I remember seeing that scene for the first time and yelling out "because Pacey's better Gwen"

I didn't notice till a few years ago when I rewatched S3 but in SK when Pacey and Joey share that look after he says hey to her, you could see in the background that Gwen noticed it.

Gwen saw that Pacey and Joey had a thing for each other and wanted Joey to tell Dawson, but then she gets in the way and brings the painting before Joey tells him

I get that Gwen is Team Dawson, but they had been together and it didn't work, so why try to force it when she asked "why aren't you together now"... It's because they just don't fit that way Gwen, Duh

She needed to worry about her own damn life instead of obsessing over her teenage nephew's. It was also screwed up how she gave Dawson false hope to keep going after Joey even after seeing her make out with Pacey. Some aunt.

And it's funny how Gwen's own life was reminiscent of Joey's current love triangle and yet she still tried to engineer the wrong choice for Joey.
