Hope everyone is having a good weekend. I went to an Onsen spa for a friends birthday which was lovely, so relaxing! Onsen is the Japanese name for a hot spring, so it was lots of hot poolm steam rooms, cold pools etc inside....so lovely! They're very popular all over Japan and you usually have to go naked but luckily here they give you little mesh type bottoms and something for top

Ohhh that sounds so nice! Yeah my cousin went to Japan and did that and was really surprised that everyone was naked.

I had a massage scheduled tomorrow but cancelled cause the cases here are going up again so i didnt want to chance it.

I'd rather just cuddle in Sunday and watch the new episode of Greys!

If every country had just locked down for 2 weeks or so way back in April we'd probably be in a much better place now! It's not rocket science. And the longer people refuse to do so, the longer it'll last. And when certain people and political party members laugh and call it a hoax, refuse to do anything and block anyone trying to do so, brainwashing people into believing it's not a big deal, just like the flu etc and refuse to wear maks, well, it's never going to go away

Thailand shut instantly and we don't have covid. It can be done.

True, but look at New Zealand...and most of Aisa. The economy is recovering. Covid going down. But Western leaders are saying it's not real, refusing to mask - it's beyond disgusting.

A good portion of people in this country are idiots, slavishly following our idiot leader, who I am more and more convinced is insane.

Well, he's delusional to think he won the election when he LOST and he's throwing tantrums and firing people and who knows what damage he will do before he's finally out of here in January. He's just an enormous BABY. And yes, people totally deny COVID is real - even when they are in the hospital dying from it - nope, couldn't be, the Dear Leader said it was a hoax or no worse than the flu etc.

And I'm sure when the vaccines become available (90% effective!, 95% effective!), the idiot anti-vaxxers will say "Not me, not my family, oh no we aren't taking that vaccine." It just makes me so And sad, and frustrated. When did the US get so totally STUPID? People are dying and dying and hospitals overrun and more and more getting sick but.. nope, not our fault, no problem here, we're not going to inconvenience ourself with a mask.. SIGH

That hot spring/spa bath place sounds lovely (esp if you don't have to be naked). Oh yeh Japanese think nothing of getting into a big tub naked with a bunch of strangers!

I'm lucky my daughter and her boyfriend are in our 'bubble' and they are the people we usually have for Thanksgiving (and over for Hanukah) so we can carry on our holidays pretty much the same (no family Christmas with hubby's family, but we are zooming with them weekly, so seeing more of them than we ever did). I feel bad about my sister-in-law across the street but she is NOT in our 'bubble' and I'm not anxious to welcome her back into it either... Having her not come over our house every single evening for tea and dessert etc is the only pandemic silver lining. I'm a bad person, I know, but it's the truth. My husband still drives her to errands and appointments and puts out her trash etc but..

Sorry but this needs to stop. Someone needs to step in and stop this madness. If this had been an African country (or sh**hole as Trump so eloquently said) international law would have stepped in by now. He’s a dictator. Convid is at its highest peak. The US has had the worst response to the pandemic in the world, so much so that aid agencies are now putting the US at the top of their lists. And Trump and his Republican enablers are completely ignoring it. No stimulus package. Still refusing to wear masks. Trump hasn’t been to a task force meeting in 5 months. He’s playing golf, firing people who dare to disagree with him and tweeting ridiculous conspiracy theories. Refusing to give Biden essential information to help with the transition, thereby delaying vaccine distribution by months. Destroying democracy. The only fraud is the voter suppression Republicans have been doing for years. It doesn't even make sense - Republicans won down the ballot but somehow those are legit?? If Democrats wanted to commit fraud first thing would be getting rid of Mitch McConnell who is pure evil and just obstructs everything anyways. And funny it's only in states Trump lost. No logic and it's terrifying people believe it.

The world is watching with disgust and disbelief.

Well we're on lock down here again. Just announced it this afternoon. Our cases have just been going up because people are just so selfish.

I can attest cause one of my good friends is that type of person. Just goes around and parties with people outside her bubble because the restrictions were lifted and she says she doesnt have symptoms...and when you call her out for it she gets all defensive. So yeah, she's a bit stupid, so i can imagine more people like her, which is sad, cause she is a good person otherwise!

Oh ML totally understand with the sis in law. And glad to hear your get together wont be affected too much this holiday!

I'm sorry Aubie....it's so frustrating when people just don't care. It's not just about you, it's about protectig others. What kind of a world do we live in when people so blatantly disregard the health of others? We are in this together

I feel bad when i'm talking to my friends back home. They are on strict lock down too (but our schools are still open) whereas I have never really experienced that....my life is normal, apart from being unable to leave right now! (well I can leave but it's not easy to get back in).

where I live in PA and NJ everyone is wearing masks and being careful...now I don't hang with the young folks so I don't know about them

It's crazy how selfish people are and think just because they don't show symptoms they are ok to go around. Of course my friend hasn't gotten it. It's so bad of me to hope she gets it just because it's so not fair to us who are following the rules and there she is just posting all things she's doing with friends...who are as stupid as her.
