We had to put our dog George down this morning. So hard, but it was for the best. He took a turn over the weekend where he was having trouble walking and couldn't seem to be able to see clearly. The vet thought he had a brain tumor. So we had to do what was best for him, didn't want him to get any worse and suffer.

He was a rescue so we can't know for sure how old he was, we'd had him for 9 years and they estimated he was 1 or 2 when we adopted him. He was close to 70 pounds so he lived a long life for a big dog.

Leo is about 12 years old. My grandfather got him for me for my 18th birthday.

I feel better today, but it's still strange to come home and not see him around. It really changes my routine when I'm at home.
I'm sure we'll get another rescue dog, maybe after the summer and when we're not traveling as much, but it's hard to not want to get one right now. |

Sorry Amanda. I have lost a few cats in my life. The most painful one was my cat Snizzle, she was less than 5 years old and got sicker and sicker and we took her to a vet and she died the next day. We're here for you. Donna __________________
