It's that time again!

We left off giving our well wishes to KatieNap (Katie) who's in the hospital with lung cancer.

She had been experiencing a lot of back pain, especially last month, and when she initially went in for the PET scan the tumor was discovered and it was determined that it had metastasized from the lung cancer. But the tumor gradually began affecting her total mobility to the point that she was rushed to the hospital on Friday in "complete neurological breakdown" (her words). I don't know exactly what that means because she gave no details at all, but her family thought she was having a stroke. Please know that she is stable now and staying at the hospital in New York City. But some good news that has come from the tests is that she does not have Leukemia or lymphoma. That's great because if the cancer has not reached her lymph system (which is found throughout the body) then there's a good chance that it's localized and can be treated easier. But the tumor is the primary concern right now and the doctors are dealing with eliminating that first. Then she expects to be on chemotherapy for 3 months which she can do back at home with her family, thank goodness. She is on some 20 medications and underwent many many tests just this past weekend. Her sister and older daughter (pre-med student -- cross your fingers) are with her, and her husband will be joining her tomorrow and Tuesday. AND!! She'll be getting a computer Monday as well, so expect some PMs for those who PM'd her, if you haven't already! Katie is a feisty, strong woman who is not used to being sick and being cared for. But she wanted me to let all of you know that she read all of your well-wishes, is thankful for and very appreciative of all your prayers and cannot wait to get back to the board! Please continue to keep her in your thoughts and prayers, and I'll update again once I know anything more. ~Donna.

You're welcome.

And it's so sad about not being a smoker and getting this illness. My father died of lung and throat cancer, but he was a smoker.

Katie is in the same boat as Christopher Reeves wife, who wasn't a smoker either.

I hope to see Katie online, soon!

I'm replying late to this sad news. I don't post here often, but do read the forum and have always enjoyed Katienaps great posts.

Can I just also express my great sadness at this news. I really hope Katie that you can get on top of this and I wish you all the best in this endeavour. My thoughts and prayers are with you at this time and everybody here is with you during this hard time.

Well....everyone....what can I say...I have been moved to tears over your heartfelt well wishes...

I want you all to know that I'm going to fight this with all my might...and with the peace of knowing that our "Humanity" is real!! you guys have proven that...
you have all lifted my spirits and have made me feel "ALIVE" and there isn't enough thanks in the world that can express my feelings for all of you!

NOW!!! that will be enough worry from all of you....and let's get things back to our regular scheduled programming....

I've had more fun terrorizing them then letting them terrorize me....LOL.....

Janet - don't kid yourself. Just leave the decorations out. Christmas will be here before you know it!!!

I wanted to drop in for an update. My dad is hanging in there. He isn't eating but very little now. Losing lots of weight...about 3-5 lbs a week now. But he says he isn't hurting a lot, and that's all that matters to me.

Update on the house...we are moving right along. They started putting up the drywall yesterday, and the bricking should be done this week (if the stupid rain will stay away!) Here's a couple of the latest pics that I've taken. They should be pretty obvious, but the first is the front of the house with the lower portion bricked. The rest of this will be bricked as well except just under the front porch, which will be Hardiboard. The second is the view of the front door from the inside. Obviously, this is prior to insulation and drywall which is now in place around the door. It will be stained a dark mahogany color before we're finished.

The view out the front door looks great, how far off the road are you? Suzi, she has 10 acres. We have 5 and we have a nice long little driveway leading down to the road. Not very private by any means, but our road is not too busy so it's not bad. Helps with security that way, our property is quite open, no where for the bad burglers to hide. (yes we have that problem out here, we are so far out it would take a while for the cops to get out here if they were called. Those dame meth heads (the perps not the cops)) Ah, the joys of country life!!

Oh there was a tornado here yesterday!! Well not exactly here (40 minutes away, but close enough.) It was in north Vancouver, Washington. You know where that is Mandy. We do not get tornados in the Pacific Northwest, what the hell!! It was a F3. Not alot of damage, just up rooted trees and roof tiles torn off. But wow!!

We've finally booked our trip to NYC!!! We arrive on Feb 16th and leave on Feb 23rd. Woo hoo.
