I’ll tell you about hot..... Summer in DC in an old row house that doesn’t get good air conditioning upstairs in the baby’s nursery and you have a hot baby on you for hours so your exhausted daughter can get some sleep. Now that is hot and sweaty work!!

Houses here don’t have air conditioning; so when we have a very unexpected hot spell, people struggle!

Ahhh no AC? Yeah I'd have a really hard time with that! We are asked to go to malls or libraries when he gets really hot.

Nope, no AC. Lots of heating instead! British people like to moan about the weather, no matter what. I think we're famous for it!

Oh I think weather complaining is an international thing! I did hear about people dying when it got to 90F and my friend in FL couldn't comprehend that but I said if you're used to cool weather and don't have AC or skimpy summer clothes or lots of fans or whatever, you can get too hot! Your body has to acclimate to various climates.

It was really hot and sticky here, and now it's cool and pouring! I like that better. Although it's still damp/humid, even when it's cool out. The weather really is bizarre everywhere.

If you like heat, Thailand is a good place for you. (I should live somewhere chilly I think; too bad Mr ML likes the heat and hates the cold). Hmmm...

Yes I love the heat!! But I do understand how people get uncomfortable when it’s hot and sticky and have no AC!!

yeah there was a big death toll here in Quebec during our heat wave. But i think people had already poor conditions to begin with and the heat just made it worst.

Where would you like to live ML?

I'd love to live where Hygge exists...can't remember if that's the Netherlands?

Denmark has 'hygge' - I visited there (my journal publisher was in Copenhagen for awhile). A very lovely place and very nice people. But the language would be tricky to learn, I think!

I don't know where I want to live, that's the problem!!!

Hahahaha yes i did mean where it originates from. I know it isn’t a place. I read the Hygge book one day and was like i want that!! I try to live a hygge life here but it just feels too fast paced and hallow.

Yeah I’d have a hard time learning the language. They whole time i was sayin Hi-geeh instead or hue-gah.

'Tak' is the only Danish I learned there (thanks).

I didn't realize people died of the heat in Canada - that's horrible! It's been a crazy summer.
