Not sure how indie releases to DVD work, especially in Canada but wow, the dvd has already been in the works and will be released per amazon.ca on June 30, 2009!

I wonder if it'll go to Amazon.com, too. Because I know that Amazon.ca is a real pain to order from. You have to be a resident. Dang it!

eBay may have copies sooner than later, and they should all be Region 1.

Is having to be a resident in order to order from them relatively new? A couple of years back I ordered a DVD (one of Josh's movies) from amazon.ca and had no problem whatsoever.

Exactly, I ordered Shadows in the sun and I had gotten it. I hope that isn't the case this year.

Michael McGowan’s One Week has passed C$1.1m ($880,000) at the Canadian box office, the second English-language Canadian film to reach the threshold in the last six months after Passchendaele.

Featuring Joshua Jackson as a man facing terminal illness who travels across country on his motorcycle, the road movie is currently on 28 screens through Mongrel Media. Written and directed by McGowan, the film also stars Liane Balaban and features Campbell Scott as the narrator.

Mongrel president Hussain Amarshi told Screendaily.com, ““We always believed that One Week would be a great word-of-mouth film… Our numbers have been very stable for the last six weeks. People love the film.”

Mongrel’s campaign for the film started shortly after the film’s premiere at Toronto in September, including large billboard-style posters outside of major cinemas and blanket trailer coverage on Canada’s principal airline Air Canada.

Charlotte Mickie of E1 Entertainment International, who is selling the film internationally, said the film “speaks to the heart”. She suggested buyers would be able to repeat this success in other territories given the universal themes of the story.

Is this a sign that it'll be sold internationally?
