I disagree, as I noted in my earlier comment.

Sonically, Folklore evokes her quieter pure Pop sensibilities from 1898-Lover (think I Know Places, New Years Day, and Lover, amongst others) mixed with the Country-Pop sound of her Fearless-era cover of Untouchable and pretty much all of her Red album, and honestly gives a glimpse into how she can modernize the sound of her older albums whilst not having to 'reinvent the wheel'.

I don't buy this.

She controls her own music, but there's no way, just from a business perspective, that she sprung either the album's existence or release on her label.

And she is her own label practically A subdivision of Republic Records. I think people from her team knew but necessarily the parent label.
