Thank you for starting the thread Tanya!

Tom: He just annoyed me in this episode, blaming his own sister for the death of their father, blaming Adrian, I just wanted Cathleen to smack him

Adrian and Grace: I knew this scene was coming, knowing how much they've cared for each other. And then I loved when Adrian looked up and said "I can't believe you did this to this family." It was just perfect and sweet.

Amy and Ben: What was with Amy getting so angry for him starring at her boobs? You hardly kiss Ben, you hardly give him any respect, you don't give him anything really and your mad that your own boyfriend is looking at you that way? And I think she should have let Ben watch the baby, like Anne had mentioned, they'll be 5 minutes away and it's only for a couple of hours, and it does not take much to learn how to change a diaper. But I let this slide because she's a new mom and it's only fair for her to be overprotective.

Adrian and Amy: I wanted to strangle Adrian in this part! She was so rude, of course nobody wants visitors when they have a family member die but you shouldn't leave them alone, you go over there, give your condolences and let them know they aren't alone. I understand this was a way of Adrian protecting her best friend but it came off really rude, and I know that Amy ends up thinking she's a know-it-all because she's got a baby but she hasn't even starting acting like that yet.

Cathleen and George: Very sweet scene, I actually began to ship them I loved them so much
I loved the "Marshall Bowman was the best man I've ever known" that was too funny!

Grace thinking she killed her father: I really think this was an upsetting scene, but what she said I really think it made sense to her. She didn't listen to dad, so God took him away. I really thought it was sad.

Bunny: That was kinda silly that she didn't even know Marshall Bowman died, Ricky already asked to go to the funeral so that obviously means he knew them better then her

Ricky and Ben: I think Ricky deserved to go to the funeral more then Ben just for the obvious reasons, and his advice toward Ben wasn't the best, I do think Ben needs to take initiative like Ricky suggests or he'll keep letting Amy run him over. And Ricky deserves a say in who babysits John, Amy is nuts for thinking she's the boss, Ricky is too!

Amy: Drama drama drama. There she goes suggesting Ricky doesn't have a say. I'm glad that Ben was able to offer to have his dad come in even though in my opinion wasn't necessary.

Ben: Now he hesitated at first when John cried, but he did a great job! He changed the diaper, got in the face yes but he did really good.

Anne/Cathleen/George: Oh man that was so funny when Cathleen laughed out of nowhere. And it was so funny that Anne brought a party platter, I would have loved a thousand pieces of cheese! It's obvious that Anne shouldn't think about marrying David, there is unfinished business between her and George if she's showing jealousy about Cathleen.

Grace and Amy: I loved that Amy was able to defend John, definitely not a punishment, a blessing if anything.

Amy and Ben yet again: She storms in and says "You left the baby all alone with your dad and that Betty woman?" So after all the nice things that Leo has done and said about her, she doesn't trust her baby with him while Ben gets diapers? Jeez. I could understand if he left John alone with Betty but Leo was there! You really think Leo is going to let something happen? The hooker comment made me wanna strangle Ben!
And Amy says to Ben "And when you do have something to do like babysit, you bail and come hang out with Ashley" uhhh, he wasn't! He was asking about diapers and then she storms right in. This is when I started getting angry at Amy, I could see problems for these two coming after this fight.

Ricky: I loved how he said he got Anne pregnant!

Jack and Grace: Looking back on this scene I wish she would have left him alone like she said she wanted to

Oooh yay, another thread! Thanks, Tanya

Here's my opinions on the episode.

Grace: Poor, poor girl. I felt so much pity for her in this episode. Between the tears and conversations with her mom & Rev. Stone & Adrian & Amy, geez, it really hit me hard. I thought it was wrong for Tom to put all of the guilt on her like he did, he's never been a favorite of mine, I like him, but I liked him less after this.

Ricky: What did Ricky do in this ep again? LOL. Okay, I thought him talking to Amy like that was annoying. Even though I don't like them together, he always questions her, but she's not allowed to ask him for a simple favor? Gee.. His makeout with Adrian in the back of the car was pretty cute, and when he said, "Aw, come here, don't be jealous." Awe. I also liked when he said the baby was his! (Anne's baby)

Adrian: When she looked up and said, "How could you do this to this family?" I wanted to cry. I felt that her & Grace's friendship was real at that moment, I love to see TV friends like Adrian & Grace..

Amy: Didn't like the attitude with her mom about going to Grace's house, but I thought the over-protection of John was REALLY good of her, at least she's not careless.

This episode definitely was not one of my faves of the season..

Oh don't worry Vanessa, the only reason my review was so huge was because when I do the reviews, I play the episode on my computer as I'm typing

Yeah That's a plus, it is great that she cares so much. I guess it just really got to me that she has to be nasty in order to be so protective.

I don't have time to watch the whole entire episode tonight and I have to review it because I can't remember half of the plot.. So, when I watch the episode I'll give my review..

As far as reading all of you guys reviews, I agree with everything. Vanessa, I think Ricky was talking to Jack about Grace in this episode and fussing with Ben about going to the funeral, etc, etc..

Yeah I know what you're saying Tanya, it's like you have to watch the whole episode again because it gets foggy after a while. Can't wait to hear your review though

What did everyone think about Amy not wanting Ben to babysit?

I won't be able to review the whole episode because I'm busy packing for my trip, but I will answer your question, Erin.

I thought Amy was just being a mother. If I didn't feel like I could trust someone with my child, I wouldn't let them babysit either. Ben just hasn't had enough alone time with John to know how to care for him and Amy felt it was her obligation as a mother to not allow Ben to watch him. It's totally understandable. It didn't make it any better when he left John to go over to Ashley's. When someone leaves their child with you, you don't leave them with someone else even though it was your father. They left them with you to help them to trust you with their child. When he didn't do that, Amy kind of saw that she was right and couldn't trust Ben to watch John. Again, that is totally understandable. Has nothing to do with her feelings for Ben or lack there of, it has everything to do with the well-being of her child and that takes presidence over everything including Ben.

I agree that Amy was just being a worried mother, but I think its strange that Ben hadn't gotten any experience caring for John up this point. Why wasn't he around her during those first few weeks? I don't think that Ben going next door to get diapers was that big of a deal. Ben was being quite reasonable. Amy liked Leo. Though I think that Amy's anger just revealed the fact that her and Ben's relationship wasn't really all that strong at this point.

And I know this is one episode late, but I was just watching the Big One, and it makes me laugh that all pregnancy tests apparently come in small brown paper bags. Is that a California thing or just the writer's strange opinion on pregnancy tests?

Oh yeah I understand Tanya I'm trying to start a little more discussion we seem to be slow right now!

But You pretty much think the opposite of everything I felt, I have an idea of where you're coming from though.

Well I was sort of having the same thoughts on this. Anne had mentioned that Ben has been over at the Juergen's house everyday since John was born, so I take it he just didn't help her out and gain experience?

The funny thing is, like I said up there, he was according to Anne, so he must have literally came to visit and not help out. And Ricky points out to Ben that he's not that good at holding John, so that tells me that he didn't even hold John hardly when he came to see her. Maybe he was more into sex with her before we even knew

This is honestly how I felt about the situation. I mean, if my boyfriend's dad watched my baby while he went to get diapers, I would have been thankful and lucky that he was able to get clean diapers or he could have been left in a soggy diaper Now like I said, if it would have been just Betty watching John, I totally would have sided with Amy.

I forgot that this is the episode where Jack starts and stops drinking. He apparently gets over his pain pretty quickly....and who decides to drink underage on the steps of their father's church?

I liked the scene with Amy and Ben in the end...I forgot that after she yells about him leaving John with Leo, they actually kiss. I think that scene was sweet because you see the fear Amy has about having sex again. I think she is afraid that even kissing could lead to sex. I just appreciated this scene a lot more this time than I had originally.

I meant to answer this but I have no idea why that is, maybe it is a Cali thing, like they help you with being more discreet by brown bags.

Yeah I know right? This show has some weird tendencies.

I thought it was sweet too. But what I liked the most about this moment was that Amy decided not to have sex for a while. It was a good decision, and to see that even someone she loves a lot she won't give into.
