Thanks for the pics, Katie. Beautiful shot from Double Date. Ah, yes, the beginning. Who knew? I just loved the way the six years played out, though. Pacey went from an un-kiss-worthy cretin to the boy Joey fell madly, passionately in love with. But it took her completely by surprise.

She did not expect to fall in love with him, hating him as much as she did. But as they say, there's a fine line between love and hate, and she crossed it!

But understandably she was really afraid to love Pacey, and she was equally afraid to not have Dawson in her life, which she mistook for love. I respect her brave step, however, in choosing Pacey over Dawson (albeit with Dawson's "permission"). That was a BIG step for her, walking out on his hold over her, to her reaching for true love, as corny as that sounds. Although she wavered a couple of times (which we won't talk about here), she couldn't deny the hold Pacey had over her. It's the same hold he has over us! Ya gotta love that.

and yet again....Miss Donna choose's the appropriate words...to describe our "Heroine's" Lovestory!

Her "Fear"....Fear of reality, a world she enclosed herself in, due to her mothers death at such a young age. Her fears drove her every decision and then would eventually drive away the fear of letting go... letting go of all of her pain, so she could..."Hold" onto the young man who brought her out of her fear, the young man that "Believed" in her...who saw through her fear and kept pushing her to...Hold on to who she was and as she holds on to him over and over again.... throughout the entire 6 seasons...we see her fear finally melt away!!!

"Holding on!!! With no Fear left to be found!!!"

Love your last post, Katie. The fear factor was determining in Joey's actions through the entire show as much as her tendency to reasoning about everything. If there was someone in her life that inspired her to throw off all those fears and be more like herself, that person was Pacey. I can understand she was afraid to risk her heart with him a second time though. Pacey was not a security blanket, Pacey was like this uncharted yet familiar territory that always amazed her as much as scared her.

Totally agree. The falling in love process for these two was so unique and wonderful. I think it started with this sparkling animosity in season 1 following with respect (season 2, I think Joey started to respect Pacey more when she witnessed how much he loved Andie), their friendship in season 3...that awesome chemistry...the sweet, slow, intense build-up of their feelings for each other...very real, very conveying, nothing like PJ in that season.

I loved how she went from barely stand him to spend 3 months in a boat alone with him. And at their return, the passion for one another was intact. How great was that.

to me, I think Joey fell for Pacey on her own. He was still the bad boy with a heart of gold. He was not acting like season 2 Pacey when they hung out. He was skipping school, getting in fights, getting drunk, throwing parties, making sex pacts, etc. Yes, she knew he loved Andie, but I don't see that as a reason she fell in love with him

That is one of my favorite PJo scenes and not necessarily because it signified that Joey had made the right, and in my opinion only, choice. But it showed how comfortable that they were with one another, which I think fans always knew but was sometimes hard to distinguish because in the early days of the PJo relationship there was sooooo much angst. It was nice to see them as I think they were always meant to be seen...relaxed and perfect with each other.

I agree. You can see them just sitting on a couch together forever lol. Well, you know what I mean. They just mesh and are so comfortable around eachother and it always showed. I can't see Joey being that comfortable with anyone else. At all.

I agree with you, Sarah, but I actually never said Joey fell for Pacey because of Andie. What I said was that she came to respect him more after that, I’m sure she was surprised with Pacey’s ability to love. She always thought he was more into the girls like Kristy Livingstone or Tamara, then she knew love was something more than physical for Pacey, he was able to love in a true way. She even was pleasingly surprised when Pacey showed her the name of his boat, True Love. Pacey Witter was a romantic and in a girl's eyes that's something, she was starting to look at Pacey with other eyes; but I love you mention she fell for Pacey on his own, 'cause I always felt she never meant to change him. She said there are some differences that enrich a relationship, that's why this bad boy with the heart of gold was so appealing to her, he made her feel alive and still he was the guy that she always knew and made her feel comfortable and safe in a sweet, wonderful way.

thanks romina. I do think she saw a new side to him when she found out he name the boat True Love. I love how she was falling for him, even when he was being bad. I like that he didn't put an act on when he was falling for her. He was drunk as a skunk in Valentine's Day Massacre and she still wanted to drive with him at the end, even though he was snarky with her in the jail cell
