Torchwood is fun, I won't say anything until you've seen it all.

Speaking of books, I read the first three books (the only ones published so far) in a series about an 10 year old girl, Flavia, who gets wrapped up in murder mysteries in 1950s England. The girl is rather precocious, she loves chemistry, hates her older sisters, and the series is quite amusing. Flavia de Luce
