didn't feel like cooking, so No.2 son to the rescue!

It really hit the spot too... we haven't had Chinese in like forever!!!

Speaking of Chinese... I heard the Hoo Mee Chinese Chow Mein Noodle Factory Burned Down in Fall River, MA!!! OMG!!! That's where we (and millions of other peeps) get Our Chow Mein from... I order it on-line!

They say it will be at least 3 mos., possibly more before they can rebuild and be back up and running again!

And I heard that peeps have been pouring into stores to buy up all that they have left on the shelves and they have been having riots and fist-fights over the stuff! Can you even imagine?!!! Greed is an Awful Thing!

I mean come on people... it's Just Chow Mein!!!

It's late and I should try and get some sleep...

Biggest Hugs to All,

Wen

That's funny, Wen I didn't even hear about the fire in the Massachusetts chow mein noodle factory (that sounds like the beginning of a joke) and you know about it in California! Then again, I don't watch the news very often, so if it's not mentioned in the Metro paper (and in big enough type that I notice it - ahem), I don't hear about things.

We did Wii Fit again and of course Mr ML saw how fun it was, and that got him interested. And of course, he's so competitive, if Mr ML Jr did better than he did (he got all the way across the tightrope thing!), then by golly, he'll just do it and do it until he gets better. The little Wii Fit guy is so funny, telling you to brush your teeth and nagging you about your fitness - like a mother-in-a-box! My daughter did this cool jogging thing - you jog along a scenic path (on the floor, not on the Wii fit thing) following this person.

And of course I get an endless kick out of my Mii's I made, all the Twilight characters, my Dad and brother-in-law, the hoyfriend, even the dog (giggle). Just like seeing Rob, I get excited every time Edward's Mii shows up.

Oh that's priceless that your mother kept calling every minute to tell you to rest, so you didn't get any rest!

I wouldn't trade my damp weather for 100 degrees, but I'm sure Mr ML would, gladly. It can't get hot enough for him (lizard man).

Oh gosh, he loved that 'Mist' DVD he got for Father's Day from MLette - he's watching it over and over again! He started telling me about it and it sounds really awful. Some creepy Stephen King thing. Although has a good cast, Marcia Gay Harden and William Sadler etc. I thought it was about zombies, but he said it was something else, but still too scary/gruesome for me to watch.

I thought Mr Boss had forgotten all about hsi evil chapter but he called today and said "You've typed all the references, right?" and I said, no, I did the 20 he gave me (which was 1-10, and 25-33 -he'd lost a page.. ). So I guess he's going to come by and plop that horrendous big mess on my desk any time now. SIGH!

And the editors have accepted a dozen new papers so far this month - that I have to edit - and toss on the teetering pile of papers waiti8ng for me to edit. Oh well.. 'job security'?

Yes, I noticed ads for dog allergies, and paw licking (I actually checked out an herbal remedy site - Chinese herbs for dogs). They do lick their paws from allergies, I don't know why.

Oh gosh, the clothes I mail-ordered showed up and they were hideous! Mr ML and MLette gave them the big thumbs down. I ended up sending back 3 pairs of pants. Kept 2 pants and a shirt and that was all. What was I thinking!?

LOL! That is funny that I have to tell you News in MA, and I'm in CA, and you Live there!

Yes, the peeps in MA have gone CrAzY over the Hoo Mee Chow Mein, and will do ANYTHING to get it! Isn't that rediculous?!!!

I mean it's really good, but come on... it's not GOLD!

I went on-line to FAMOUS FOODS and ordered 6 boxes with no trouble. I have a few boxes already so that should keep us covered until the plant is up and running again. My family all love it, but I wouldn't fist-fight over it!

While I was ordering it, I also ordered some DEL's frozen lemonade mix. Gosh I love that stuff. Reminds me of my childhood when the DEL's trucks would come by... Oh Gosh, that stuff is the BEST!

Well, I think I've gotten maybe an hour's sleep. (sigh) Just can't sleep. This drives me CrAzY! And I'm so tired too! But alas, sleep will not come. Maybe I can try again later... Hopefully MOTHER won't call... she sometimes starts calling between 6:30 - 7:30am. (sigh)

See, I Knew that Mr. ML would show interest once he saw how much fun you all were having with the Wii Fit!

And Kudo's to Mr. ML Jr. for being so good at it!

That jogging thing sounded kind of nice that MLette did!

And that's Great that Mr. ML Really liked the gift 'Mist' that MLette gave him for Father's Day!

Sorry Mr. Boss will be coming by today... I know how he drives you CrAzY! Hopefully he won't stay long.

And [[[Hugs]]] for all the Piles of Editing you have to do all at once.

I still say they need to give you an Assistant... I think they expect too much from you... Both Bosses!

Oh the phone... Guess Who?!

Got to go...

Hugs,
Wen
