SEVEN new CLIPS from D-War!

And more whining....

Dragon Wars
Not screened for critics, Dragon Wars is a South Korean film (though it stars American actors) about... ah, dragons. Having a war. In Los Angeles. Yes, it sounds awesome! But keep in mind that if it was actually awesome, the studio would probably want to show it to critics, rather than trying to hide their movie like they were ashamed little babies.

Good girl!

Watching those clips, it's quite obvious Shim was a huge fan of LOTR. But the special effects look really good.

From the same people who made the snide report comparing the movie to a Michael Bay movie.... I doubt Craig said "chintzy" - interesting how reporters like to slant the meaning of someone's statements - I'm sure Craig was doing his job promoting the film and being enthusiastic.

Dragons in Dunder-Mifflin! Craig Robinson of ‘The Office’ Reveals how Chintzy the ‘Dragon Wars’ Shoot Really Was

Photo: Getty Images
Curious to learn more about generic action movie Dragon Wars, which opens tomorrow, we went straight to one of the Korean import's stars: Craig Robinson, best known as Daryl in the warehouse in The Office (and the sad nightclub bouncer in this summer's Knocked Up), who plays the wisecracking sidekick in Dragon Wars. (Choice line in the trailer: "You said it was big — you didn't say it was something that could swallow a bus!")

Robinson finally answered the crucial question of what the movie's actual title is ("It’s Dragon Wars in the States, and D-War overseas"), and talks a little about the glamour of working on a low-budget production. Unlike most movies in which actors play against digitally-inserted effects, there was no tennis ball, no stick, and no A.D. wearing a costume to help the Robinson react to the dragons. "Imagination and timing," he said. "On this it was all, ‘Action!’ And then just someone yelling, ‘Monster!’"

Robinson also promised that Dragon Wars will offer more wanton destruction of LA than even Transformers, and speculated as to what would happen if the dragons descended upon The Office's Dunder-Mifflin. "Everyone in the office, except for Michael and Dwight, would get out of there," he said. "Michael and Dwight would probably try to reason with them." -Brent Simon
And this isn't so bad...
From 411mania.com
Quote:
Dragon Wars: D-War: A sci-fi monster film based on the Korean legend of unknown creatures returning and devastating the planet.

When this came out in South Korea, it broke all of its country's previous records. As a blockbuster in a $10.75 movie theater, it looks pretty damn bad. But as a Saturday afternoon $4 to $5 matinee, it looks like fun.
And this from ComingSoon.net
Quote:
As an avid Asian film buff, I probably should know more about Dragon Wars (Freestyle Releasing), the L.A. based Korean monster movie getting a release into 2,000 theatres Friday, but I'm not sure what more I really need to know. There are a bunch of dragons and they're at war, right? With the exception of Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon and Jet Li's movies, Asian films don't have a very good track record, but this has an American cast and it doesn't look like a Korean film, so maybe it will be considered a viable choice to some of the other films. Either way, it's probably opening way too wide, which would result in a very low per-theatre average. The distributor, Freestyle Releasing, doesn't really have experience releasing films this wide and they haven't been backing it up with enough promotion.
