I totally agree. I couldn't have said it better myself. I think he's such a terrific actor and I think he was what really made the show work, because he made Sam's reactions so true to life and genuine.

I just stumbled upon this trailer for John's new movie "Tuesday" - looks like he's teaming up with Philip Glenister again

Don't think it will be releases at the movies over here, so I'll have to wait for the DVD release

John Simm, oh my good God.

I adore this man. Absolutely adore him. It's the main reason that I can't watch the US remake of Life on Mars. Nobody can ever do Sam Tyler better than John Simm did it.

I've seen him in quite a lot: Rumpole of the Bailey, Heartbeat, The Bill, A Pinch of Snuff, Meat, Chiller, all twelve episodes of Men of the World, Boston Kickout, both episodes of Cracker, all three episodes of The Locksmith, Diana & Me, Understanding Jane, all fourteen episodes of The Lakes, Wonderland, Human Traffic, Forgive and Forget, Clocking Off, Never Never, Spaced ( ), Miranda, Crime and Punishment, 24 Hour Party People, White Teeth, all six episodes of State of Play, The Knight's Tale, London, Nero, Sex Traffic, Blue/Orange, Brothers of the Head, The Yellow House, all sixteen episodes of Life on Mars, and all three episodes of Doctor Who.

My favorites of the stuff he's done are State of Play, The Lakes (season one was way better than season two, IMO, but John was fantastic throughout), Human Traffic, Never Never, Crime and Punishment, Blue/Orange, and Men of the World. I think Life on Mars is a given. I think Danny from The Lakes is my favorite character, followed closey by Jip from Human Traffic.

I like his band a lot too. It's a shame they split up.

I have the first three episodes of The Devil's Whore, but I'm not going to start watching until the final episode airs next week. Then I can watch the whole thing at my own pace. I'm really looking forward to it! Has anybody else been watching it?

I have not seen The Devil's Whore yet.

I've only seen John Simm in LoM and Doctor Who so far, but I keep hearing about Clocking Off.

I've only seen John's episode of Clocking Off, and liked it a lot. I've heard good things about the rest of the series, but haven't gotten around to watching yet. I believe Philip Glenister is in every episode, and he's always a joy to watch.

WHO is Steven Edwards??

Spaced is one of the greatest shows ever. I'm going to wear out my DVDs, I just know it. It's on constantly at my house.

Yes, he was great in Sex Traffic. It's such a depressing movie though. (But he looked goooood in those glasses. /shallow)

What class did you watch it for?

Maury Chaykin's in it too.

No worries on being shallow, he does look good in those glasses.

Does he look good with those glasses or what?

I didn't know Devil's Whore was out already (I'm soooo behind), I definitely want to check it out though.

There were things I liked and things I didn't about The Devil's Whore. Overall, though, I thought it was good. Very good. And totally essential for any John Simm fan. He was amazing.

They can rough him up all they want to, he still has the most expressive face I've ever seen.

Here's John's brief appearance during the Royal Variety Performance. He wears a beret! And his shy little smile at the very end is so sweet.
