J told me ya'll were discussing, so I had to run downstairs to see. Actually it's a cold water line only. And yes, it's over the stove. Sink looks over the living room as she said already. I'll post the pic tonight if I remember. I had it installed so I wouldn't have to sit any heavy pots and pan in that cast-iron sink. LIKE I COOK!! HA!

Looks like our planned refurbishments and redecorations will have to be put on hold because the hubbys company have decided not to pay the bonuses out to management this year!!! That means he's now earning less than he was than he was when he was just a lowly consultant!!!
I thought holding a senior position in a company meant that you got the bonus while everyone else missed out. A company with morals, who'd thunk it??!!

Janet - it is and you are scary!!!!

Oh that sucks about his bonus! I hate that when your counting on money to do something and it's just RIPPED away. So is he looking for a new job now?

Of course the pot filler tap is over the stove -- I knew that. I'm just so far behind in kitchen updates that I can only dream of a pot filler. *sigh*

And get this -- my Mr. Donna went on a job interview today... and I knew nothing about it. Until he got lost and had to call me for directions! I guess we're in upheaval mode too!

Dare we say he'll get a job in the same state as you this time?

No, he's not looking for a new job. This one still pays really well and getting experience on the management side of it is really good for his future job prospects. Plus the job market is quite slow over here right now with all the economic uncertainty, if you've got a job you keep hold of it!!!

Donna, was your hubby successful at his interview? Was it for a promotion?

And whats all this with pot fillers over your stoves??? I have a pot filler, its called my kitchen sink!!!!! Are your kitchens really that big?

Ah yes, Suzi, the newest custom kitchens over here can house entire families! Especially here in the south where construction and upgrades never end. My kitchen is nowhere near as gorgeous as Amy's will be, but it's still 12' x 24' including a very large eating area, and I have a separate walk-in pantry which I love, love, love.

As for hubby's interview, I didn't get much feedback. It wasn't really for a promotion per se, my husband's been getting knocked around by his "bosses" at his current job. They happen to be married to each other, and the wife is crazy and sabotaging hubby's efforts to grow clients and opportunities and her husband, the real boss, is an impotent, ineffective dud. Anyway, the new job prospect guy apparently called my husband and hubby wanted to hear what they had to say and offer. And yes, it is in the same state! It's in the north Atlanta area, but in a different county so that affects our school choices. Big time.

But I would consider moving there -- my husband has an old friend who built a home on spec in that very area and can't get rid of it. He's been asking us for months to buy or invest in this house, but it's just way out of our price range, like $950,000 (we're looking at stuff for about $350K). But if we can come to some sort of agreeable payment plan or something, who knows? Problem is, every house we've had has been a "deal" that's fallen into our laps, and never one that we have ever selected from a number of available options. So I'd like a basement, a level backyard and a neighbourhood pool. Is that too much to ask? This new house is on the middle of a hill (think slant), has a slope of a backyard (slant again) and is in a neighbourhood that doesn't build community pools because the homeowners are so friggin rich, they can dig their own in their backyard if they want one.

/end rant. *huffs and puffs* I just want what I want.

$950,000 is about half a million pounds. You could probably buy a big shed for that here in London!!! I was looking at property in our local area today (on the internet) and was astonished that this little house/shoebox is on the market for $1.2 million!!!! Its about 10 minutes from my much bigger and cheaper house!!!

Tell me about it!! Its getting worse too, our food bills are going through the roof, petrol (gas) prices are at an all time high ($2.16 a litre) and house prices/mortgage interest rates are Luckily when we moved the mortgage interest rates were pretty low and we got a 5 year fixed rate.

Our best bet at the moment would be to move over the pond, with the current rates of exchange we'd be millionaires!!!!

I'll alert Imigration right now...

Watch out for the 5 year fixed. Do you know what your interest rate is going to be when it matures? My friend did the 5 year fixed and when her intrest rate jumped at that deadline, they came extremely close to getting foreclosed on. They sold their place days before the bank was going to take it over. Scary stuff.

crap.

That stupid virus is back.

I'm getting it fixed again. It's infecting anyone that uses coppermine for their photogalleries.

Please refrain from going to JJN until further notice.
