I know. He missed out on a lot since she lived with her mother but I always felt like she should have been raised by Charlie. I love Renee but Charlie was just so great at being a dad and he didn't get to embrace it as much as he could have.

Rene was definitely more her contemporary than her mother. Charlie was definitely the parent. I am just happy that they were able to develop that bond. You could see it when she was leaving for her honeymoon the great attachment she has to her father. It was such a beautiful moment....she didn't want to let him go. And I know a lot of that had to do with the fact that in a short period of time she was going to join Edward forever as a vampire. But it was also because they had grown so close. He lived through what Edward's leaving did to her and she had him to lean on.

I think so too. Charlie was more the parent in the situation. She seemed to worry more about leaving Charlie than Renee. I think it was because moving in with him got her close to him and finding out how alike they are. I love how they said I love you as she left. And in the book, he's crying about her leaving. You can tell their connection.
