Yes, she and Megan do have issues but in the book she is basically nice and well meaning. She's also a gorgeous and well known broadway actress and Megan feels completely in her shadow.

I didn't read it before the show, only since. But from that I'd say that it was done pretty well, just made more cheerful/fun.

Have any more people read it yet?

I just bought the book the other day and read the whole thing. While I did enjoy the book, I do love the show a lot more. I'm really glad they decided to change Megan's family background for the show.

I have to agree with this.

Honestly I think for the most part the changes that they made in translating the book into a tv show were for the better because it made it more appealing for viewers.

Although I am kind of sad that the show hasn't had the character of Marco's boyfriend in it at all because I thought that was a nice addition.
And I kind of miss Megan borrowing clothes from Marco

She had a good relationship with her parents (who were still married and didn't live in Palm Beach) and she was a little jealous of Lilly who's very successful on the books

I've been reading this the last few nights... massive f-bombing that I didn't expect. and yeah, TOTALLY different from the show. I can see how they got Charlie from Charma, but otherwise... meh. I like show-version-boyfriendless Megan. Lily's up in the air. Obviously nicer in the book, but more human on tv...
