I think that TPTB for this movie didn't have their act together and I think that the media would somehow tie in the bad headlines from the last movie and Kristen deserves to move past that and she has.

I so agree. Kristen did NOT need this movie. Too much
bad water under that bridge that the press would NOT
let go of. She's happy doing the movies she's doing and
doing GREAT in her career! AS far as I'm concerned, this
would have been a step backward.

TPTB tried to use Kristen's good reviews in COSM to try to get Kristen involved but I think that she was never going to be involved in another Snow White movie after the media would not let the bad press go and Universal made themselves awkward because I don't even think that Chris and Charlize knew anything about the movie before it was awkwardly announced.
