Josh is set to star in the new Thai-Remake of the movie, "Shutter". He plays the role of Benjamin Shaw, a photographer who is on honeymoon in Japan with his wife, played by Rachael Taylor.

The film is now in theaters and was #3 at the box office it's opening weekend!

Josh did some radio promotion last week for the film:

* Josh on The Bobby Novosad Show - KSMB 94.1 (Louisiana)

* Josh on The Jackie and Bender Morning Show - KISS 106.1 (Seattle)

* Josh on KDWB (Minneapolis)

I actually found about 10 different radio station podcasts that I didn't know Josh would end up phoning in (most likely an after thought or pre-recorded).

I'll get them up on the site, soon -- but we're doing maintenance and I can't update anything on there until this weekend, but I'll be posting them here and adding them to the first post throughout the day. Stay tuned!

Thanks for the Bobby Novosad radio spot, Mandy! Can't wait to hear more that you say are coming our way.

I can tell Josh loves doing the radio promos: he gets to say more in less time than video without constantly being interrupted. And he's so diplomatic. When Bobby asked Josh if Shutter was the kind of movie he wants to do on a regular basis, Josh mentioned that he's made independent movies (get 'em in there, Josh!) that many people don't really get to see, but that now here he's made "a movie for the audience -- for fun". So go see it! LOL!! He's so great.

I've updated the first post with two more interviews.

I when he talks with Jackie and Bender (my old radio station I used to intern for). They love him and he always likes to pal around with the radio station he listened to as a tween and when he was in Canada. It's like "home" to him or something. Plus, I like how Jackie and Bender always think everyone else in radio is dumb. So, they'll ask "real" questions and even laugh about how they just know people will ask him still about Katie Holmes.

I just love his radio interviews! He always reveals a little bit more that you never knew and also gives us more details than we need to know about some stuff. Hee! (Josh mentioned that he is doing about 15 of the radio shows. I have yet to find them all)

Plus, he chats up TONS about the Mighty Ducks. LOVE!

Thanks for the radio interviews, Mandy.
I found it interesting that in talking about Minneapolis he talked about the Mighty Ducks trilogy, but never mentioned being there for Aurora Borealis.
Most informing talk about hi tech toilets in Japan, too!

That's because they didn't film in Minneapolis for AB, unfortunately. They only filmed external and a few other shots without the cast. The rest was done digitally (sorta) and all in Toronto.

Aha! that explains it. Thanks, Mandy.
Now, back to Shutter. Have you gone yet, Mandy? You really should. I 'd be interested in hearing your opinion and your take on it. Aw, come on, Joe will be there with you.

So, I went to see Shutter for the second time tonight....and I saw it on the IMAX screen.....huge Josh! Awesomeness!

I convinced my mom to go with me. It wasn't easy, cuz she does NOT like scary movies. But she agreed to go because, and I quote her, "Josh Jackson is a fine male specimen." And she liked it....and got through it without any major freak outs. So I'm sure Mandy could handle it.

I'm not sure if this was posted before, just in case.

Quote:
Jackson met cultural differences on set in Japan

Joshua Jackson recently discussed the cultural differences he encountered while filming the horror movie Shutter in Japan.
"When the director Masayuki Ochiai called, 'action,' every member of the crew dropped to the ground, I guess to stay out of our eye line. It's a very generous gesture, but I never really got used to it. I'm used to having a big crew standing around looking at me, not lying down," Jackson told Parade magazine. "Trying to get on the same page in a conversation was often really difficult. There's a sequence in the film, where my friend is about to commit suicide. We probably talked for two hours with the director about whether or not my character would take his shoes off. In Japan everybody does it, it's unconscious. But, for a Westerner caught in a horrific moment, it's absurd.
It's like, 'My friend is about to kill himself? Hold on one second. Just got to get at these laces and get my shoes off.' That's where the West versus East miscommunication sometimes happened."

that is exactly what i felt, Mandy--dread! but really it was very mild which suprised me. the Ring and the Grudge were definatly way scarier than this. my sister doesnt like scary movies either same as me (although ive seen way more than she has) and i wouldnt let her see the trailer before we left (she hadnt seen the trailer at all) because i thought she'd definatly not want to see it. she ended up really liking the movie, but i know if she'd seen the trailer first she wouldnt have gone. the trailer is definatly freakier.

Really? I'm probably the only one, but I wanted this to be very scary, when a horror movie doesn't scare you, what's the point?

Josh is there so I still want to watch this movie so bad. And more than once.
