It was uneventful. We just stayed home and I made a stir fry.

I found once we had kids, we didn't do as much for Valentine's day. It's too expensive to go out when you have to pay a babysitter too, so it hasn't really been a big deal for years. I always try to cook a nice meal though.

you can still do that at home especially if you enjoy cooking it's nice to go a bit extravaganza with an extra nice good piece of meat or an extra special dish

I'm actually a pretty good cook and enjoy cooking, so I do try to do special dishes for special occasions.

We went out on Thursday to beat the crowds and because we were travelling by car on Saturday. Had a great weekend at Hemel Hempstead at a surprise 60th party for a friend and one of hubby's former colleagues. Stayed overnight at a hotel then came back Sunday. Weather atrocious for travelling but we made it without any mishaps. Went out with our son and girlfriend Sunday night so pretty busy all weekend.

I've got a busy weekend coming up. I have family coming over for Game Night on Friday and then Dinner Club is on Saturday night. Four couples get together and each couple brings a course, the hosting couple do the entre and it's my turn to bring the appetizer. The theme is Germany.

I started to look up German recipes for you but unfortunately got a virus notification. I rang my helpline and they sorted it out so please beware German recipe sites.
