Sam & Gene (UK) Appreciation #1 - They're like Starsky & Hutch, but better!
 I really enjoyed the Sam & Gene dynamic on the show, they made a great team (when they were both up for it, at least....  ) Fans: o1. paintedxlie o2. globe2912 o3. chrissy1302 o4. antisocial Just ask to be added!   Sam: "Okay. Alright. Surprise me. What year is it supposed to be?" Gene: "Word in your shell-like, pal." (He grabs Sam by the collar and hauls him into the little office. He slams him against a filing cabinet. Sam throws his hands off him.) Sam: "Big mistake." Gene: "Yeah? What about this?" (He punches Sam in the stomach. Behind them, the rest of the office watches, laughing and enjoying the theatre. Gene slams Sam against the cabinet again.) Gene: "They reckon you’ve got concussion. But I couldn’t give a tart’s furry cup if half your brains are falling out. Don’t ever waltz into my kingdom acting King of the Jungle." Sam: "Who the hell are you?" Gene: "Gene Hunt, your DCI, and it’s 1973. Almost dinner time. I’m ‘avin’ ‘oops." Season 1 Episode 1  Gene: "I love this city. Its mess. Its noise. Prozzies. Drunks. Stray dogs, little old men." Sam: "Buttered crumpets for tea." Gene: "You’re a right smart Alec and all, not squeaky clean, nor’s this place. Rest of this country couldn’t give a threepenny bit about this town. The orphans take whoever they can get to look after them. That’s me." Sam: "So you want me out now." Gene: "Are you joking? You got to put this right." Sam: "I only know one way to police." Gene: "So do I. She’s not giving up and nor should you." Season 1 Episode 2  Gene: "My friend is going to ask you some questions. Personally I hope you don’t answer them because I want you to die in here and end up inside a pork pie." Gene: "How did you know Red Rum was gonna win the national?" Sam: "Just a hunch." Gene: "You didn’t have any… inside information? Little bird in the racing fraternity?" Sam: "I wouldn’t do that, would I?" Gene: "Well, I didn’t think you’d lock a murder suspect in a giant fridge." Sam: "He wouldn’t answer my question." Gene: "I’ve got a feeling he will." Sam: "How’s that little animal, in your stomach?" Gene: "Do you know, I do believe he’s sleeping." Season 1 Episode 4  Gene: "Are you on strike? Common, hands off your ding-a-ling, we’ve had another shout." Sam: "Well seeing as you’ve just broke my door down, I take it, it’s big." Gene: "As Shelley Winters’ arse." Season 2 Episode 1  Gene: "Oh you made it then? ‘Bout bloody time!" Sam: "As for you, I can just about handle you. Driving up like a pissed up crack head and treating women like bean bags! But I’m gonna say this once, and once only Gene, stay out of Camberwick Green!" Season 2 Episode 5  Sam: "Why are we running?" Gene: "BECAUSE THEY’RE CHASING US!" Season 2 Episode 7  Gene: "I didn’t do it, Sam. Neither of them. I swear to you I did not kill those men." Sam: "Why should I believe you?" Gene: "Because you trust me! Like I trust you." Season 2 Episode 7 __________________

 The banner is cracking me up  I don't think I've seen those pics before.I love to watch their relationship grow and develop (or shall I call it friendship?), anyhow - as the show progresses you can just feel how both of them pick up things from the other and how they learn to rely and trust each other. __________________
