I watched the 2nd part of His Dark Materials tonight. Mrs. Coulter (Ruth) is starting to show her true colours. I won't say much more as we get the show first (for a change ) and I don't want to spoil it for anyone.

I still can't get it out of my mind.
Wasn't born when the accident happened, but I can't imagine how that would affected everyone who were live at the time

And I don't remember when it happened. I was a kid and that stuff wasn't interesting to me.

Living in Canada or the US you wouldn't have been affected (personally) by the disaster, but everywhere in Europe was affected. I remember a few days after it happened being advised to stay indoors on a certain day as the fallout had reached us and as it was raining it could have affected us. Of course we didn't realise how serious it was and ignored the advice, which is quite scary thinking about it now. Every year for years the children who live in that area of Eastern Europe came to the UK just to get away from the pollution. I don't know if they still do, but the fallout lasted for years and a lot of people are still affected by the effects of the radioactivity.

Sorry I wasn't here yesterday but I went out early yesterday evening and got back a lot later than expected. We went to see a comedian and then on to my son's friends 30th birthday party, which turned out to be a family affair. Got a bit worse for wear so am recovering slowly this morning - or is it afternoon?

Took Buddy to the vet today as he had been scratching his ear and broke the skin. It turned out that it is wax so she put some lotion in and massaged them then cleaned it with cotton wool. We had to buy some lotion to do it at home which altogether with the consultation cost £76.00. Our friend took his dog to the vet's with a suspected ear infection which turned out to be wax. Unfortunately the dog had to be sedated which put the cost at £360 for the treatment!
