Sounds like fun.

I've got a 10 hour drive tomorrow to pick up my son from the Military base where he was doing his driving course. That's 5 hours up and 5 hours back, so you won't see me on tomorrow and I hope to see the GOT finale when I get home tomorrow night

Saw GOT this morning - really good, don't miss it. Roll on next year!

Don Henley was great - he finished on Desperado which he dedicated to Glen.

He is doing the Carol King concert next weekend so I hope it will be televised.

Good luck on your journey - perhaps your son could do a bit of driving on the way back - it will certainly be good practice.

Well that was a long day. Up at 5:30 am on the road by 6:15am and got home at 7:00pm for pretty much a 12 hour drive. It was kind of fun, but the last couple of hours were rough. Glad to be home.

We watched GOT when I got home. I knew there was going to be some big mystery behind Jon, but did not suspect that. I am waiting for the day that Cersi gets what's coming to her and I hope it's pretty epic. Loved the Frey pie Do you think the Jamie is going to turn to the good side?

With no allies left and Dani and the dragons on the way with Asha, Theon and the Sand girls on her side I think there will be a comeuppance for Cercei. Just have to say that Lena Headey has really shone as Cercei, one of the best TV villains around.

Frey pie anyone?

We've suspected that about Jon for a long time. Eddard just wasn't the type to go with some lover and betray his wife.

I didn't expect it to be the sister though. I wonder why he never told Cat.

If word had got out Robert would have killed Jon as he is (most likely) Rhaegar Targaryen's son, and Robert did kill all the Targaryens he could find. We (My son and me) think that she went willingly with Rhaegar and was not kidnapped at all. I think Lyanna made Eddard promise not to tell anyone about Jon's parentage until Jon was old enough to be told, but unfortunately Eddard died before he could tell Jon.

I think when Bran eventually catches up with Jon he will tell him, which will make him as much of an heir to the throne as Daenerys. I wonder if he will have any power over the Dragons.

I have to say that I am a bit disappointed about who Jon's father is because in the back of my mind, I was hoping that Jon and Dannie would meet up, join forces and he would be the one she chooses to marry, but now if he ends up being a threat to her Throne, it makes me nervous.

Well the Targaryens have always married their relatives in the past so who knows.

I think that Sansa will team up with Littlefinger if she feels sidelined by everyone declaring for Jon. Of course there is still the matter of the Whitewalkers and their dead warriors threatening from the North so everyone will have to make some sort of peace with each other to fight them. Perhaps the dragons can make some more dragon glass which seems to be able to stop them.

ok, I have not been on here in ages -- but I have been bailing Brexit bilgewater for the past week -- thank you U.K.! I edit international relations/international economy posts for the Washington Post, and you can imagine the Brexit fallout.

ooofff -- now that I've read about this from just about every political/economic/psychological angle, it just seems like a bad idea to even have a vote. I even had TWO people writing very detailed analyses of how the Euro 2016 matches might affect the vote. So even though England was doing OK up until the vote, and there weren't any bad matches against France/Germany/etc. anticipated in those final days, one guy's research into international sporting competition showed how these types of games don't make people feel all warm and fuzzy about being European. Instead, they raise people's feelings of nationalism -- and that's not good for when you're voting whether to stay in the E.U.!

Another post I worked on today looked at why countries pull out of international organizations -- lots of reasons, it turns out. But it also turns out that the U.K. has withdrawn from more international organizations than any other country, so that's sort of interesting.

I'm now so Brexit-punchy, it's not funny. I'm having Brexit dreams.

Hey V, it's been too long. Great to hear from you.

To be honest, I haven't been following the Brexit stuff in the news. I know very little about it other than the cliff notes, but it sounds like you've got it from all angles. Looks like you are doing well with your job, so that's great.

Sorry about the Brexit sh**! In my opinion it is the worst thing to happen in my country for a long time and could even split the UK up! Scotland and Northern Ireland voted to stay in and England and Wales to leave. Most people interviewed have various reasons to leave but the most common is the influx of Eastern Europeans mainly Roma, to small towns where the people are getting worried about their jobs, way of life etc.

The Prime Minister has resigned, his most likely successor has pulled out due to being stabbed in the back by his so called friends, and the opposition party is in turmoil because most of the MPs don't think that their leader campaigned enough to stay in.

Whatever the future holds it will be a very bumpy road.

I don't know who will be running the country next but if Theresa May is voted in I think she will be the best person to negotiate with Angela Merkel.

Sorry to bang on about this but as you can imagine it is a very worrying time, or should be, for us all.

Going to bed soon. We have been helping my son move into a flat-share with his friend. His room is tiny so we are going to get him some storage and a bed on Wednesday, his day off. He is sleeping on the sofa which looks enormous so at least he will be comfortable. I was hoping he would be able to move all his stuff in but no chance - there is not enough room for half his stuff.

The house is very quiet without his favourite blogs going on most of the night. We usually go to sleep hearing them and then often wake up in the morning hearing them.

Somehow I think he may be making trips home with washing and ironing, even though they have a washing machine.

Oh my, you will be an empty nest very soon. My daughter still hasn't done laundry anywhere but at home here since she moved out last September, so I suspect the same of your son.

At least she does her own - I can't see him coming home to do laundry himself - more like bring a bag home for muggins, but we will see. He has lived away from home before in Halls but he ended up at his auntie and grandma's. They looked after him like a little lord.

That's what aunties and Grandmas are for.

Well my daughter is no longer a teenager. She turns 20 in about 3 hours. Wow, it seems weird.
