That would be awesome if she has pics from set!

I love Rihanna, but I miss her music.

Battleship has been on a lot lately.

A new variety article previews 2020 movie releases. Did we know Alexander is in this too?

Quote:
“Godzilla vs. Kong” (Warner Bros.)

Release Date:
Nov. 20

What Looks Strong:
Well, literally speaking, the colossal iconic movie monsters of the title, will battle in the fourth film in Warner Bros. and Legendary’s MonsterVerse. Alexander Skarsgard and Rebecca Hall join series veterans Millie Bobby Brown, Kyle Chandler and Zhang Ziyi, with horror director Adam Wingard (“Death Note,” “Blair Witch”) taking the reins.

Causes for Concern:
“Godzilla: King of the Monsters” opened just last year and significantly underperformed in comparison to its predecessors, suggesting audiences are already cooling on the MonsterVerse. Warner Bros. pushed the release date from March, but this is the wrong trajectory for a franchise heading into its big crossover movie.

Verdict:
A killer trailer could revive “Godzilla vs. Kong’s” prospects.

Lornette, I think you brought the Alex info over when it was originally announced a long long while ago...or someone did. It sounds familiar.

I don't really follow Alex at all so it wouldn't have flashed on my radar.

I will say I actually saw the last Kong movie (the one that came out last year) and I actually fell asleep during it - even though Kyle was in it.

I’m not a King Kong fan. I don’t get it.

I've never seen a King Kong movie. Maybe I saw a Godzilla movie, whichever one had Aaron Taylor-Johnson and Elizabeth Olsen in it.

I only ever saw the one - did NOT encourage me to want to see another.

I've seen probably most if not all the King Kong movies, which is weird because I'm not a big fan of giant-creature movies. The Peter Jackson version with Kyle in it was great but the ending was heartbreaking to me so I kind of avoid it. I think the most recent one with Tom Hiddleston, which set up this Kong vs. Godzilla movie, was better than a lot of people were expecting. The Kong effects were great and he was genuinely scary-looking like a wild giant beast would be.

And you're right, Amanda, I might've been the one to mention this originally and just forgot. lol I'm probably the only one who'd even pay attention to this movie. I'm sure I'll see it when it comes out.

I don't mind the big monster kind of movies if they're well executed and do what they're supposed to do, don't take themselves too seriously, etc.

I didn't know that the one Kyle was in was done by Peter Jackson, that makes it more appealing to me.

Yes, Kyle plays a matinee idol who travels to the island with them. It's set in the 1930s and he looks gorgeous. I think we're supposed to find his character obnoxious, but I thought he was funny and acted exactly as one would if stuck on an island with giant creatures. Naomi Watts and Adrien Brody are also in it (and Jack Black). Beware, though: There's a segment with giant bugs that may creep you out if you're squeamish about insects. I just remember that segment was well-done but it went on far too long even for me.
