Commercial director Peter Burger is making his feature debut on the film from a script by Matthew Grainger and Jonathan King. "Tattooist" casts Behr as a tattoo artist who becomes fascinated by the Samoan tatau tradition, but his desire to learn the ancient skill brings him into conflict and danger with the island mysticism and a deadly spirit is released as a result. | Brilliant hunting FL - I haven't had a chance to come for a couple days so it's great to pop back on the JB board and see this wonderful news! Thanks  I think it's very cool he'll be able to incorporate his actual tattoo into this - wonder if he'll come away from this with a few new ones?  Wonder when we'll get a chance to see this one?  Not a lot about it on IMDb yet, except it says it's in pre-production, it's expected in 2007 and the locations are not only New Zealand but also Singapore. | Great find FearlessLeader! And Jason will get a free trip to New Zealand! Don't know if he has fans there (I'm sure he does), but there are plenty of Aussie fans nearby! Oh, gosh, those Maori and Samoan tattoos are all over the face sometimes, so I hope Jason doesn't get any of THOSE!  His Asian tattoos are very tasteful and I hope he STOPS THERE! But... that's just me. I really hate tattoos.It does seem right up his alley though, a tribal culture and mysticism and art (and the infliction of pain and suffering - ahem) - sounds like a very interesting film (plus shows about tattoos are 'hot' right now - lookat Miami Ink and all those other shows about tatto parlors doing so well). I'm glad he's got a new project! The Rock has one covering the entire upper left portion of his arm and chest extending to his back. It's quite large and distracting. And in New Zealand?! How cool!
