Gah, the episode was so awesome. I'm sure we've all heard the "Gene is God" theories, I thought of it when I saw Alex asking Gene what he said to Bevan.

Alex: What did you say to him? What did you say?
Gene: I told him the truth

She's questioning him, and even though he can't tell her the truth (Alex: "Look me in the eye and say it. Say you had nothing to do with Sam Tyler's death."
Gene: "I haven't got time for this, Bolly."
and
"City are going to cane United next season.") he looks disappointed in the way she questions him. Look at the lyrics of the scene:
Can't you see me here mama
mama mama mama please

Loved the Sam Tyler bit at the start of the episode.

Also loved the subtle shout out to US Life on Mars ending with Ray saying it was like he was an astronaut.
