I think KW's remarks about the divorce goes to his idea of conflict. That's how he would create conflict. It's pretty predictable, as they said on the DC board. Why not a conflict within the marriage? Maybe they have two kids and have to decide if they want three or maybe Joey's career has been flailing while Pacey's restaurants are taking off and how they handle that. Or or or.

But seriously, was that EW editor even a fan of the show? The comment about the beginning of s3 being the first time of a glimmer of PJo? Come on. Double Date, hello! Plus, everyone had read the Rolling Stone story where Katie had confirmed the relationship with Josh, so that was a whole other batch of shippers.

Sandy K, I guess some people didn't see any glimmer of PJ until season 3 because Joey rejected Pacey in Double Date. That's just my guess.

All these writers want is misery with couples. They don't like happiness
