Thanks for the interview, Mir!

Ah, the eco craze. I think it's great for more people to be aware of it and want to protect the environment. Because lord knows we're doing enough damage as it is. But like anything the likes of Hollywood or the entertainment world is involved in, it's also a money-making venture.

Celebs and the planet crack me up because very few walk the walk but talk the talk on what you should do. It's easy to be planet friendly when you are rich and yet they still don't do what they speak. It's the newest 'cool' thing to do in Hollywood Land.

Jason is mentioned a lot in this interview.

Quote:
Charlotte - The Steel Magnolia

With her southern drawl and theatrical body language, there's no missing Private Practice star Kadee Strickland (Dr Charlotte King) when she enters the room. Beaming from ear to ear and sporting a blue hoody and jandals, she's eager to sit down and reveal all about that chocolate frosting scene, her "dream" of a workmate, and her thoughts on a Charlotte-Cooper wedding.

Strickland couldn't stop herself from talking about her relationship with series star Paul Adelstein, who plays her on-screen love Dr Cooper Freedman. It's through working with Adelstein that Strickland says she can slip into the role of intimacy-resistant Charlotte:

"It's so easy to do when you have someone like that to work off of... Paul incites vulnerability within people anyway because he's just a wonderful person."

Speaking of the Charlotte-Cooper on-screen relationship she adds:

"You want these characters around each other because you know they're dynamically different, but they bring something out in one another. I think probably Charlotte would give anything in the world if her heart wasn't so undone. I mean, how wonderful to act that.

"When you really are cared for, that just changes your entire dynamic as a human being, and everything after that has to follow suit.

"But when you fight it, you get good TV drama. It's fun to act. But it's also because I have a dream partner. [Adelstein] is just 'The Man'."

But the support doesn't stop there. Strickland and Adelstein also both enjoy off-screen support from their respective partners which "makes it easy to just show up and do our job."

"Paul and his wife and [me and] my husband have been known to go out to dinner, and we have mutual respect for their artistic integrity as well... [Paul's] wife comes to the set and is like, 'Oh, my God I loved that scene,' or I'll see her and I'll be like, 'You wait until the next script. You're going to be in love.'

"When you have a spouse that does what you do, and you love their work already, when you get to watch them really play it and play it with someone that also cares about the work as much as they do, I mean, not only do you thrive, you get to see them come home happy because they've had a full experience that day."

Speaking about her husband, fellow actor Jason Behr ('The Tattooist' 'Roswell'), she confesses that he loves watching Adelstein and her act together. "He creatively thinks what we do is really special, and that's very validating."

For Strickland, the Charlotte-Cooper relationship can see her wearing some pretty interesting outfits in the name of sex. Her character has been clothed in some eye popping costumes; one memorable scene included bondage gear, in another she was covered only in chocolate cake frosting.

Strickland's father still hasn't seen the cake frosting scene and won't watch it, but husband Behr just cracked up when he saw the script. Naturally a shy person, Strickland confesses she was wearing at least two pairs of undergarments for fear of anything falling out in front of crew she could be working with for the next six years of her life.

"When I got to set we had literally only painted the front of me because I thought... that all I had to do was walk in, [open the coat] and sort of show it to [Cooper] and that was it.'

"The thing with that was, I didn't know that they were going to ask me to drop the coat. So that was a little harrowing because I suddenly had to get my butt painted [with frosting] in a five-minute span of time."

With so much love in the air onscreen, could there be a Charlotte and Cooper wedding on the cards? "I would love to see what that wedding would look like," enthuses Strickland. "I guess we'll have to go to season three and see what happens."

Happy with her onscreen partner and with her marriage outside of Private Practice, it's no wonder Strickland was grinning from ear to ear - bar the cake/underwear incident. Her endearing Southern drawl floats in the air as she gently laughs to herself - it's obvious she's re-playing the cake scene in her mind.

I'm not surprised her father won't watch it. I dont think any dad wants to see his daughter's naked body covered in frosting.

I enjoy Cooper/Charlotte a lot, but I'm still pulling for Violet and Cooper. They're totally where it's at.
