They had a pregnancy scare, which resulted in them realising they both want different things. It made sense, far more sense than Hanna and Caleb's break up. My problem now is that they implied that Spencer didn't want kids, and you just know she's going to go back on that and want them soon enough.

Yep, and although sure, it is possible for women to change their minds about what they want, it will be kind of problematic for that to be the direction they go considering there's no other character on the show that has even shown the slightest preference of not having them.
