I know I'm very lucky because I have friends in those sort of situations, with one or both parents.

I do wonder sometimes why some people bother to have children if they aren't prepared to be a loving and responsible parent.

I've wondered the same thing to about my father. He's been married four times, he had six kids and didn't raise any of them, he'd leave them every time he divorced a wife, guess he figured the mothers would do all the work and he didn't have to bother. He's obviously a strange man who's incapable of loving anybody. Suppose there are a lot of men like that.

The only reason he's settled down now with his latest wife is because he's almost 80 and they never had children together. He pretended to be dead until all of his kids were over 18 so he could avoid paying child support. He's a total scumbag and should have gone to jail.

No. I'm not in contact with any of my half-siblings. I've never met them, I emailed with his youngest daughter a few times, but she didn't seem interested, so I stopped bothering.

I wish, unfortunately she's a brainwashed Mormon who kisses his ass and believes the husband is superior. She just laughs at everything he says, even when he insults people and said she never asked him about his children. She doesn't care. She's another piece of work!

Sometimes it's a blessing in disguise not having some people in your life. Of course you missed having a father, but if your dad was such a jerk, you're better off without him.
