Great about having the extra time off. You'll be able to catch up on your housework! Hope the weather is good there so you can enjoy it. We have had some rain nearly every day and night for a few weeks now. The Jet stream is sitting below us instead of above us (or is it the other way around, I'm not sure,) but it means the rest of Europe is having a heatwave and we are sitting in a depression. I'm certain it is to do with climate change, or as a certain government's employees across the pond are told to refer to as extreme weather.

We've had a fairly dry summer so far, but it did rain all day today, so that was good. I got to have a swim in my sister's pool yesterday and get some sun, so that was lovely.
Thursday will be a long day for me as I work 9:00-7:00 which makes for a long week as well. __________________

Hope you are making the most of today. I wish I had the use of a private pool. Looking forward to my next holiday in Lanzarote, Canary Islands. We are in the adult only part of the hotel with it's separate pool so no kids jumping in and out all day. We go at the end of October so probably no kids anyway. Lets hope the weather is good as apparently last year they had rain at that time of year.

I actually worked all day today, so not really making much of the day. I hope to have a couple nice days while I'm off so I can enjoy the pool. Two more days of work and then I'm off for four

Sorry I thought you said you were off yesterday. My son flew off to the island of Corfu today and his flight was delayed about 3 hours. They are due to land at about 11.35pm (Corfu Time). Just the right time for going out clubbing - if they are not too shattered! By the time they get to the resort it will be about 1 or 2 am.

Wednesday's are usually my day off, but because someone was on vacation this week, I had to work. I just never mentioned that, so it makes sense that you thought I was off.
Your son is travelling and my daughter is travelling. She and her friend went to Prince Edward Island (The home of Anne of Green Gables) for a couple of Days. __________________

It must be great to live in such a vast country that you can visit somewhere new every year and still not see the half! If you get sick of the weather in one place just go somewhere else for a holiday. We usually go to the warmer parts of Europe as it is so wet and miserable in the UK in so called summer especially in the area I live, that you need a bit of sunshine to keep you going. My old school-friend and her husband usually spend about 5-6 weeks in the Canaries in autumn to set themselves up for the winter. We may even see them there when we go for our week.

I'm going to look after my mother tomorrow while my sister has another break, so will be travelling and then catching up with the family, so may not be able to post, but will be posting on Thursday, all being well.

And I was busy today as it was hubby's birthday and I was busy making a yummy supper. It was just a coincidence that we all had the day off today (not planned either).
This is the second round of kabobs we cooked, the first batch was all meat. As you can tell, we all have different tastes when it comes to our veggies. Mine are the normal ones that have something of everything on it. My son's are the all peppers and my daughter's are the mushroom and zucchini and hubby's were the ones without the mushroom. __________________

Great looking food. Hope you all had a great time - and the weather looks good too! It's very warm here at the moment but still raining! We haven't had a barbeque for years!

They were delicious and it was beautiful out, so we ate on the deck. The first batch on the grill were all meat, but I didn't take a pic of those.

I had a very busy morning today. I helped my mum shower and washed her hair, then found some clean clothes, dried her hair and sorted out her toenails. Great fun! Then I got myself ready, made a batch of jam and had my own breakfast. With a bit of prompting mum made her own breakfast and with further prompting made herself a cup of tea. I was pretty exhausted by this afternoon so spent it in front of the TV watching people choosing property abroad. Luckily my brother came and made his and mum's lunch while I cleaned up after the very messy jam making. Where's Mary-Kate when you need her.
Yesterday was lovely so after tea I got the ladder out and climbed up to get at the plums so we had enough to make the jam today. Mum helped by putting the plums in a container while I was up the ladder passing them to her. It was really good that she managed to do this and she really enjoyed being outside and helping. |
