Dream Roles/Actors/Actresses for Taylor #5:Because a Girl Can Dream!
New thread!
My husband is a fan of Escape from New York. I'll have to ask him how he feels about a remake. Have all the stories really already been told that Hollywood has to recycle things they've already done?!? __________________

TFTNT! Yeah, maybe I'll have to watch the original to see what I think but the plot sounds like something would be good for him.

I know I asked this before, but I don't remember the answer. Was Taylor ever in the 50 Shades of Grey mix? I remember not knowing a couple of the actors that were being mentioned and now I wonder if one of them was him.
Speaking of... I'm making my way through my long list of shows to catch up on. I do 3 episodes at a time. Anyhow, I'm watching Once Upon a Time and Jamie Dornan is in it. I don't like him as Grey, but he's actually quite adorable in the show. __________________

I like Jamie Dornan from The Fall, which I shouldn't really, but he's great in it. I've never seen 50 Shades but after reading a chapter of the first book and the terrible writing there was no way I was going to watch an adaptation of it, even if it was for Jamie.
There were names being thrown around for 50 Shades when they were doing promotion for Battleship. Taylor and Alexander were both asked about it in an interview and Taylor just said he didn't think he'd do it but he was getting asked about it a lot, that Brooklyn was currently reading it and that he thought Alex would be great for it. So he kind of sidestepped the question. |

Terrible writing...that's being quite generous.

I mean, I made it through maybe three chapters. I couldn't understand why it was being hailed as this "hot" book, the sex wasn't even hot and the writing was terrible. Oh well, I know he outright said no to a movie like Magic Mike before so it wouldn't surprise me that even if it was offered to him he wouldn't go for it. Doesn't seem like the type of movie he'd want to be attached too.
I am, admittedly, kind of jealous that Game Night now includes Rachel, Kyle and Jesse. Connie and Taylor should sign on as the last couple and we can have our mini FNL reunion. And it's a comedy...I want him in a comedy so bad. |

My thoughts as I read the first chapters were as follows...
Here lies the death of literature as we know it. Apparently, no one uses editors anymore. I'm buying the author a thesaurus for Christmas. Quote:

I had so many people tell me it was so hot and I started it and just couldn't get through it. The writing was like pulling teeth. I knew it was originally Twilight fan fiction so I thought maybe that was clouding my judgment, but frankly I've read better fan fiction then that and it was freaking published. What was it she always said, her inner "goddess". Insert my eyes rolling here.
Regardless of what went down with Rachel/Taylor, Hollywood is so small, he didn't have trouble working with Minka after, or at least didn't outwardly have trouble. I'm sure it would be fine. Now I want to see Connie/Taylor as a couple (which maybe also happened in real life). |

I had no idea it was fan fiction. When I found out, that made me feel better, but it brought so many more questions...I knew nothing about them at all. My mil brought them to me and said she liked them and thought I would too. I went in blind.

I'm totally believing him and Connie until one of them confirms a different story. __________________

It was an actual twilight fiction, it was posted and all. Eventually it was pulled from the internet when she signed a publishing deal.
I say I want him in a comedy, but I want him in a romantic comedy or dramady at least. I will forever want him in a movie that kind of channels the mood of Bridesmaids. Really dry humor. |

Just to go back to Escape From New York .... While I'm generally not a fan of remakes, Robert Rodriguez has a unique enough vision that I think even if he doesn't hit it out of the park, it'll be interesting and the movie will be its own entity and not just a rehash.
And if my movie memory serves, Kurt Russell was considered just a lightweight Disney actor before John Carpenter cast him as Snake Plissken. Audiences and critics loved him, and it ended up redefining his career as a serious actor. The movie also has dry humor, which Taylor would nail, along with the look and the physical demands of the part. I'd fly to Austin to meet with RR and pitch Taylor myself if I could! OK I'm done. I got to about page 10 or 15 of the first Shades book and it was so terribly written, I stopped there and never went back. I never even got to the sex part, clearly. But I didn't find the movie sexy at all. Jamie is sexier as a serial killer on The Fall. |

I wish I could speak more on Escape From New York, but having not seen it...other than looking at a picture of Kurt Russell I could see Taylor being a fit.
Pete/Mark Wahlberg are working on a movie trilogy now...not sure if I want Taylor involved in that or not. |
