Chris: "I'd be patronising you."
Shaz: "I'll give you the money."
Chris: "Even if you gave me the money, what I'd be saying by getting it for you, is that you can't fetch your own independent Marathon. That you're not as able as me."
Shaz: "You think I'm handicapped?"
(The telephone rings.)
Chris: "No. You're a woman"
(Shaz turns away in disgust while Chris answers the phone.)
Chris: "Hello?"
Season 1, Episode 4

Chris: "This restaurant, Chas Cale's place. It were really swanky, beautiful. You know, and the first thing I thought when I went in there was, 'I'd love to take Shazza somewhere like this.'"
Shaz: "Aw, that's nice!"
Chris: "No, but let's do it. Let's go somewhere up-market, you know. Somewhere special. This Saturday?"
Ray: "What about me and you?"
Chris: "Oh, no, I think it's a place for couples, mate."
Season 1, Episode 6

Chris: "I thought we were going out tonight. Come on. Come on, Shazza. You’re my girl. You’ve always been my girl. Even before we spoke, I just knew it. Shaz? Don’t leave me."

Shaz: "Chris, get up."
Chris: "Shazza, would you do me the amazing honour of becoming my wife? To have and to hold, from this day forward…"
Ray: "You don’t have to go through the whole thing now."
Chris: "Shaz? Make me the proudest man alive."
Shaz: "Yeah. All right."
(Shaz takes the ring and puts it on.)
Shaz: "Brill."
Chris: "Brill. She said brill."
Ray: "Well, does this mean we can go out on the piss tonight?"
Chris: "Does this mean we can go on the piss tonight?"
Shaz: "I suppose it does, lover."

Chris: "Shirt up."
Shaz: "Bet you say that to all the girls."
Ray: "Women in the police force, it’s just not right."
Shaz: "You warm those fingers up."
Chris: "Always."
Gene: "Oh, dear God, when you’re ready."

(CID. Shaz is going round dropping files on various desks, trailed by Chris reading notes from a piece of card.)
Chris: "I know you don't want to speak to me. I was wrong, all right? I just kept thinking 'I'm never going to be able to do this. I'm never going to be able to give Shaz the wedding she deserves. The life and...' er..."
(Chris can't read his own writing.)
Shaz: "You wrote down what you were going to say?"
Chris: "Well, yeah, because otherwise I thought I might panic and say something stupid, and... You know, I really wanted to tell you how I, erm, how I felt."
Shaz: "Well, give it here."
(Chris hands over his card of notes; Shaz reads it.)
Shaz: "It's all right, I suppose. You spelt fantastic wrong. But yeah, I am."
Chris: "So...?"
Shaz: "So, you're an idiot."
Chris: "I know that."
Shaz: "It doesn't have to be the perfect wedding or any of that. Are you going to get a haircut? Wear a suit? Decent suit, though, not that brown thing you drag out every so often. Shine your shoes, brush your teeth, clean your fingernails, show up on time and all that?"
Chris: "Yeah, yeah, of course. "
Shaz: "Well, then it'll be perfect enough for me. "
Chris: "You mean it?"
(Shaz kisses and hugs Chris.)
Season 2, Episode 6

Shaz: "It was a horrible shock but I'm not ashamed of you. I'm proud of you."
Chris: "How could you possibly be proud of me?"
Shaz: "Because you care when you get it wrong. It matters to you and that takes something special. I love you for that. Do you hear me? I love you."
Season 2, Episode 8

Chris: "Stop, police! Proper police!"
(the bent cop shoots at him, he falls. Shaz shoots the bent cop)
Shaz: "‘Ow you doing baby?"
Chris: "Not too bad, lover."
Shaz: (to the bent cop) "You’re nicked."
Season 2 Episode 8

Chris: "Whatever you do next, Shaz, I’m sure you’ll be brilliant at it. … I hope I always know ya."
Shaz: "Of course you will."
Season 3, Episode 2

Chris: "Oh, Shaz. I am cacking it."
Shaz: "You’ll be fine. Now go and break a leg."
Chris: "Well, that’s not very supportive."
Season 3 Episode 5

Shaz: "You don't really think anything's going on between me and Ray, do you?"
Chris: "I don't know what to think anymore, Shaz."
Shaz: "A misogynist with a moustache? Don't float my boat, baby."
Chris: "What's happening?"
Shaz: "I don't know."
Chris: "I mean, I hear a police whistle, I jump out of my skin."
Shaz: "It scared you."
Chris: "And I don't know why."
Shaz: "Then we'll be scared together."
Season 3, Episode 7

Chris: (to Gene) "You don’t want a pint? Or a red wine? Or a short? Pint and a chaser? Crisps? Scratchings? Or both? I mean, Nelson does Ringos— "
Shaz: (she interrupts him by kissing him, and Chris eventually responds.) I" love you, Chris. Not Lewis Collins, you. I’ll always love you forever and a day, you got that? "
Chris: (for a moment, he stares, lost for words, then-) "Fab." 
Shaz: (she hugs him, smiling, and he does so too.)
