I've read fics with a drunk Max/Liz, but never as the characters they were in Roswell. It's usually an alternate story where Max isn't an alien at all.

To be honest, the stories where he isn't are usually the better written ones. I've read only a few show based fics that I actually enjoy.

? Well, I'll take your word for it

I've only read Michael/Isabel and Michael/Liz fics so far, so I can't really judge Max/Liz fics. To be honest I rarely enjoy fics of couples that are so canon like Max/Liz or Michael/Maria because it feels like it ruins the original story

Unless it's fics with "missing scenes" that fit into canon...

Considering some of the botched stroylines on the show, some fanfic actually make it better. They write it the way it should've been.

Although having them be separated for a while was necessary, I think. I could've happened differently though, they could've kept the future!Max storyline without the Tess part of it

Like...saying that Liz would break the balance between Michael/Isabel/Max or something...

There were sooooo many ways they could've broken up Max/Liz without throwing Tess in the middle of it. Liz walked away from Max because he had a destiny. It didn't mean he had to go through with it. Michael and Isabel didn't. I found it highly unfair that Max felt obligated and was expected to stick with the plan while the others didn't.

But to be fair, Liz sort of made him feel it was the only choice, considering she pretty much walked away from him and was trying her best to stay away. But it would've been 100 times better if Max focused on the Leader part of his destiny, instead of getting the She Devil pregnant

Speaking of which, didn't his mom say they were waiting for them in their planet to be saved from the aliens who were taking over

? What happened with that
