I just looked back through the news threads and the first time Taylor was rumored to be attached to True Detective was back in May of this year...he wasn't kidding when he said he'd been turning down other things to make sure he got this project. I'm glad he got it, he clearly really wanted it, I think it's going to great things for his career.

E! News talked to Michelle Monaghan who played one of the Detective's wives in Season 1, she said they should be starting production in three weeks

Tyler A.: OK, what's the deal with the rest of the cast for True Detective season two?!

Funny you should ask because we found ourselves asking that very same question and decided to get some answers. "I saw those guys a few nights ago. I'm really excited. I saw the creator, Nic Pizzolatto, two nights ago and they're hard at work," Michelle Monaghan, one of the first season's stars, spilled to us. "They're getting ready to start production in three weeks. They've very excited." So…expect the final casting news in the next three weeks...at least official casting news, as Taylor Kitsch spilled the beans that he's in for season two. Oops!

Yeah, I think his relationship with HBO through working on The Normal Heart really helped him get this role. But man has he been waiting around for a long time.

Now the important question, are they going to make him cut his hair because it is perfect right now.

So still no twitter account right? This person continues to act and claim that he is Taylor, today Andrew Stanton and Lynn Collins basically confirmed it was Taylor, but I still don't believe it. He's not verified, nobody from FNL follows him, his own brother doesn't follow him, nobody who is close with him in real life follows him. It's frustrating to see someone play the fans.

And never mind, someone asked Derek Phillips on twitter if it was actually Taylor and he said it's not. How gross someone impersonating him like that, doesn't help that the John Carter cast is urging whoever this person is on.

That isn't good that someone does that.

I am so very happy about the news.

New little bit from US Weekly.

Quote:
Taylor Kitsch Kept Tim Riggins' Football Jerseys From Friday Night Lights, Reveals Panther Buddies He Keeps In Touch With

Tim Riggins, how we miss thee and those luscious dirty blonde locks! Friday Night Lights premiered eight years ago this month, and because we were feeling sentimental, Us Weekly sidelined with Taylor Kitsch at the GQ x Lacoste Sport Pop Up event in NYC on Thursday, Oct. 23, to discuss the fan-favorite sports drama (a.k.a. the best show of all time!).

Reunion buzz often follows the NBC cast, but Kitsch, 33, continues to stick with the notion that a film would just ruin how Coach Taylor and the team said goodbye. "It really does feel like forever ago," he told Us, noting that he doesn't watch the series on Netflix.
Dry those tears though, Panthers! For "Texas Forever!" continues to ring true for Kitsch. After all, the actor moved to Austin, TX, after filming wrapped. "They're so gracious there," he told Us of fans down south. "Super fans."

How so? FNL die-hard fans also "sometimes" recite those six magical words to Kitsch when they see him in town…
"Clear eyes, full hearts, can't lose."
Kitsch revisited his Dillon, Texas days in more detail, revealed which cast members he's stayed close to since retiring his No. 33 jersey, and the Panther moments that have stuck with him since walking off the football field for the last time. Check out what he told Us:

Us Weekly: Do you have a favorite FNL memory?
Taylor Kitsch: That's impossible to answer. Oh my God. The last scene was pretty incredible for everybody. We had the whole crew and people who had been there the last five years. That was a very heavy one. And there's so many good memories. Really. We were incredibly spoiled on that show. Riggins' last game was tough. That was a big day. Those are the good memories I have.

US: Did you keep any Riggins memorabilia?
TK: Oh yeah! I have all my jerseys. I have a piece of his locker that was gifted to me. What else do I have?

US: Do you ever whip out the jersey for old times' sake?
TK: No, that'd be a bit creepy! They're literally just hanging in my closet. I actually gave one of them to my best friend.

US: Connie Britton told Us you keep in touch. Who else are you close to from the Panthers?
TK: Very much! Derek Phillips is still one of my close friends. He played my brother. Kyle [Chandler], of course. We're still really close. [Jesse] Plemons, [Scott] Porter. A lot of those guys. I haven't seen Porter since his wedding, but Derek and I ride motorcycles all the time together, so I see Derek a lot. I hang out with Peter Berg. He's one of my best friends and we have done three movies together since.

Here is the new commercial that Taylor is featured in for the video game call of duty, Peter Berg directed it.

Quote:
Taylor Kitsch blasts through a futuristic war zone in 'Call of Duty' trailer

Another Call of Duty, another live-action trailer to accompany its debut. Every year, publisher Activision puts together a star-studded trailer to promote one of its biggest franchises, and this year, they’ve enlisted a Dillon Panther to help.

In anticipation of Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare, Taylor Kitsch stars in a new trailer that shows off the franchise’s step into near-future warfare. Set in a first-person view, the viewer-as-soldier fights alongside Kitsch as he maunevers through a war zone in Lagos in 2059. Along the way, he runs into a mirage played by Gone Girl‘s Emily Ratajkowski, and on more than one occasion is almost blown up by some futuristic weaponry.

The trailer is also a mini-Friday Night Lights reunion of sorts, as Peter Berg, who developed the television series, directed the trailer.

Activision has made a habit of these trailers over the years–the promotional campaign behind Call of Duty: Ghosts last year included Megan Fox and—more importantly for fans of Community‘s Fat Neil—Charley Koontz cameos. The releases of other Call of Duty games have brought Robert Downey Jr. and Jonah Hill into the trailers as well.

The trailer is certainly more tonally aligned with the game’s multiplayer component, as the series has traditionally stuck with more serious-minded war stories than any of these trailers would indicate. Players are unlikely to encounter an Emily Ratajkowski-as-goat mirage as they fight against Kevin Spacey in Advanced Warfare when it releases on Nov. 4.

If you do, it seems the franchise has taken a very strange turn.

He isn't actually in the game, but that would be cool if he was, he's just in one of the trailers. Kevin Spacey and Jonah Hill are in a few of the other commercials.

OMG Taylor did an OUTSTANDING job in that commercial! I am in love with it! I wish he was in the game, I would totally play it. I wouldn't mind getting yelled at from him. I hope this commerical airs on my TV!

of course! http://www.fanforum.com/f309/paul-wo.../#post78686083

It makes me upset that people would pretend they are him.. I hate that people believe that's Taylor when he said he would never get a social account.

Thanks so much for the article, i love that he gets along with all of his cast members and are their friends!
