Except for the last pic of the Horses, all the other pics have some Drama associated to them, even your table pic.

Thanks for the new Thread though.

Well the horses are probably having a bit of drama now with all the snow. You could always fasten them up to a sleigh - there would be plenty of drama then - especially if they have never been in harness before.

I was just talking with one of my aunts and they had kept the horses in for two days and as soon as they let them out they had to roll around. One horse got stuck so they had to get a lead line to help pull him up, but he managed to get up before they had to do too much.

That sounds like horses. If they can get into trouble they will. I wish I still had contact with horses. My sister goes and exercises a horse belonging to a lady she knows who needs help, as they have a few horses and two of the daughters are unable to ride very often because of other commitments. I would find it difficult to ride, but I love grooming and just hanging out around horses.

It's fun to be able to to visit them anytime I want and I help out when one of my aunts are away, and my kids and I help pile bales of hay when the supply comes.

That was one thing I didn't like - piling bales of hay. We used to get a huge wagon load of hay and straw delivered and we had to unload it then load it up into the old mill before they converted it into a house. It was very heavy work and usually took hours. Then there was the sweeping up afterwards.

It is heavy work and itchy too. We get about 300 bales each load, but with many hands, it only takes us about an 1.5 hours to unload and pile in the Hay Loft.

My sister and I used to have to do it mostly ourselves. The couple who owned the place were elderly, quite sprightly but the lady had angina and her husband was a little older than her so we couldn't expect any help there. The wagon guy would throw it off the wagon but not help us load it into the mill. We used a wheel barrow to shift it through the large garage/workshop and then had to lift it up to the old mill. Pints of lager went down very well after that job was finished.

There's nothing like a nice cold beer (lager) when doing manual labour.

Speaking of manual labour and beer - The neighbours have gotten together to help shovel folks out. My son and hubby are down the road helping and a bulldozer just showed up to get rid of that huge pile in front of our house and a lot of it landed in our front yard, but at least it's cleared. They were taking a beer break and my son came back to the house to get a few to take down to the crew.

Well it's good to know that people are helping each other - the only time I get to talk to some of my neighbours is when we are out clearing our driveways and keeping the drains clear so the melt water has somewhere to go. This year I don't think I have been out once to do that. The snow we had came and went so quickly.

I'm hoping this is the last blast of snow this year. It is technically Spring.

Well I hope so. I hope it has improved for our trip to NY, or I don't think we will be seeing our guitar playing friend in the street - unless he wears a peacoat over his usual attire.

You should be good by April.

The big Neighbourhood Shovel Party. That's hubby on the right with the blue hat and my son on the left in the green PJ pants.

This is the house next door, you can see mine in the background.

That little path was the only thing going down our road for a couple of days.

Taking a little break

Your family look very strong and efficient. All my husband has managed to do today is drop and break the tea-pot lid - that's two teapots without lids we have now. Teabags in cups til I get a new one.
