I agree, we need to get the project in motion!

Letters, fan arts, pics, videos, anything will do. We also have to figure out who will be responsible for putting the book together

I don't know anything about videos, that is Dreamer's forte, but I can collect all the letters, print them out and make up a book. If some of the artists would like to try their hand at creating a "Jason" border that we could put across the top of the letters (a kind of letterhead), to dress up the letters, that would be great. I could print it out and see how it looks. I have a color printer.

Depending on how many people contribute, it could cost a bit for print cartridges. The art work would have to be printed out in color. However, if everyone typed up and printed out their letters and artwork, and sent it to me (or whoever we decide should do this), that would spread out the printing costs. We could decide on a pre-determined size for the book and everyone would have to print to fit it. Remember that everyone doesn't measure in inches, so we would have to have the metric measurement included in the instructions.

I wouldn't mind sending my snail mail addy to the fans involved. and they could print out their work and I could add it to the book. When it is done, I could create a table of contents so Jason could flip to the sections he wants to re-read.

I can also get those plastic pages that hold pictures. Do we want to limit them to 4 x 6 or perhaps 3 x 5. There are also 5 x 7 or 8 x 10, but they are more expensive to make up. I would have to get different kinds of plastic sleeves if we don't pick a size, but I think they come 25 to a box, so I think it would pay us to decide on one size for the pictures. I like 4 x 6 myself, but I would like to hear from everyone else. That is in inches and is a standard size in the U.S. I don't know what the measurements are in Europe or anywhere else.

If we copy the videos to CDs, I can also get those plastic pages that you put in photo albums and put them with the book so everything is organized.

Someone else would have to determine the rules for submitting CDs. That person would have to review them for content. Not that I want to censor anyone, but we want to make sure they are appropriate and nothing there would embarass Jason. I doubt any fan here would do that, but I don't know everyone involved, so better to say it up front and risk getting flamed, rather than damage control later.

If this post gets any longer, no one will read it. So I will just wait for feedback and continue from there.

How many people are actually planning on getting involved with this?

Are we going to do this or not? Hello, is anyone out there?

If anyone is uncomfortable sending me their stuff, we can appoint someone else or have someone else volunteer. I won't be offended.

If some of you want to contribute, but don't have a color printer, you can send me your stuff and I will print it out. I just didn't want to print hundreds of pages, so I was trying to spread the printing around.

Also, should we perhaps go to the Fanart thread, pick out art we particularly love, and PM the artist and ask him/her if they want to contribute to the book? Or just post on that thread and see who contacts us?

We also need a piece of artwork to put on the letterhead of the letters to make them stand out a bit more. Even a small piece in the upper left hand corner would be nice.

We only have 3 months left. If we all contribute something in the next month, we still have plenty of time to get this put together.

Any ideas anyone?

Also, Honey-Girl, could you add me to the original post as a contributor? Thanks!

I'm game for anything where writing is needed. But the arts and videos isn't my forte. I'm talentless in that department.

I already started to make some stuff for the book. I just don't know which size. I would love to make the book but I think it's better that someone from the US will do this.

Olka posted on 8/21/08 that she would have to withdraw from the project because she was having some problems.

I am leaving for a weeks vacation tomorrow night, but will have internet access where I am going. I will be checking in with the board to see what is happening with the project.

Does anyone have time to post on the Fan Art thread to see if anyone there would be interested in donating something for the book? Even a small piece of art that we can put at the top of the letters to brighten them up a bit would be great.

I have to finish packing and get to bed... work tomorrow... and it is already 11:20 p.m. here or I would do it myself.

I can write something and or draw(depending on what it is), But like Crystal i'm pretty much use less in the video department! I hope things start to come together!

I like the letter idea...i just think it would be better if we all wrote it and sent it..
instead of having you print it all out!! cuz that way like you said the printing
will be spread out!

and I will try and get some Fan work done!! so can contribute to the project!!

soon..so it reaches you on time? right??

Am I going to be the person collecting the submissions? Or is this something one of the moderators would feel more comfortable doing? I don't want to step on anyone's toes.

If I am collecting the submissions, I need to know who is sending them so I can PM them with my snail mail addy.

Letters, fan art, stories, whatever you are comfortable sending would be fine. Someone had mentioned videos, but I don't know anything about them, so I won't be making one. However, if I receive any, I will make sure that the book we are putting together has pockets to put them into so they won't get lost.

Just give your creativity full rein and see what you come up with.

I would like a small piece of artwork posted that we can save to our PCs so we have something we can copy/paste at the top of our letters. I am not good with graphics, but I am good with writing. Would just like something to dress up my letter.

I know that some of you are having a hard time knowing where to start. I don't know if this helped you or not. I am just going to sit down and start writing something and see where it goes. There is no limit on the length, but I am going to make it a length I think Jason would sit down and read at one sitting, If it is too long, he might read it anyway, or he might not if he is busy. So I am trying to put myself in his place when I write it.
