I don't know if she clued in at that moment or not. It's hard to judge when it actually happened.

True..I like to pretend that maybe she always had a thing for him...with all that bantering from Season 1..and plus he's so cute! lol

Not to mention those little comments she made about him having the bigger biceps and noticing the throbbing neck muscles on the guy making out with Miss Jacobs. She obviously noticed his physique.

Subconsciously Joey had a thing for Pacey in S1. It's only fitting their attraction and feelings re-ignited in S3.

More Pacey than Joey in season 1

SweetSymphony 09-11-2018 12:56 PM

Yeah, Pacey having a thing for Joey was obvious from Double Date where he asks Dawson's permission to ask Joey out.

It was Joey's feelings that are kind of a mystery but I think like JJH85 said, she definitely noticed Pacey's physique but I think it ran a little bit deeper for her. I think she felt a kindred spirit with Pacey b/c they did have a few things in common.

From: Baby - Season 1, Episode 6
Quote:

Joey: Hey, jailbait.
Pacey: Feel free to keep on walking. I won't think you're rude.
Joey: Look, despite first impressions, I'm not here to bust on you. I don't know if the rumors are true or exaggerated. Or if this is one of your bizarre attempts to appear more attractive to the senior girls. But I just wanted to say I know what you must be going through, and...
Pacey: [laughs] No. I really doubt you know what I'm going through.
Joey: Well let me see. People stare at you when you walk down the hall, we've seen that. They whisper behind your back. You suddenly overhear your name in a conversation of strangers. And pretty soon a justifiable paranoia sets in and whether they are or not, you are convinced that everyone is talking about you. Imagine if you had done something even worse.
Pacey: Like what?
Joey: Like sharing a house with your pregnant unwed sister and her black boyfriend, while your father serves time on a drug conviction. Imagine that, Pacey. We actually have something in common... Providing gossip for the small-minded townsfolk. And unfortunately for you, you're tonight's top story.
Pacey: Great. So, what do I do now?
Joey: Same thing I did... You pray like hell for a better story to come along.

JJH85 09-11-2018 04:54 PM

All good points, and they definitely shared a few moments in S1 even if they were supposed "mortal enemies" like Dawson seems to think.

I just rewatched Promicide and Separation Anxiety today..why did the writers have to hurt us like that :cry: Pacey felt so out of character to me ..acting like the way he did in prom. The writers were working overtime to reunite Dawson and Joey.

I totally agree that it was way out of character for Pacey. His heart is too big to treat someone he loves like that. The only good thing that came out of it was his apology when Joey went to his place afterward, that speech felt so genuine and heartfelt and you fall in love with Pacey all over again.

SweetSymphony 09-12-2018 07:42 AM

I agree, his apology was sincere and I had no choice to forgive him. I guess you can't really blame him..every since his childhood his dad and family have always made him feel so inferior. :(

"I know what I said. And I know how I said it, and it makes me sick to my stomach every time I think about it. Blaming you for my insecurities and then making you feel guilty for all the things that you've accomplished, when you should feel nothing but proud."

Oh I know and as much as I felt bad for Joey when he was yelling at her at Prom, my heart still ached for Pacey because of those insecurities. And he was starting to feel it more and more as he struggled to stay afloat and pass, so he could graduate.

SweetSymphony 09-13-2018 07:39 AM

Yeah, it must have been a difficult situation for him to watch all of his friends and the love of his life getting into colleges and he's still unsure if he will be able to graduate from high school. It must have been like all the horrible things his dad said about him was true.

I was so happy for him when he graduated.

JJH85 09-13-2018 08:54 PM

Me too and I was so mad at the show when Pacey showed up for Graduation Practice and they sent him away. I wanted to yell at them. I know, it's only a show, but we get so invested in these characters.

SweetSymphony 09-14-2018 06:59 AM

Omg, that made me so mad too. Why did they have to embarrass him in front of his friends like that..he was pleading with Mitch to let him stay.

totally agree. She was subconsciously attracted to him. When she was drunk, she tried to hit on him. She was giving him the eyes and put her finger on his chest. I am not saying she had feelings for him yet, but she definitely wasn't repulsed by him like she pretended to be during the movie

agree. I remember Pacey says it made him sick to his stomach how he talked to her
