Ohh - have successfully stayed away from Halloween candy this year except I did make my own homemade Reese's cups last week. Dark chocolate and almond butter with a little sea salt on top. Not too bad.

Butterfinger and Peppermint Patties are my weakness though ... I have a hard time if I see them in the candy dish at work.

It never fails that I'll make it through Whole Foods unscathed and avoid all the goodies and then I see Justin's dark chocolate peanut butter cups at checkout and grab one...or two. They're my absolute weakness.

I'm an Almond Joy and Reese's Peanut Butter cup kind of girl. Same thing, if they're sitting out and I'm not really watching what I'm eating I'll grab one.

I bought one round... it was buy two bags get a bag free. They were small bags. We got dark resse’s, kisses, and mixed Hershey bars. The kids ate them all. I knew they wouldn’t last for Halloween.

I love almond joy and Reese’s too. The kids will happily give me the almond joys.

The rug arrived and was propped against the garage. Luckily I got to it before it rained this afternoon...though it was pretty well wrapped. I can never tell whether I love something right away or I just need time to get used to the change. I like it, it's just do different than what I had it's a little startling.

I bought the big bags at Target that were like 16 dollars and it was buy one get the second half off. It probably wasn't worth it buying it this early because I'll get into them and then have to go and buy another small bag to supplement what I've eaten.

Obviously, we’ll need a pic of said rug.

Our we’re closer to 6 bucks for all three bags. Gotta love HEB!

I went big bag so I wouldn't have to buy any more, but it's so hard to know how many kids I'll have. Some years I worry I'll run out, others if it's rainy or cold I might get like 20 kids.

The colors are a little more muted than in the picture. I just had a tan kind of dull patterned rug under the dining room table before. I need to pull some of the more bold colors and get a picture with some orange in it, a throw pillow with some pink, new curtains, etc.

I like the rug! You can do a lot with that.

We usually go out and trick or treat on Halloween with friends, so I’ve not purchased candy for the neighborhood kiddos in a long time. I’m not sure what we’re doing this year...

Amanda: I love the rug - it looks fantastic.

Kayla: It's hard to know what to do when you move to a new neighborhood. The last time I moved, I went from a neighborhood that had absolutely no trick or treaters to one where we were literally swamped. LA is kinda like that though - some neighborhoods are just safer than others even though they might only be 10 minutes away from each other. Hopefully it will be an easy transition for you.

I was skimming the channels tonight looking for something to watch and came across one of the Halloween movies starring Josh Hartnett. Whatever happened to him?? He kinda disappeared from everything.

I also noticed that they are already starting to air those cheesy Christmas movies on the Hallmark channel. I'm not really a fan but I have a good friend who watches them all the time - she loves them. A bit too corny for me.

Kiki, Joker is fantastic. I guess it is 'creepy' but I found it more sad. It has a lot to say about mental health. I really felt for him.

I watched the Netflix series with Paul Rudd, Living with Myself. We loved it. It was a good story and I always liked Rudd. Plus his wife is an Irish comedian so it was good to see her on it.

We took the girls to see Maleficent on Saturday too. I thought it was really good!

Also. . . It's good to hang out somewhere (and by that, I mean this forum) where every other word isn't BREXIT! I'm so over it!

Josh Hartnett was in Penny Dreadful! I think he's doing another TV series now. I actually kind of feel like he and Taylor are on the same playing field. When I see people on social media reference Taylor and 2012 or ask what's happened to him I have to remember that he's not some big movie name and he's really done more TV than high profile movies lately and people might just not have seen those projects. So I'm sure a lot of people ask that same question about Taylor just like they do with Josh even though he is a working actor...

I saw that new Paul Rudd series pop up on Netflix and I love him so of course I'll give it a shot.

I feel you on the Brexit thing but just replace that with Trump and we're right there with you here in the states.

I actually bought my Aunt a shirt that said something like, "this is my Hallmark Christmas Movie watching shirt"...I can't stand those movies, though Aimee Teegarden was in one last winter. I have to be in a very specific type of mood to watch Lifetime movies and Hallmark I feel is a step down from there. They're so bad. But I will say the most satisfying Lifetime movie network moment I've had was seeing Stacie (Mindy Riggins) act circles around everyone around her when she played the lead. I don't even remember what the movie was about, she was just so much better than everyone else.

I was going to say I thought Josh took a step back from acting, but he seems to be doing projects. I haven’t heard of anything he’s done recently. He was in great blockbuster stuff early on. I’d be interested to know how he got to the work he’s doing now.

I love Paul Rudd. I will have to watch.

Did I say this already? The tornado that hit Dallas wove a 17 mile path. It came within 1/4 mile of hitting the apartments we just moved from! I’ve been watching friends post pics, the damage is horrific. Two schools in DISD are totally gone. They are having to relocate those kids. One was a high school. Can you imagine this your senior year? So sad!

My mom loves them sincerely. We should get her that shirt. OM and I love them bc they are so bad and we make fun of everything we are watching. They have a app so you can check them off and not miss any of them. That’s crazy to me. I don’t even know if we get the hallmark channel shows through Hulu. We did watch the one with Kurt Russell, on Netflix, last year. It was pretty good.
We definitely watch all the Christmas classic movies. I have a friend who had never seen Christmas Vacation before. Ever. In her entire life. She hated it and couldn’t even get through the entire thing. She turned it off. I don’t know how that’s possible! It’s a crime against humanity.

Disasters feel unimaginable to me - the devastation and tragedy would be overwhelming. There was another fire in Pacific Palisades this week (very near to where the fires were last year in LA). Thankfully they got it under control pretty quickly but the weather here has been really weird. Today its 88 degrees at the beach - which is unheard of this time of year.

They have an actual app for Hallmark movies? That is hilarious!!!! I do like to watch Christmas movies but usually only the classic ones (Christmas Vacation is an all time favorite for me). Maybe we should do a rewatch this season in the Rally Girls thread (haha).

I will watch Elf whenever it's on and Christmas Vacation I can probably quote the entire thing...there is a reason my dog is named Griswold.

I saw that tornado, that's crazy, it really damaged a few of the Dallas Stars' homes. I saw that the local news station had to apologize because they didn't break into programing because the Cowboys were on. Talk about irresponsible.

That was The NBC affiliate. That’s pretty bad! I can’t believe they didn’t break in. That’s just wrong.
