The OT Thread # 36 -- you mean there are other things to talk about?

Sometimes we find the need to just talk about every day things going on in our lives. So join in the discussion.

Tell us about your day or share a recipe. It's a great place to get to know one another.

Speaking of recipes. Here is one that I have done for dinner club and family dinners. Three simple steps.

Grilled asparagus for dinner! Another month, and we'll be able to get local asparagus at the farmer's market. I get so addicted to the amazing fresh taste, and our dinners tend to be on asparagus overload for a while.

I love asparagus, but nobody in my family likes it, so I don't buy it very often.

Throw it on the grill for a few minutes and surprise them -- it tastes nothing like steamed/boiled asparagus. I grill, broil, or bake it now, depending on what else is going on for dinner. I also bought artichokes tonight, which is the treat for me that nobody else likes!

I grill zucchini that way and it is good. I will have to try it with asparagus. Now I can't stop thinking about grilled veggies.

Mateo, the cupcake boy/lawyer in the video posted earlier, was on Ellen this week -- funny!

I had watched the video before and it was cute. Didn't know he was on Ellen so thanks for posting that link. Love Ellen and her give aways.

@vfhollywood I'd much rather see Diane Kruger and Joshua Jackson on Vogue.

It's pretty funny that there are people apparently boycotting Vogue now for the Kimye cover, or maybe it's an early April Fool's joke

Oh God, those two annoy me. Well it the whole K's that annoy me. I don't even try to mention them in conversation because they are just not worthy of my time. I felt the same way about |Paris Hilton and was so glad when that went away. (that being the subject, not the person because I'm not mean spirited).

I've never seen a K show, and only figured out which K was which when I started fangirling on Josh last year. There was a lot of Kimye coverage at the MetGala...

I really don't get the whole concept of a "reality star." It seems to prolong the concept of people getting their 15 minutes of fame interminably. I'm fine with watching the Amazing Race on occasion, as they are actually doing something, and showing something about other countries. But why are we hooked on the concept of sitting on our butts watching other people sitting on their butts discussing things of very little consequence... Whoever thought it up is a TV programming genius!

I blame Survivor....that's what really started it all.

I really thought reality tv would be a blip and then gone, but obviously someone is still watching, or it wouldn't continue. Even after shows like Big Brother and The Bachelor were outed as being scripted, they're still on!

I watched Survivor, Idol, and The Amazing Race their first few seasons, but the originality is long gone at this point, haven't watched them in years.

I've never watched any of The Kardashians, Housewives, etc., but again, someone is watching, so must be something interesting there?

These two up to their old tricks again lol:
